El estrés es el detonador para el inicio de diversos
padecimientos, lo más interesante es que las personas le
temen a los diagnósticos de enfermedades como, cáncer,
diabetes, insuficiencia cardiaca, etc, sin saber que el
diagnóstico al que deben tenerle mucho respeto, es cuando
el médico les diga “lo que usted tiene es estrés” ¿por qué
digo esto? Porque ignoran que el estrés es el que nos
desestabiliza, ocasionándonos enfermedades, desde una
simple gripa, gastritis, hasta cáncer, diabetes, hipertensión
arterial, etc.
Cuando hacemos ejercicio, reímos, estamos contentos,
tranquilos, liberamos endorfinas, hormonas que ayudan
a nuestro sistema inmunológico a estar bien. Cuando nos
estresamos liberamos una hormona llamada cortisol, es un
esteroide, este es necesario pero en cantidades normales,
ya que en exceso es cuando provoca enfermedad, ejemplo,
en un momento de miedo o tensión, alerta, el cerebro envía
un mensaje a las glándulas suprarrenales y liberan cortisol
este a su vez hace que se libere glucosa al torrente sanguíneo
dándonos energía, capacidad de estar alertas y la capacidad
de correr, o defendernos en caso necesario, ya pasada la
situación de alerta, los niveles de cortisol se regularizan a

o beber, o al contrario perdida del apetito, dificultad para
concentrarte, es importante que lo tengas en mente para que
puedas emprender acciones para disminuirlo.
Podríamos decir que el estrés depende totalmente de
nosotros, debemos CONOCER nuestros talentos y habilidades
para enfocarnos a trabajar en ellas, y elegiríamos nuestra
actividad laboral de acuerdo a nuestras habilidades,
también RESPETAR a las personas con quien interactúas
te dará paz interior, DISFRUTAR LO QUE TIENES y seguir
luchando por tus sueños, sin envidiar lo que tienen otros, NO
PRESIONARTE por el estatus y exigencias sociales, esto es de
lo que más estrés causa a las personas.

Stress detonates the start of various illnesses, and more and
more people have been diagnosed with stress in the last third
of the XX century. What is most interesting is that people seem
to be more afraid of being diagnosed with cancer, diabetes,
cardiovascular problems, etc. without realizing that the
diagnostic that they should pay attention to is when the doctor
says “you are under stress”. Why’s that? Because people ignore
that stress destabilizes the natural balance of our internal
chemistry, causing a wide range of illnesses such as simple
colds, gastritis, to cancer, diabetes, arterial hypertension, etc.
When we do exercise, laugh, are happy and relaxed, our body
releases endorphins, hormones that help our immune system to
feel good. Similarly, when we’re stressed we liberate a hormone
called cortisol, it’s a steroid, and it is necessary for normal
body functions, but in increased quantities it can cause various
disorders. Cortisol is released in to the body due to fear, shock
or tension, when the brain sends a message to the suprarenal
glands, and liberates the cortisol, more glucose is released
to the blood stream giving us extra energy, which we need to
have the capacity to stay aware and run, or defend ourselves,
if necessary. Once the alert situation has passed, the levels
of cortisol go back to a level that will help us keep up with a
normal activity. But, if during the day we live through a lot of
tense moments, and never seem to be able to relax, we’ll have
high levels of cortisol in the body at all times, and will be under
the threat of suffering from the various known stress related
illnesses that we’ve mentioned before, and even others.
How do we detect these symptoms? When you feel tired,
can’t sleep well, or can’t sleep at all, you’re irritable, anxious,
suffer from compulsive eating and drinking, or on the other
hand, have no appetite whatsoever and suffer from difficulty to
concentrate, it’s important that you take note in order to apply
the necessary actions to diminish the stress.
It could be said that the difference between good and bad stress
levels totally depends on ourselves, and that we must recognize
our talents and abilities, and choose work activities that agree
with them, RESPECT the people we’re with will give you inner
peace, so ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE, and carry on fighting for
your dreams, without envying others, DON’T PUT PRESSURE ON
YOURSELF for status and social demands, this is what causes
most stress in people.
To have the right dose of cortisol flowing through your body,
will not cause any illnesses, and it goes hand in hand with a
mature emotional intelligence, being more aware of what you
might be doing wrong, and what you can change.
