La Cuaresma nos llama a la conversión, a la cual deberíamos estar
dedicados toda el año. En muchas parroquias latinas la cuaresma
también es tiempo de misiones. De niño recuerdo haber participado
cada año en las misiones de mi parroquia. Escuchábamos a los
predicadores con curiosidad, ya que aparecían solo una vez al año
y luego se regresaban a lugares lejanos y desconocidos. Nunca
imagine que algún día yo también estuviera como predicador de
misiones. Me gustaría darles un resumen del mensaje que he sembrado en varias parroquias. Las misiones no son para repetir doctrina, sino para evangelizar a los bautizados. Con cinco temas se puede evangelizar a los bautizados recordándoles los cinco puntos
claves del Evangelio cristiano: 1) Dios nos ama y nos hizo para él;
2) Nosotros hemos pecado y sufrimos las consecuencias; 3) Dios
nos manda a su Hijo para librarnos del mal; 4) Jesús desea formar
parte de nuestras vidas personales, ¡invitémoslo! y 5) Jesús llena
nuestro corazón con el poder y la presencia de su Espíritu. Este
mensaje es uno de conversión y esperanza.

INFORMACIÓN PARROQUIAL
Voluntarios y Empleados
Cada año, todo el clero, empleados, profesores y voluntarios que supervisan, que trabajan o que interactúan con los menores de edad deben completar la Guía para adultos que se Interrelacionan con Menores
en Actividades o Eventos de la Parroquia/Escuela. Sin completar este
documento, los adultos no pueden supervisar, trabajar o interactuar con
menores. Usted puede obtener una copia de la Guía para adultos visitando la oficina parroquial o visitando el sitio web de la Parroquia y
haciendo clic en el enlace de Safeguard the Children. Además, los
adultos se les permite interactuar a solas con menores / menores de
edad sólo después de cumplir con las pólizas de la Arquidiócesis de
las huellas digitales y el entrenamiento de un ambiente seguro. Pueden
trabajar con menores de edad sólo como parte de un equipo si no han
cumplido esos requisitos. Fechas, horarios y lugares de entrenamiento

GUÍA PARA AYUNO Y
ABSTINENCIA EN CUARESMA
ABSTINENCIA: La abstinencia es una práctica penitencial
que consiste en abstenerse del consumo de carne. Dicha práctica
debe ser observada por todos los católicos mayores de 14
años de edad. Para el Miércoles de Ceniza, el Viernes Santo, y
todos los viernes de Cuaresma, se les pide a los padres de familia
y a los párrocos que motiven a los niños, a quienes no les obliga
el ayuno y la abstinencia, a que aprecien el verdadero sentido de
la penitencia.
AYUNO: Además de la abstinencia, el ayuno también debe
observarse por todos los católicos que tienen entre 18 a 59
años de edad. Se permite una comida completa en los días de
ayuno. Asimismo, se pueden tener dos comidas pequeñas,
suficientes para mantener las fuerzas, y que juntas no igualen
la porción de una comida completa. No se permite ingerir
alimentos sólidos entre comidas, sólo líquidos. Nota: para quien
no pueda observar tales regulaciones debido a enfermedad u
otras razones serias, se le exhorta a que practique otras formas
de abstinencia de acuerdo a su situación.
