THE RESURRECTION NEWSLETTER 4TTH HESH UN OD LY A YF A OM F IA LY D VOEFN T JESUS WW WW WW . R.CRCCH CO HU O SUTS O TN O .NO. R OG RG DDEECCEEMMBBEERR 2292, , 22001133 At Ephesus, the Catholic Church officially proclaimed Mary as the Theotokos. This means God-bearer. Another way to put it, the Church proclaimed that we can properly call her the Holy Mother of God. The profound mystery of this proclamation shows to us what the scriptures reveal and what the Church proclaims. Jesus is true God and true man. He is not God dressed up like a man. The Son of God does not put on a "man suit" and pretend he is one of us. He IS one of us! Happy New year and let us truly celebrate our beloved Mary, the holy mother of God. Fr.
