And so begin the first readings of the four weeks of Advent this
year. The entire cycle of readings for Advent is full of pronouncements of the coming of our Savior, and exhortations to
be joyful! The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, where the
angel announces to Mary her role in salvation history, and the
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a powerful manifestation to the
new world of the presence of God in its midst, are both celebrated during this liturgical season.
In the sanctuary during Advent this year, angels, the messengers and worshippers of our Lord, are present, reflecting the
proclamatory and joyful nature of our Advent readings and Feast
Days. The lush greenery of Christmas increasingly fills our worship space from week to week as the message of the coming of
our Savior cannot be silenced, but rather builds to that Blessed
event on Christmas Day.
RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS – Senior
Catholic sisters, brothers and religious order priests spent
years working in Catholic schools, hospitals and social
service agencies, often for little, if any, pay. Their sacrifices now leave a profound gap in retirement savings. Your
gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious supports more than 34,000
religious past age 70 in the United Sates. Our 2nd collection on December 8—9 provides the opportunity to show our gratitude by making a
generous contribution to the Retirement Fund for Religious.

Bishop George Sheltz will preside at the Sacrament of
Confirmation on Thursday, February 21, 2013, with a
Mass at 7:00 pm. A reception will follow in Prefontaine

Archdiocesan Celebration for Our Lady of Guadalupe 2012
Join the celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the
George R. Brown Conven-tion Center on Sunday, Dec. 2. The
celebration begins at noon with a procession from the Chancery
to the George R. Brown Convention Center with pre-Hispanic
dances and songs. The Celebration of the Eucharist will be at
5:00 p.m. with Daniel Cardinal DiNardo presiding.

Así comienzan las primeras lecturas de las cuatro semanas de
Adviento este año. El ciclo de lecturas para Adviento está lleno
de declaraciones sobre la venida de nuestro Señor y exhortaciones a estar gozosos! La Fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción, en cual un ángel anuncia a María su parte en la historia de
la salvación, y la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, una
manifestación poderosa al nuevo mundo de la presencia de
Dios entre ellos, están ambas festejadas durante este tiempo
litúrgico.
En el santuario durante el Adviento este año, ángeles, los mensajeros y adoradores de nuestro Señor, están presentes, enfatizando la esencia proclamadora y gozosa de las lecturas de
Adviento y de los Días de Fiesta. El verdor exhuberante de Navidad poco a poco llena la iglesia de semana a semana porque
el mensaje de la venida de nuestro Señor no se puede silenciar,
sino que se hace crecer hasta ese bendito acontecimiento en el
Día de Navidad.

ALERTA DE SEGURIDAD – Favor de recordar de No dejar a
la vista artículos de valor cuando se estacione en el estacionamiento de la iglesia. Recientemente se han registrado casos de robos en carros que han dejado bolsas, portafolios o
paquetes de valor. Ahora que se acercan los días festivos, por
favor, no dejen nada de valor en sus vehículos.
FONDO PARA RELIGIOSA RETIRADOS – Sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas católicos de edad
avanzada pasan años trabajando en las escuela
Católica, hospitales y agencias de servicios sociales, frecuentemente sin pago o tal vez muy
poco. Sus sacrificios dejan una profunda marca en los ahorros
de prensiones. Nuestra ofrenda al Fondo para Religiosa Retirados sostiene a más de 34,000 religiosos mayores de 70 años
en los Estados Unidos. Nuestra segunda colecta del 9 de diciembre pon brinda a cada uno de nosotros la oportunidad de
expresar nuestra gratitud y apoyo al ofrecer nuestra generosa
contribución al Fondo para Religiosos Retirados.
POSADA DELCATECISMO – Domingo 9 de
Diciembre en la Iglesia – Todos estamos invitados el próximo domingo a participar en el regocijo de la tradicional Posada del Catecismo. Los
niños del Catecismo deben presentarse puntualmente en sus salones de clase y los padres pueden esperar en el Salón Parroquial mientras termina la Misa de
11:00 am. Al terminar todos permanecemos en la iglesia para
participar en la celebración de la Santa Misa.
ARBOLITO Y TARJETITAS DE ANGELES DE ADVIENTO – Una variedad de tarjetitas para regalos van a estar
disponibles en el Arbolito de Adviento. Cada tarjeta especifica la edad y sexo del los niños para recibir regalos de
Navidad. También hay tarjetitas disponibles si usted prefiere comprar
una tarjeta de regalo de una de las tiendas que se sugiere y por la cantidad de dinero que se pide en la tarjetita. Si a usted le gustaría proporcionar una Navidad feliz a una de nuestras familias de la parroquia o
comunidad, por favor, tome una tarjetita y traiga su regalo envuelto o la
tarjeta de regalo antes del jueves 13 de diciembre. ¡Gracia por compartir en el espíritu de Adviento!.
CORO DE NIÑOS – Niños del 3er. Grado
escolar en adelante son invitadosl a unirse al
Coro de Niños para Navidad. Las prácticas
para el Concierto de Navidad se van a tener
en las siguientes fechas. Para poder participar, los niños DEBEN de estar puntuales y DEBEN asistir a
todas las prácticas. El Coro de Niños en Español va a cantar
en la Misa de 12:00 mediodía de Navidad y en el Concierto
del sábado 22 de diciembre a las 7:00 pm
