2012 ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL
First Reading — Peter is an eyewitness: The Lord is
risen (Acts 10:34a, 37-43).
Psalm — This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice
and be glad (Psalm 118).
(1) Second Reading — All who are baptized, set your
hearts in heaven (Colossians 3:1-4) or
(2) Second Reading — Christ our Passover is sacrificed;
therefore let us celebrate (1 Corinthians 5:6b-8).
Gospel — Three witnesses, Mary, Peter, and John; each
responds to the empty tomb (John 20:1-9) or Mark 16:1-7
(or, at an afternoon Mass, Luke 24:13-35).
Update: This past weekend, we received Archbishop’s
Annual Appeal 2012 Pledges in the amount of $1,808.00.
When added to previous donations, it gives us a total of
$8,185.00. Our goal amount for 2012 is $33,400.00.
We have begun the 2012 Campaign. Thanks to those
who have submitted their pledges. Pledge envelopes can
be placed into the collection basket or dropped off at the
Rectory. To help us reach the goal amount this year, we
will be taking up a second collection every weekend.

St. Emydius Parish will celebrate the 50th Anniversary
of The Second Vatican Council by a series of presentations
on 4 consecutive Thursdays (April 19 & 26; May 3 & 10)
from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The presenter for this event is
Fr. David M. Pettingill, former professor at St. Patrick’s
Seminary and University and frequent presenter on this
subject.
