On a number of occasions you have heard me say that we have the best ministers in the diocese—you are on time and prepared for your assignments and you are always cooperative. Making your weekly assignments can sometimes be challenging. Over the past few months Father Gildea has done a remarkable job getting your schedules out with very few – if any – challenges. We will now work on the July to September schedule—hopefully they will be ready by June 22. If you are planning a well deserved vacation this summer—please let Fr Gildea know so he can adjust the schedule now. Please let him know your plans before June 10th. I am happy to let you know that more than 20 of our parishioners recently signed up to be a lector or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. This is another blessing to our parish. Please welcome them when you see them, help them when they need it and don’t be afraid of offering construc‐ tive criticism in charity. Like last year, let’s come together as a group for prayer, food and some sharing on Wednesday, September 14th at 6:30 p.m. We will start in the chapel with prayer and end in the rectory garden with some delicious food, drink and music! I will remind you of this date again in early September. I wish you all a wonderful summer and remind you that you’re always in my prayers—please keep me in yours as well. Sinceramente, Padre Rick Beuther WORDS OF GRADITUDE FROM FR. GILDEA / PALABRAS DE AGRADECIMIENTO DE P. GILDEA This month of May has been filled with celebrations, one only gets to a Golden Jubilee once and I have enjoyed the festivities. Each year the bishop has a dinner for the silver and golden Jubilanians. Also the seminary at Huntington hosts a vespers service and dinner for the priest of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre. My personal celebrations were a concelebrated mass with my ordination day classmates followed by a reception for our families. Last weekend May 28-29, was really the highlight of a month of rejoicing, the mass on Sunday had been scheduled and announced well in advance. What was really a surprise was the dinner on Saturday night. It was a total surprise! I thank Fr. Rick, all the staff at St. Bartholomew and especially all who participated. I have had a wonderful priesthood and the time at St Bartholomew has been most special. Thank you; let us continue to pray for one another. Fr. Gildea’s Golden Jubilee Celebration BIBLE STUDY CLASSES IN ENGLISH!
