From the Associate Executive Director of Schools
After a long winter, we are all excited to experience the arrival of Spring! I
am pleased to report that our school has had a great year of academic
growth so far, especially in ELA and Math as evidenced by the results of the
benchmark assessments that our students take throughout the school year.
Recruiting season has started and we are looking for qualified candidates
with experience in ELL to fill our new fourth grade classrooms next year. As
you know, we will continue to add a new grade each year until we reach
eighth grade in both Gateway and R. Kingman Webster Charter Schools.
During our March lotteries, we admitted 120 new students into all three of
our charter schools (Prospect, R. Kingman Webster, and Gateway).
However, in spite of our growth, every year we have more applicants than
we are able to admit.
This year, both Gateway and R. Kingman Webster had a Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) site visit and a Comprehensive
Program Review visit. Thanks to all the hard work of our students, parents,
and faculty, we achieved excellent results and ratings.
Our Parent Advisory Boards (PAB) across all three charter schools continue
to do a phenomenal job at creating and funding learning and social
opportunities for our students and parents. As always, thank you for all of
your support of school activities and events. Your participation helps us
create a strong community focused on helping our students excel!

School News
It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of another school year. At this
time, many teachers are reflecting back to the beginning of school and
looking at the great progress every child has made this year. Everyone has
done an incredible job learning to read, solve math problems and write
meaningful stories.
Field trips continued to enhance our curriculum this term. Each grade level
was able to take advantage of many opportunities thanks to the many
parents who volunteered to chaperone the trips. Students have been to the
Boston Children’s Museum, The New England Aquarium, LEGOLAND, and
Carriage Shack Farm, to name a few. We have also had visits from the
Haverhill Historical Museum, Curious Creatures, The Mad Scientist and
many parents with wonderful talents they were willing to share with us.
The attendance and participation at our Movie Night, Family Potlucks,
Winter Potluck, Author Night, Ladies Night Out and Art Auction was very
impressive. These activities are great opportunities to come together as a
CDCPS Webster family. Many thanks for your help!

¡Después de un largo invierno, todos estamos muy contentos de sentir la llegada de
la primavera! Me complace informar que nuestra escuela ha tenido un gran año de
crecimiento académico hasta ahora especialmente en ELA y matemáticas como lo
demuestran los resultados de las evaluaciones de referencia que nuestros estudiantes
toman durante todo el año escolar. La temporada de reclutamiento ha comenzado y
estamos buscando candidatos calificados con experiencia en ELL para llenar nuestras
nuevas aulas de cuarto grado el próximo año. Como ustedes saben, continuaremos
agregando un nuevo grado cada año hasta llegar a octavo grado, tanto en Gateway y
R. Kingman Webster Escuelas Chárter. Durante nuestras loterías de Marzo,
admitimos 120 nuevos alumnos en las tres escuelas chárter (Prospect, R. Kingman
Webster, y Gateway). Sin embargo, a pesar de nuestro crecimiento, cada año

Noticias de la Escuela
Es difícil de creer que estamos en el final de otro año escolar. En este momento,
muchos profesores están reflejando de nuevo al comienzo de la escuela y mirando a
los grandes progresos que cada niño ha hecho este año. Todo el mundo ha hecho un
trabajo increíble para aprender a leer, resolver problemas matemáticos y escribir
historias significativas.
Las excursiones continuaron para mejorar nuestro plan de estudios de este plazo.
Cada nivel de grado pudo tomar ventaja de las muchas oportunidades gracias a los
muchos padres que se ofrecieron para ser acompañante de los viajes. Los estudiantes
fueron el Museo de los Niños de Boston, Acuario de Nueva Inglatera, Legoland, y la
Granja Carriage Shak, por nombrar algunos. También tuvimos visitas del Museo de
Historia de Haverhill, Criaturas Curiosas, el Científico Enojado y de muchos padres
con maravillosos talentos que estaban dispuestos a compartir con nosotros. La
asistencia y participación en nuestra noche de película, Potlucks de Famlias, Potluck

impresionante. Estas actividades son una gran oportunidad para venir juntos como

Parents as Partners
Parent participation and involvement have
greatly contributed to the success of our
school. All CDCPS-Webster families are
invited to participate in our parent board
and events at the school. Please get
involved!
Parent Advisory Board (PAB)

school. Areas addressed in meetings
range from curriculum and academic
issues to fundraising events that provide
