Power over life and death is God’s alone. We see the depth of God’s
mercy and care for those in need. Who do you know that needs God’s
life giving presence? How can you be a living encounter of God’s
mercy?

10TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
In the readings today we hear the stories of two widows
who lost their sons and how God intervened in miraculous
ways. These stories show us God’s special concern for those
who are the most vulnerable; in the Bible those were widows,
orphans and strangers. The category of those who are most
vulnerable might be different, but the call to stand up for the
life and dignity of each human person is a requirement of our
faith. How is God calling you to intervene in the lives of the
poor and vulnerable to make a difference for them?

En las lecturas de hoy, escuchamos las historias de dos
viudas que perdieron a sus hijos y cómo Dios intervino de
maneras milagrosas. Estas historias nos muestran la preocupación especial de Dios por aquellos que son los más
vulnerables; en la Biblia esos eran las viudas, los huérfanos y
los extranjeros. La categoría de aquellos que son los más
vulnerables puede ser distinta, pero el llamado a defender la
vida y la dignidad de cada persona es un requerimiento de
nuestra fe ¿Cómo está Dios llamándole a usted a intervenir
en las vidas de los pobres y vulnerables para hacer una
diferencia para ellos?
