SUMMARY:
I study networked communities in internet. My master’s research is about the
construction of communities in the blogosphere, and I also do research about
online social movements.
I am currently at the MIT Media Lab at the Center for Civic Media as a visiting
student from January to June 2015.

Networked social movements.
Objective: Identify and analyze the formation of social movements in internet
and their relations with the physical space. The current research involves the
#YaMeCanse mexican movement and the use of twitter as a communication
tool.

Objective: Identify the formation of communities of blogs that address issues
of urban knowledge, looking for patterns and topography with the aim to

Urban Mobility in Guadalajara, A Case Study.
Objective: Analyze the situation of the urban mobility in Guadalajara
specifically the rise in the ownership of private vehicles and to propose a new
way to get funds to invest in sustainable transportation.

Objective: Diagnose the situation of public transport in Guadalajara and
propose strategic actions for its improvement addressed to the decision and
policy makers.

Environmental barriers to mitigate pollution in the Santiago riverside.

Objective: Analyze the sources of pollution of the river Santiago to propose
mitigation measures of air pollution to the population through the installation of
environmental barriers along the river basin.
