Thank you Father Peter for your years of service and may God bless
Thank you Father Peter
for your years of service
and may God bless you as
you continue your priestly
ministry at St. Zachary!
Always better to greet than to say goodbye!
“Life is flowing fast, time is flowing like a stream. After a year, after a day, after a moment,
we will be not together...”
My dear Friends and Dear Parishioners of St. Colette - the words quoted above are featured in a popular Polish song - which reflects the truth that for every thing there is a time.
After 6 years of pastoral work here in this parish as a Pastor – the time has come for me to tell
you all from the bottom of my heart : THANK YOU - GOD BLESS YOU!
Thank you all and thank you for everything - for your good heart, for your great kindness and cooperation, for your understanding, for your selfless sacrifice for the good of St. Colette Parish and for your kindness to me as Pastor.
Thank you to all of my closest collaborators and the entire parish staff for their daily cooperation, understanding and far-reaching dedication for the common good.
I thank the Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Committee for their concern for the
welfare of the parish, concern about the financial condition of the parish and for the constant
cooperation with me. Meetings with these groups were always a real pleasure for me.
Also, a word of thanks to the various parish groups: the Hispanic Community Group, Social Club, Ushers, Art & Environment, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ministers of Care, Altar
Servers, the Parish Choir and their Music Directors, and other volunteers, who for the good of
the parish did not spare a penny, time, talent and dedication.
Among my closest coworkers, I would like thanks all the priests who over the past 6 years
worked here with me as Associate Pastors. Thank you Fr. Brian Simpson , Fr. Jim Murphy and
Fr. Bob Borre. Thank you all Parish Staff.
Thank you to the Principal of our school Ms. Val Zemko and director of CCD program
Mrs. Kollman. Thank you to all the teachers who worked in our school and still work here.
Thank you once again to everyone for everything, and I do not want to omit anyone, because in this parish I received a lot of heart, familial warmth and fruitful teamwork. At the
same time, I am aware of my imperfections and weaknesses - and if ever in any way I underestimated or hurt someone in a way not intended - it is now in my parting words that I say: I'M
SORRY! For all of you - today, I am thankful to the Good Lord, and I pray that he rewards you
a hundredfold for the goodness you have shown to me and St. Colette
Parish.
I also ask you to receive your new Pastor, Fr. Mike Lewon, with the same love and
warmth, and offer him your far-reaching cooperation and trust. Thank you for everything and
God bless you. I ask that you please pray for me in my new place of work at St. Zachary
Parish.
Your Pastor-Fr. Peter Galek.
God bless all of You.

Gracias P.
Brian Simpson, P. Jim Murphy y P. Bob Borre.
he recibido mucho corazón, calor familiar y fructífero trabajo en equipo.
Peter Galek.
Dios los bendiga a todos.

your generous contribution to our church family.

our community to pray, you have supported our
goals, and helped us in times of need. May God

- Bereavement Ministry
Hello Father Peter,
Over the last six years, members of the Lector
Ministry here at St. Colette have had the
opportunity to work closely with you. We have
observed you in the practice of your priestly
vocation and give thanks always for the gift that is
you. Without a doubt, we all could count on your
good humor and cheerful smile to get us through
many a last minute crises, which always seemed
to occur minutes before the start of a particular
liturgy. Thank you for your guidance. We wish
you the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in abundance as
you commence your new assignment at St.
Zachary Parish. Our loss is their gain.
God Bless,
Donnie Shirmer &
the 26 active members of the Lector Ministry
Dear Fr. Peter,

and guidance. Your willingness to meet promptly to discuss issues of importance to our ministries is sincerely appreciated.

at St. Colette. We wish you the best in your new
parish St. Zachary. May God bless you in all

- Respect Life Ministry
“Some people come into
our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our
souls to dance. They
awaken us to a new understanding with the
passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people
make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They
stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on
our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.”
~ Flavia Weedn
Rev. Msgr. Peter Galek,
On behalf of the Hispanic Ministry, we would
like to sincerely thank you for the unconditional
support you gave us. Thank you for having been
the bridge of togetherness between the two
communities here at St. Colette. Thank you for
always being there when we needed you.
May God bless you always,
-Hispanic Ministry
Fr. Peter, thank you for leading and guiding us for
the last 6 years. We will always remember the
songs that you taught us, that you played soccer
with us, that you told us jokes, that you taught us
the joy of eating Polish candy and that you prayed
with us. We will remember the times that you
encouraged and supported us and congratulated us
on a job well done. We will also remember that
you pushed us to work harder. You have indeed
left footprints on our hearts.
Dear Father Peter,
I'd like to thank you for your leadership and the
pastoral support that you have shown us these
past 6 years at St. Colette. Your vision to extend
encouragement to those of us not particularly
involved in the ministries and listen to our
thoughts and concerns regarding our parish was
truly appreciated.
We will keep you in our prayers always. We wish
you happiness in your next adventure. We will
miss you. God Bless you.
I feel your ability to mentor those of us who
served on the Parish Council under your direction
has not only helped me personally grow in faith
and in leadership, but has pulled many of us
together for the good of the Parish.
Love,
The Students and Faculty of St. Colette School
Father Peter,
Thank you for a wonderful 6 years of service to
our Parish. On behalf of the Social Club, we
would like to thank you for starting this
wonderful Club as we have done so much
together as a parish because of your idea. Also,
for starting the first Christmas Luncheon which is
now an annual event and now going on our 7th
Luncheon which has become such a yearly
celebrating event.
Again, thank you Father, for all that you have
done. May God Bless you on your new
assignment at St. Zachary's and please don't be a
stranger.
Warm Regards,
Kathy Hoyos and
The Social Club
God Bless you and I wish you the best in your
new assignment. I surely hope you will come
back to visit us at St. Colette when you have the
time.
Peace and warm regards,
Linda and Donna for the Garden Ministry
On behalf of the St. Colette choirs, Rev. Msgr.
Peter, you will be missed. From your fun laughs
and jokes during mass to your somber and
thoughtful homilies, both written and spoken, you
will be missed. Anyone who meets you can sense
your deep love for Christ and the excitement you
get from sharing Christ’s love with others. You
have a wonderful gift. As you move on from St.
Colette to bless another parish with your
presence, may you continue to keep our parish in
your prayers, as I know we will keep you in ours.
May God bless you always.
Many blessings,
Michael Myers, Music Director, &
all the St. Colette Parish choirs

Eucharistic Adoration
On the first Friday of each month at St.
Colette Parish we have Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament. Adoration begins after 8:00 a.m. Mass
and ends with Benediction at 5:00 p.m. It is held in
the Chapel. Come and visit for ten minutes or one
hour. All are welcome.
There is nothing more solemn that exists on
the face of the earth than the moment of the
Consecration. The Mass is a Divine Act. We come
in contact with this miracle each time it is represented and reenacted at Mass.
Bishop Fulton Sheen, says, ‘The Mass is the
communication of the Sacrifice of Calvary to us under the species of bread and wine. On the cross our
Blessed Lord was looking forward to you, hoping
that one day you would be giving yourself to Him at
the moment of Consecration. “
Yes as He gives Himself to us we can give
ourselves to Him. When we go to communion we
can say, Take my life, take my property, my will, I
offer it all to you Lord to do what you will with me
and my belongings. We unite our heart to the Sacred Heart, we unite our cross with our Lord’s Crucifix. He becomes present and he transforms us wholly into His service.
We then become the light of the world. If we
call ourselves by His name we must be the light of
the world. We must have one agenda, we must be
the light to all around us. By giving our life to
Christ, we become the light in the darkness.
Transformed by Christ we can transform the world
around us.
Come let us Adore Him.
G. McCusker

Father,
You have been a leader, model and a servant for
us at St. Colette Share Faith. Wherever the Spirit
calls you in the Church, may you always strive to
do the will of the Father and bring more souls to
Christ.
Thank you for your overjoyed preaching of the
Gospel and for your pastoral service to the people
of God, which bring God's hope to a troubled
world. May Christ in his Sacred Heart refresh
your priestly enthusiasm and reward you with
many happy years in the priesthood.
God bless you for serving us as our Pastor and our
priest. God has called you to a special vocation,
which you live with reverence, kindness, and
happiness. Our prayers are for your health,
contentment, and growth in holiness as you begin
a new journey of your vocation.
A BIG THANK YOU, Fr. Peter for your service
in the Lord. During the past 6 years, you have
been true to bringing our different communities
together as one beautiful FOCUS Teen Ministry.
Your encouragement, appreciation and continued
support are reasons that our FOCUS Teen
Ministry enjoys the richness of different cultures
within our one community.
You have shown us that in a time when intolerance seems to be growing, we as the young
church must strive for one true universal Church.
We pray that God will bless you in your new
assignment at St. Zachary’s each and every day!
- Focus Teens & Leadership
Our gratitude for your faithful and loving service
to the Church and your support and guidance to
the staff and children of St. Colette Share Faith
Religious Education Program will always be
remembered. You will never be forgotten and
always thought of in prayer.
- St. Colette Catechetical Staff
Father Peter,
It seems like yesterday that we were preparing
your installation Mass. Six years have passed and
now it seems all too soon to say
goodbye.
From delicious food you would make and share
with us to the beautiful singing of your birds, we
will miss having you in the office as a pastor and
as a friend. Thank you Father Peter for your
spiritual leadership, guidance and understanding.
It was a pleasure working with you and we wish
you luck with your new assignment at
St. Zachary.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you today as
you celebrate your last weekend Masses at St. Colette.
God Bless you today and always,
