IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be taken including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using appliance.
2. To avoid fire and shock hazard, plug the appliance
directly into an electrical outlet with the same voltage
as that indicated on the rating plate on your product.
3. If the filter is covered by a bag when shipped, remove
plastic bag before use.
4. Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire
hazard NEVER put the cord under rugs, near heat
registers, radiators, stoves or heaters.
5. To protect against electrical hazards DO NOT
immerse in water or other liquids. Do not use near
water.
6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is
used by, or near children or disabled persons.
7. Always unplug the air purifier before moving it, opening
the grill, changing the filters or whenever the air purifier is
not in use. Be sure to pull by the plug and not the cord.
8. NEVER drop or insert any object into any openings.
9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or
plug, if motor fan fails to rotate, after the appliance
malfunctions, or if it has been dropped or damaged in
any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for
examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment or repair.
10.Use appliance only for the intended household use as
described in this manual. Any other use not recommended
by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury
to persons. The use of attachments not recommended or
sold by the manuafacturer may cause hazards.
11.Do not use outdoors.
12.Never block the air openings, or place on soft surface,
such as bed or sofa, as this could cause the unit to
tip over thus blocking the air intake opening.
13.Keep unit from heated surfaces and open flames.
14.DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or
mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void
the warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user
serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed
by qualified personnel only.
15.WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical
shock, DO NOT use this air purifier with any solidstate speed control device.
16.DO NOT place anything on top of the unit.

HOW THE AIR PURIFIER WORKS
Dirty, dust laden air is drawn through the rear of the air
purifier and through the multi-stage filtration system.
1. The carbon filter will help clear odors making the air
cleaner and fresher.
2. The HEPA-type filter entraps 99% of all smaller visible
and non-visible particles down to 2 microns in size.
PRODUCT FEATURES
Filter Life Indicator
Your air purifier has an indicator light (E) that illuminates
when its time to change the filters.
Ionizer
Your Bionaire™ Air Purifier has an independently
controlled ionizer, which when turned on, releases
negative ions into the outgoing filtered air. Ions are tiny
particles that carry either a positive or negative charge.
These ions exist naturally all around us in the air, water
and ground. Both positive and negative ions are
colorless, odorless and completely harmless. Negative
ions help the air purification process by attaching
themselves to very small airborne particles in the room.
These particles take on a negative charge and may join
with positively charged particles, such as dust, pollen,
smoke and pet dander to form larger particles that are
then more readily captured by the filter system, or they
may be attracted to positively charged surfaces like walls
or floors.
You may also note, after extended use, that dust may
have collected around the grills or front panel.
This is from the ionization effect caused by the negative
ions exiting from the air outlet.This dust does not come
from the air output, but is drawn out of the uncleaned air
going past the air outlet.
This is additional evidence of the air cleaning
effectiveness of negative ions. The dust can be easily
removed with a clean, dampened cloth or soft brush.
NOTE: it is important to change the HEPA-type filter at
recommended intervals. Using the ionizer in conjunction
with dirty filters may result in dirty particles exiting the air
purifier and being attracted to walls, carpets, furniture
and other household objects. These dirty particles may
prove very difficult to remove.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. After removing the unit from the box, remove the
plastic covering from the unit.
2. Select a firm level place where there are no
obstructions to the air inlet (rear grill) (A) or filtered air
outlet (D).
3. Remove the inlet grill by pulling the grill (A) towards
you.
4. Remove both HEPA-type filters (C) by gripping on
both sides and pulling forward.
5. Remove protective plastic bag from each filter
cartridge. Install the filter clip to the HEPA-type filters.
The filter clip can only be attached to the hang tabs
on the filter one way (see fig 2). The filter clip should
easily slide onto the filter hang tabs. Do not use force
whilst attaching the filter clip to the filter. Align the clip
on the HEPA-type filter with the rails on the inside of
the unit (see fig. 3).
NOTE: The pleated material and rubber gasket
should be facing towards the unit when applied.
6. Replace the inlet grill by sliding back on to the unit.
Make sure that it snaps securely into position (the grill
only goes on one way).
NOTE: Do not point outlet towards wall.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CONTROL
PANEL AND REMOTE CONTROL
1. Plug into electrical outlet with the same voltage as
that indicated on the rating plate on your product.
2. Press the Power button (
). The unit will turn onto
high and the power light (J) will illuminate letting you
know the power is on.
3. You can then select the desired speed setting. This air
purifier has three speed settings. You can select from
HIGH (
), MEDIUM (
), or LOW (
) by
pushing the desired operating speed button on the
control panel or the remote control.
4. To release negative ions into the filtered air, press the
ionizer button (
) to ON and the light will illuminate.
5. For optimum air filtration, it is recommended to
operate the air purifier continuously. Its rugged motor
has been designed to give many years of use.
For continuous use, it’s recommended to operate the air
purifier at the MEDIUM setting. For quieter operation or
use in a bedroom, select the LOW setting. When high
levels of air pollution are present, select the HIGH setting
to quickly circulate and filter the room air.
REMOTE CONTROL
Your remote control requires (2) AAA batteries for
operation. To install the batteries, simply depress and
slide the back of the remote control with your thumb on
the arrow indentation. Insert batteries according to the
diagram shown inside and replace cover.
• DO NOT mix old and new batteries.
• DO NOT mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or
rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Turn the air purifier off and unplug it before cleaning.
2. The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a
soft, clean dampened cloth.
3. The filtered air outlet on the top of the unit can be
cleaned of dust with a small, soft brush.
4. If you wish to clean the inside of the air purifier, please
only use a dry, soft cloth to wipe it down.
FILTER REPLACEMENT
IMPORTANT: IN ORDER TO RETAIN THE EFFICIENCY
OF YOUR AIR PURIFIER, THE HEPA-TYPE FILTER
NEEDS TO BE CHANGED EVERY 6-9 MONTHS.
1. Every few weeks check the condition of the pre-filter (B).
2. Remove the inlet grill (A). If the foam pre-filter has
collected a noticeable amount of dust, remove it from
the inlet of the grill and wash it in warm soapy water.

Rinse and dry the pre-filter thoroughly before replacing
it in the inlet of the grill.
With the inlet grill (A) removed, remove the HEPA-type
cartridge (C) and dispose in the dustbin. DO NOT try
to wash and re-use the HEPA-type filter. Replace with
a new HEPA-type filter-BAPF30 removing the
protective plastic bag before inserting into the air
purifier.
Install the filter clip to the HEPA-type filters. The filter
clip can only be attached in one direction (see fig. 2).
The filter clip should easily slide onto the filter hang
tabs. Do not use force while attaching the filter clip to
the filter. Align the clip on the side of your HEPA-type
filter with the rails on the inside of the unit.
NOTE: The pleated material and rubber gasket
should be facing towards the unit when applied.

filter onto the rails (see fig. 3).

The filter life indicator light (E) should be reset once
the HEPA-type filters have been replaced. Reset the
indicator by pressing the Power button (
) on the
control panel for 2 seconds.

Cuando se utiliza cualquier artefacto eléctrico siempre se
deben seguir precauciones básicas de seguridad,
incluyendo las siguientes:
1. Lea estas instrucciones por completo antes de utilizar
el artefacto.
2. Para protegerse contra una descarga eléctrica,
enchufe el cable en un tomacorriente que cuente con
el mismo voltaje que indica la placa del artefacto.
3. Si el filtro viniese envuelto en una bolsa plástica,
retírela antes de utilizar el filtro.
4. Mantenga el cable alejado de las áreas de alto tráfico,
para evitar el riesgo de fuego o descarga eléctrica,
NUNCA coloque el cable debajo de alfombras o cerca
de salidas de calor.
5. Para protegerse contra descargas eléctricas, NO
sumerja la unidad en agua ni en ningún otro líquido.
No utilice este artefacto cerca de agua.
6. Se necesita supervisión cercana cuando un artefacto
eléctrico está siendo utilizado por niños o cerca de
ellos, así como por personas incapacitadas.
7. Siempre desenchufe esta unidad antes de moverla,
abrirle la rejilla, cambiarle el filtro o cuando no esté en
uso. Asegúrese de desenchufar la unidad halando por
el enchufe y no por el cable.
8. NUNCA deje caer ni inserte ningún objeto por las

10.NO utilice este artefacto para otro propósito que no
sea para el que ha sido diseñado. Si el artefacto no
se utiliza como se recomienda podría causar el riesgo
de fuego, descarga eléctrica o daños personales. El
uso de accesorios no recomendados por el fabricante
podrían causar incendios, descargas eléctricas o
lesiones corporales.
11.NO lo utilice al aire libre.
12.NUNCA bloquee las aberturas de aire en forma
alguna ni coloque la unidad sobre superficies blandas,
como una cama o sofá, ya que podría voltearse
bloqueando la abertura de entrada de aire.
13.Mantenga la unidad alejada de superficies calientes o
de llamas abiertas.
14.NUNCA intente reparar o ajustar ningún componente
eléctrico o mecánico de la unidad. En este caso la
garantía quedaría anulada. El purificador de aire
cuenta con partes internas que no se pueden reparar.
Todos los servicios de reparación deben de ser
realizados por una persona calificada.
15.ADVERTENCIA: Para reducir el riesgo de incendio o
choque eléctrico, NO UTILICE este purificador con
ningún dispositivo de estado sólido para control de
velocidad.

COMO FUNCIONA SU PURIFICADOR DE AIRE
El aire cargado de polvo y sucio entra a través de la rejilla
del purificador de aire y pasa por los múltiples niveles del
sistema de filtración.
1. El filtro de carbón ayuda a eliminar los olores desagradables
haciendo que el aire esté más limpio y fresco.
2. El filtro tipo-HEPA atrapa el 99% de las partículas
pequeñas, tanto visibles como no visibles, de hasta 2
micrones en tamaño.
CARACTERISTICAS DEL PRODUCTO
Indicador de la Vida del Filtro
Su purificador de aire cuenta con una luz indicadora (E)
que se ilumina cuando es tiempo de cambiar los filtros.
Ionizador
Su Purificador de Aire posee un ionizador controlado
independientemente, el cual, cuando se enciende libera
iones negativos en el aire filtrado de salida. Los iones son
pequeñas partículas que poseen una carga positiva o
negativa. Estos iones existen naturalmente alrededor
nuestro, en el aire, el agua y el suelo. Ambos iones
positivos y negativos son incoloros, no tienen olor y
son completamente inofensivos. Los iones negativos
ayudan al proceso de purificación al adherirse a
partículas muy pequeñas que flotan en el aire del
ambiente. Estas partículas adquieren una carga negativa
y pueden unirse a partículas cargadas positivamente
como el polvo, polen, humo y caspa de las mascotas
formando partículas más grandes las cuales pueden ser
capturadas más fácilmente por el sistema de filtrado, o
pueden ser atraídas por superficies cargadas
positivamente como las paredes o el piso. Esto puede
ocurrir más frecuentemente cuando el filtro esté cerca del
final de su vida útil y capture menos partículas cargadas.
También puede notar, luego de mucho tiempo de uso,
una acumulación de polvo alrededor de las rejillas o del
panel frontal. Esto es causado por los iones negativos
que salen por la salida de aire. Esta es una prueba
adicional de la efectividad de los iones negativos en la
limpieza del aire. El polvo puede quitarse fácilmente con
un trapo limpio y húmedo, o con un cepillo suave.
NOTA: Es importante reemplazar el filtro HEPA al tiempo
recomendado. El uso del ionizador con filtros sucios
puede hacer que salgan partículas sucias del purificador
de aire y se adhieran a las paredes, alfombra, muebles u
otros objetos.
INSTRUCCIONES ANTES DE UTILIZAR SU
PURIFICADOR DE AIRE
1. Una vez que retire la unidad de la caja, remueva la
cobertura de plástico de la unidad.
2. Seleccione un lugar firme y nivelado, donde no haya
ninguna obstrucción en la entrada de aire (rejilla
trasera) (A) o en la salida del aire filtrado (D).
3. Remueva la rejilla de entrada (A) halándola hacia
usted.
4. Remueva ambos filtros tipo-HEPA (C) agarrándolos
por los lados y halándolos hacia adelante.
5. Remueva la bolsa de plástico protectora de cada uno
de los cartuchos del filtro, instale el sujetador del filtro
a los filtros tipo-HEPA. El sujetador del filtro sólo se
puede colocar en las lengüetas sostenedoras del filtro
de una sola manera (ver fig 2). El sujetador del filtro
deberá deslizarse fácilmente dentro de estas
lengüetas sostenedoras. No use fuerza para
colocarlo. Alinee el sujetador en los filtros tipo-HEPA
con los rieles hacia adentro de la unidad (ver fig. 3).
NOTA: El material plegado y el marco de goma del
filtro deberán ser colocados mirando hacia la unidad
cuando se coloquen los filtros.
6. Vuelva a colocar la rejilla de entrada deslizándola
hacia abajo en la unidad. Asegúrese de que quede
bien asegurada en su posición. (La rejilla sólo puede
ser colocada de una manera).
NOTA: No apunte la salida del aire hacia la pared.
INSTRUCCIONES PARA OPERAR EL PANEL DE
CONTROL Y EL CONTROL REMOTO
1. Enchufe en un tomacorriente que cuente con el
mismo voltaje que se indica en la placa del artefacto.
2. Presione el botón de encendido ( ). La unidad se
encenderá automáticamente en velocidad alta y la luz
de encendido (J) se iluminará dejándole saber que la
unidad está prendida.
3. Usted puede seleccionar la velocidad deseada. Este
purificador de aire cuenta con tres ajustes de
velocidad, permitiéndole escoger entre ALTA (
),
MEDIANA ( ), o BAJA ( ) presionando la velocidad
que desee en el panel de control o en el control
remoto.
4. Para liberar los iones negativos del aire filtrado,
presione el botón ionizador ( ) para colocarlo en
encendido (ON) inmediatamente se prenderá la luz.
5. Para una óptima filtración del aire se recomienda que
opere su purificador de aire continuamente. Su
poderoso motor ha sido diseñado para brindarle
muchos años de uso. Para un uso continuo, se
recomienda operar el purificador de aire a velocidad
MEDIANA. Para una operación más silenciosa o
cuando lo utilice en una habitación, seleccione la
velocidad BAJA. Cuando altos niveles de
contaminación estén presentes, seleccione la
velocidad ALTA para una rápida circulación y filtración
del aire de la habitación.
CONTROL REMOTO
Su control remoto requiere (2) baterías AAA para operar.
Para instalar las baterías, simplemente presione y deslice
la parte de atrás del control remoto con su dedo,
colocado en la hendidura de la flecha. Inserte las baterías
de acuerdo al diagrama mostrado en la parte interna y
vuelva a colocar la tapa.
• NUNCA combine baterías viejas con baterías nuevas
• NUNCA combine baterías alcalinas con baterías
estándar (carbón-zinc) o recargables (níquel-cadmio)
LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
1. Coloque el purificador de aire en la posición de
apagado y desenchúfelo antes de limpiarlo.
2. Usted puede limpiar la parte externa de su purificador
de aire con un paño suave, limpio y húmedo.
3. También puede limpiar con un cepillo suave el polvo
acumulado en la salida del aire filtrado de la parte
superior de la unidad.
4. Si desea limpiar su purificador de aire por dentro, por
favor utilice solamente un paño seco y suave.
REEMPLAZO DEL FILTRO
IMPORTANTE: PARA MANTENER LA EFICIENCIA DE SU
PURIFICADOR DE AIRE, EL FILTRO TIPO- HEPA
NECESITA SER CAMBIADO CADA 6-9 MESES.
1. Cada ciertas semanas examine la condición del prefiltro (B).
2. Remueva la rejilla de entrada (A). Si la espuma del
pre-filtro ha colectado una notoria cantidad de polvo,
remuévalo de la rejilla de entrada y lávelo con agua
jabonosa. Enjuague y seque el pre-filtro
minuciosamente antes de volverlo a colocar en su
lugar.
3. Una vez retirada la rejilla de entrada (A, remueva el
cartucho del filtro tipo-HEPA (C) y deséchelo
botándolo en el cubo de basura. NO intente lavarlo y
volverlo a usar. Reemplace con un nuevo filtro tipoHEPA BAPF30, retirando la bolsa de plástico
protectora antes de insertarlo dentro del purificador
de aire.
4. Instale el sujetador del filtro a el filtro tipo-HEPA. El
sujetador del filtro puede ser colocado solamente de
una manera (ver fig. 2).
El sujetador del filtro debe deslizarse fácilmente por
las lengüetas sujetadoras. No use fuerza para
colocarlo. Alinee el sujetador en el filtro tipo-HEPA con
los rieles hacia adentro de la unidad.
NOTA: El material plegado y el marco de goma deben
ser colocados mirando hacia la unidad cuando se
coloque el filtro.
5. Alinee el sujetador en el filtro tipo-HEPA con los rieles
hacia adentro de la unidad. Deslice con cuidado el
filtro por los rieles (ver fig. 3).
6. Vuelva a colocar la rejilla de entrada deslizándola
hacia abajo en la unidad. Asegúrese de que quede
bien ajustada en su posición. (La rejilla sólo puede ser
colocada de una manera).
NOTE: No apunte la salida del aire hacia la pared.
7. La luz indicadora del filtro (E) deberá ser reajustada
una vez que los filtros tipo-HEPA hayan sido
reemplazados. Reajuste la luz indicadora
presionando el botón de encendido ( ) en el panel
de control por 2 segundos.
