Acapulco is located on the Mexican
Pacific Coast on the beautiful
Saint Lucia Bay, surrounded by the
Southern “Sierra Madre” Mountains.
Its main vegetation is the lower
jungle type. Acapulco is situated 245
miles from México City.

Air Transportation
Acapulco’s“Juan N.Alvarez”
International Airport is located only 25 minutes from the Golden
Zone of the harbor and receives direct flights from the cities of
Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, as well as from Europe
and South America with connections through México City.
The following airlines serve Acapulco: Aeroméxico, Mexicana
de Aviación, America West, Continental Airlines, American
Airlines and Aviacsa. The average flight time from México City
to Acapulco is 45 minutes.

Tourism
Diego Rivera Mural.
Located in the traditional part of Acapulco, in Dolores Olmedo’s
house, friend of the Mexican painter, one can appreciate, in the
house’s facade, this beautiful mural of sea shells, mosaics and
multicolored stones representing the Aztec Gods Tláloc and
Quetzalcóatl.
Main Tourist Attractions of the City
In addition to its many beautiful golden sandy beaches,
Acapulco is well known for being a world class city, offering the
best entertainment and attractive places to visit, among which
one can find the following:
House of the Mask
This place offers the opportunity to discover the culture of the
State of Guerrero through its beautiful masks made by Mexican
craftsmen, representing the traditions and folk dances of some
their villages.
La Quebrada
Famous place where you can watch the breathtaking dives from
a rock 115 ft high.
The Fort of Saint Diego History Museum
It was built in 1616 to defend the Port from pirate attacks.
Nowadays, this architectural jewel has 12 permanent exhibitionrooms, where a very interesting collection of pieces and objects
brought from Asia and Europe to be marketed in the times of
the “Nao” de la China (Chinese ship) are housed.
The Peace Chapel
This beautiful chapel has been converted into one of Acapulco’s
landmarks, and is featured by the enormous white cross which
can be seen from any part of the city. This place is ecumenical
and any person of any religion can celebrate a ceremony and
their faith in God freely in this magnificent place.
The Roqueta Isle
Boats with glass bottoms make tours from the “Caletilla” beach
to the isle, from where one can appreciate the local marine-life
and the statute of the Sunken Virgin.
This isle is also recommended to practice scuba diving and
snorkeling.
Botanical Garden
This beautiful site, houses a great number of native plants from
the region and its main objective is to preserve the biodiversity
and conserve the flora and fauna which is plentiful in the area.
