Historical Overview
1960:
Compañía Peruana de Electrodos OERLIKONS.A. was
formed.
1971:
Merged into a business division – the Welding Division–
of EXPLOSIVOS S.A.
2007:
SOLDEXSA S.A. is formed as a result of the spinoff of the
welding business of EXSA S.A.
2008:
Change of corporate name to SOLDEXA S.A.

technical specification, as well as by source materials for the various
welding processes.
Comprehensive Technical Assistance Service, the cornerstones of
which are the Technical Department and the Welding Technological
Center-CTSol.
Distribution System, channeled through a wide network of
authorized dealers, guaranteed by SOLDEXA, which allows broad
coverage of the main cities of the country. SOLDEXA sells directly to
the dealer and not to the end user, ensuring product quality and
providing direct technical assistance to its customers. SOLDEXA has
six warehouses strategically located in AREQUIPA, ILO, LIMA (main
warehouse in Lurin and another in La Victoria), TALARA and
TRUJILLO, which allow constant supply and wide coverage of
Technical Assistance in the Field.
At present, SOLDEXA S.A. exports its product to markets in Argentina,
Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Panama, Soudan, and soon to more countries in Latin
America.

Comprehensive Solutions in Joining
and Cutting of Materials
SOLDEXA manufactures and markets various types of OERLIKON
welding products (conventional, special, autogenous and automatic)
with the largest variety of allows for manufacturing, repair and
maintenance work, as well as Carbon Steel, Low-Alloy Steel, Stainless,
Carbon Electrode, Cast Iron and Cooper, Silver, Lead and other Alloys,
which can be applied to the various modern welding processes such as
SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and SAW.
SOLDEXA also has a Mechanization, Automation, Welding Machines,
Bi-metal Sheets and Accessories Division, which markets the most
important brands worldwide:
Oerlikon, Saf-Fro, Miller, Hypertherm, Air Liquide Welding, Cemont,
Pro Arc, Binzel, Profax and Lenco, among others, and an exclusive line
of its own machines.

SOLDEXA Technical Service
Our facilities and highly qualified personnel allow SOLDEXA to provide
companies that use our products with the most satisfactory pre- and
post-sale services in the market.
PRE-SALE SERVICE: Technical service starts when projects to
manufacture or repair components that must receive maintenance by
welding start.
The stages of this pre-sale service in manufacturing projects consist in:
Analysis of drawings
Analysis of component manufacturing standards
Analysis of the welding standards
Preparation of welding procedures
Selection of source materials: welding processes and source
material types
Preparation of final procedures
Qualification of procedures
Qualification of welders
Certification of welders
Training of welders should certified welders not be sufficient in

The stages of this pre-sale service in projects for maintenance and
repair of components consist in:

Due to the high degree of commitment that SOLDEXA
maintains with its customers, it is constantly innovating
and implementing technology to provide an
increasingly complete service, such as Non-Destructive
Tests (NDT). This service consists in detecting: Surface
discontinuities by penetrating liquids, sub-surface
discontinuities by magnetic particles, and internal
discontinuities by ultrasound, in addition to analyzing
hardness and interpreting x-ray plates.
Additionally, SOLDEXA has one of the most modern
physical tests and chemical analysis laboratories in the
country, where it provides exclusive service to its
customers in: characterization of base materials,
assessment of mechanical tests of traction, impact,
hardness and other characteristics allowing to provide
sound technical assistance in recommending products
or in the assessment of welding procedures.

SOLDEXA Welding Technological Center - CTSol
Modern Technological Centers located in Lima, Arequipa and Trujillo
provide training, instruction and qualification of welders, development
and qualification of welding procedures; Special School for pipe welding
and training of company supervisors and engineers in welding and
related subjects.
Only SOLDEXA's Welding Technological Center – CTSol has a shop with
29 booths designed under international standards for training and
accreditation of welders, a sheet preparation room, fume extraction
system, pneumatic bender for guided bend tests, an auditorium with
capacity for 100 people; meeting rooms, and a library with extensive
technical information on joining and cutting of materials.
CTSol makes technical visits by engineers and technicians with
extensive expertise in welding periodically, to advise companies in the
selection and application of the products to be used, always seeking the
best cost / benefit for such companies.

SOLDEXA provides specialized service in advisory and sales of Plasma
Welding and Cutting Machines, being the exclusive representative in
Peru of the brands: Oerlikon, Saf-fro, Miller, and Hypertherm.
For all brands, SOLDEXA has a large stock of original parts and
accessories, which ensures timely support to the equipment that it
sells.
The sales force of SOLDEXA nationwide, consisting of qualified
engineers and technicians, provides efficient technical advisory in the
selection of welding machines and/or cutting equipment.

Welding Equipment and Systems
Technical Center - CETES
Joining its technological experience to its technical service ability,
SOLDEXA makes the Welding Equipment and Systems Technical Center
- CETES available to its customers to ensure efficient operation of
SOLDEXA welding equipment and systems.
CETES offers services of: Diagnosis and repair of electronic cards and
systems, Diagnosis of supply quality and of the electrical facilities of the
company, Test runs and assessment of equipment in actual working
conditions.
CETES is one of the most modern in Latin America and has a state-ofthe-art Electronic Laboratory, Electricity Shop and Engine Repair,
Mobile Units technically equipped for immediate response to any
service requirement in the field.
CETES is run by a staff of engineers and technicians specialized in
electronics, electricity, and in internal combustion engine repair,
internationally accredited to provide comprehensive support to
SOLDEXA's customers.

In consistency with the vision of being the leading company or the
company recognized n all the markets where we are present, at the
end of the year 2008 the Board of Directors resolved to go from
being a local company to being a regional company. To accomplish
this, it took the big leap of purchasing three of the most important
welding products companies in South America: SOLDADURAS
WESTARCO LTDA., SOLDADURAS MEGRIWELD S.A. in Colombia and
COMERCIALIZADORA DE ELECTRODOS DE VENEZUELA, COMELVEN
C.A., which will allow it to go, in a first stage, from a company of 14
000 tons to over 35 000 ton/year in manufacturing and sales of
welding products.
In this first year of strengthening of both cultures (the Peruvian and
the Colombian), we think that the synergies that are taking place
and will continue to take place in upcoming months will be positive
not only for the organization but for the entire market. As an
integrated company, we will seek to accomplish as soon as possible
operational excellence and to have all players in this our new
company (Customers, Collaborators and Shareholders) satisfied
with providing better products and services, as well as to satisfy the
needs and requirements of all, to accomplish full satisfaction.

of materials in Latin American markets
The Welding Products Market in Latin America is undergoing an
interesting growth and welding consumables have been a part of this:
exports of welding consumables account for 20% of our sales. Markets
where we are present and hold an increasing market share are
Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Guatemala,
and we even export occasionally to Sudan. Our success is basically the
result of two major factors: one, the quality of our products and the
other the technical service that we provide in every country where we
operate, offering a wide portfolio of products that have been used in
recent projects developed in the Latin American region. Our prestige has
already crossed borders, and we have become a major player in Central
and South America, offering not only a good product but good lead
times. Our lead times are quite short, so our network of distributors in
every country can have stocks almost immediately and thus meet their
planning requirements.
