Dear Friends and Parishioners,
May God who is the source of all joy be with you
always!
I wrote last weekend about the inconvenience that
changes may bring to our lives. I wonder what changes you
might have struggled with during the last few days personally, or changes that you dealt with at home, at work or
maybe in our faith community. I hope that they brought
you a positive outcome in spite of frustrations that may
have been encountered along the way. I guess the important question stays the same: What do these changes
make of us? We know for a fact that not many of us can
positively accept changes right away, except of course for
a baby who has a wet diaper that calls attention for a new
one. Otherwise, we find ourselves struggling to cope with
the demanding phase of self-renewal and conversion. As
Cardinal Henry Newman mentioned in one of his writings,
“our encounter with change leads us to perfection.” I believe that there is truth to that line of thinking, as we compare change to a work of an artist that is made perfect after
a long process of trial. So then, how do we respond to
changes?
Very recently, we moved the baptismal font to the
middle of the church. It was also noticeable that the holy
water fonts were empty. There were various reactions.
Some were frustrated: “Father, how come those little buckets of holy water were empty!!! Since when did we remove
holy water in churches?” Some were curious: “Is that intentional that we do not have holy water by the doors of the
church?” ---We viewed the situation differently. Some people reacted, others responded while some others were not
really bothered at all. So what is the rationale behind the
empty buckets of holy water?
Since the explanation is rather lengthy, I would
prefer to explain it after our Sunday Masses. I ask you to
please relay the information to those who might not be
around when I respond to this question regarding the
“why” of an empty holy water bowls by the entrances of
the church.
I would like to thank Margarita Niemec for her
dedication to various ministries in the parish. She received
an award of recognition last Friday evening during the Noche de Gala Ceremony. The evening of recognition was
dedicated to members of various parishes in the Archdiocese who were strongly involved in the Hispanic Ministry.
I am sure that there are others who are also involved in
various ministries in the parish and we are also aware that
there are those who best represent the ministry, and Margarita is one of them.
Finally, we tried to fix the speakers at the back of
the church during the week. I hope that those of you who
sit by the baptismal font would give me a feedback whether the speakers work properly. There are still some other
odds and ends that we need to finish around the church
sanctuary. I thank you for your patience and collaboration
whenever we encounter inconvenience. I will see you next
weekend.

Queridos amigos y feligreses,
Que Dios que es la fuente de toda alegría esté
siempre con vosotros!
Yo escribí la semana pasada acerca de la inconveniencia de que los cambios pueden traer a nuestras vidas.
Me pregunto qué cambios podría haber luchado con durante los últimos días, personalmente, o cambios que tratamos
en el hogar, en el trabajo o tal vez en nuestra comunidad de
fe. Espero que te pueden traer un resultado positivo en las
frustraciones rencor que podríamos encontrado en el camino. Supongo que la pregunta importante siendo el mismo: ¿Qué esos cambios hacen de nosotros? Sabemos a
ciencia cierta que no muchos de nosotros podemos aceptar
positivamente los cambios de inmediato, excepto por supuesto para un bebé que tiene el pañal mojado que llama la
atención por una nueva. De lo contrario, nos encontramos
luchando para hacer frente a la fase exigente de autorenovación y conversión. Como Cardenal Henry Newman
menciona en uno de sus escritos, "nuestro encuentro con el
cambio nos lleva a la perfección." Creo que hay una verdad
en esa línea de pensamiento al comparar el cambio a una
obra de un artista que se hace perfecto después de un largo
proceso de ensayo. Entonces, ¿cómo respondemos a los

que esos pequeños baldes de agua bendita estaban vacías !!! Desde cuándo quitamos el agua bendita en las iglesias "Algunos eran curiosos:"? Es eso intencional que no
tenemos agua bendita por las puertas de la iglesia "--- Vimos la situación de manera diferente. Algunas personas
reaccionaron, otros respondieron, mientras que otros realmente no nos molestó en absoluto. Entonces, ¿cuál es la
razón de ser de los cubos vacíos de agua bendita?
Desde la explicación es bastante largo, yo prefiero
explicarlo después de las misas dominicales. Les pido que
por favor transmitir la información a los que no pudieron
estar cerca cuando respondo a esta pregunta sobre el "por
qué" de un vacío cuencos de agua bendita por las entradas
de la iglesia.

Me gustaría dar las gracias a Margarita Niemec
por su dedicación a distintos ministerios en la parroquia. Ella recibió un premio de reconocimiento el
pasado viernes por la noche durante la Noche de Gala.
La noche de reconocimiento fue dedicado a los miembros de diversas parroquias de la Arquidiócesis que estaban fuertemente involucrados en el ministerio hispano. Estoy seguro de que hay otros que también están
involucrados en diversos ministerios en la parroquia y
también somos conscientes de que no son los que mejor
representan el ministerio, y Margarita es uno de ellos.
Por último, tratamos de arreglar los altavoces
en la parte posterior de la iglesia durante la semana.
Espero que aquellos de ustedes que se sientan por la
pila bautismal me daría una evaluación de si los altavoces funcionan correctamente. Todavía hay algunas otras
probabilidades y termina que necesitamos para terminar
alrededor del santuario de la iglesia. Le doy las gracias
por su paciencia y colaboración cada vez nos encontramos con molestias. Nos vemos el próximo fin de semana. Que tengan una semana bendecida.

PADS
St Mary’s PADS site is now open. Once again I am calling
on your generosity to help the homeless. The site depends on
donations of cash, gently used clothing and personal care
items. New long underwear and socks are always needed. Most of the PADS clients are men so large size sweatshirts and jackets are needed. A bin will be placed at the
parking lot exit of our church, for your convenience. You
can, also, drop donations off at St Mary’s on Center St on
Friday evenings between 6:00PM & 7:00PM. Barbara

El sitio PADS de Santa María está ahora abierto en Octubre.
Una vez más hago un llamado a su generosidad para ayudar
a las personas sin hogar. El sitio depende de las donaciones
de dinero en efectivo, con poco ropa usada(en buen estado) y
artículos para el cuidado personal. Ropa interior larga nueva

Parish Transformation continued this week, with 13 parishioners in attendance. The two major topics of this session
were “Mission at the Heart of Parish Life” and taking time
to review our parish history and current situation.
Transformación Parroquia continuó esta semana, con 13
feligreses que asistieron. Los dos principales temas de esta
sesión fueron "Misión en el corazón de la vida parroquial"
y tomando el tiempo para revisar nuestra historia de la parroquia y de la situación actual.

** All Saints Mass will be at 8:30am on Saturday, November
1st.
** All Soul’s Mass will be at 7pm on Monday, November 3rd.
** Baptismal Preparation Class is scheduled for Monday, October 13th at 7pm in the Parish Center. Please call the office to
