STEWARDSHIP WORD OF WISDOM/PALABRAS DE SABIDURIA
Today we celebrate the birth of St.
John the Baptist. This prophet, who
practiced austerity in the desert,
proclaimed the kingdom of God, a
coming judgment, and baptism as a
sign of repentance. With profound
humility, John directed attention not
to himself but to Jesus. John’s attitude
was, “He must increase, I must
decrease” (John 3:30). John’s birth, days after the
summer solstice when daylight hours begin to
decrease, contrasts with Jesus birth days after the
winter solstice heralding daylight’s increase. Like
John the Baptist, stewards turn attention away from
themselves and towards Jesus. The stewardship
question for us is whether or not we ourselves are
prepared to “decrease” and allow Jesus to “increase”
in our hearts, minds, words and actions.
Hoy celebramos el nacimiento de San Juan
Bautista. Este profeta, quien practice la
austeridad en el desierto, proclamó el reino
de Dios, la llegada de un juicio, y el
bautismo como signo de arrepentimiento.
Con profunda humildad, Juan dirigió la
atención, no hacia si mismo, sino hacia
Jesús. La actitud de Juan fué, “es necesario
que el crezca y yo disminuya”(Juan 3:30).
El nacimiento de Juan, unos dias despues
del solsticio de verano, cuando las horas de la luz del dia
empiezan a decrecer, contrasta con el nacimiento de
Jesús, unos dias despues del solsticio del invierno
anunciando el incremento de la luz del dia. Como Juan
Bautista, los corresponsables tornan la atención lejos de

These are 6 ft., rectangular folding tables. Many of them have minimal to
moderate damage on the table top; however, all the frames are in good

EDUCATION EXPENSE TAX CREDITS - GRACE SCHOLARS
The Georgia Dept. of Revenue is approving education expense tax credits at a rapid
pace. As of May 25, the DOR had approved $24.5 million in tax credits. (For the latest
figure on tax credit approvals, visit the GRACE home page at www.gracescholars.org.)
In 2011, the tax credit cap was met in November. This year, the cap is likely to be met
in June—if not sooner. In 2011, 2,700 Georgia taxpayers were denied participation in
the education expense tax credit program. Included in this number were more than
500 GRACE-affiliated taxpayers. Don’t let this happen to you in 2012! Apply today for your tax
credit approval.
