An example I often use to
illustrate the reality of vanity, is
this: look at the peacock; it's
beautiful if you look at it from
the front. But if you look at it
from behind, you discover the truth. Whoever gives
in to such self-absorbed vanity has huge misery
hiding inside them.

Interested in being Catholic?
Catholic…Divorced…Now What?
New Session Starting
It has been said that we are truly divorced only when we
finally let go of our marriage, mourn our loss, and adjust
ourselves to our new life. At St. Paul, our Divorce Care Group
exists to help one another do just that. This is a Catholic based
peer-ministry support group designed to help guide men and
women through the process of divorce. The program explores
the stress, anger, blame and guilt of divorce with the goal of
leading participants toward ultimate forgiveness, happiness
and growth. Plans are to begin a new Monday evening group
in early October. Contact Heidi if you are interested in
participating: [email protected] or 281.333-3891.
Does your Catechism Still Fit?
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more
about becoming Catholic, our RCIA program is just the ticket!
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a process of
prayer, reflection, and
learning that allows for the
continual discernment of
God's will. Want more
information? Contact
Heidi Clark, 281.333.3891, ext. 328 or
[email protected]
Chances are the catechism you studied when you prepared for
your confirmation was meant to meet the faith needs of a
young teenager. But you’ve grown since then and have a
whole lifetime of adult experiences that need integration and
understanding. Grow in your faith by participating in this
interesting, interactive study, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the
month. Sessions begin Tuesday, September 9, at 7:30 PM in
Room 10, led by author, teacher, and theologian Julie DiennoDemarest. Participants bring a Bible and catechism for adults.
New Bible Study in the Fall
Thanks to the dedication of a generous and prayerful group of
parishioners, a supply of prayer shawls are available for your
loved ones who are struggling with illness, isolation, grief,
aging, or other issues. These shawls are knit by volunteers
who, as they are doing so, are praying for whomever will
receive the shawl. These are free and available in a range of
colors and styles. If you or someone you know would benefit
from receiving a shawl, call Heidi at 281.333.3891, Ext. 328.
Do you really know Christ? Do you understand the work He
did after his resurrection to empower believers and build the
Church? Learn more and grow in understanding by
participating in the Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom Bible
Study beginning Wednesday, September 10, at 7 PM in Room
1. The study unfolds over 20 sessions and will wrap up in midFebruary. The cost to participate is $30, which includes study
guide, work book, and other
supplies. It’s good to have your
own Bible for class, too, but
you can also borrow one from
the adult ministry room.
Registration forms are available
at the Welcome Center.
Prayer Shawls Available
Upcoming NFP Intro Classes
Free introductory sessions for the Creighton Method of NFP

School is now back in session, so let’s all
keep a watchful eye for our smallest
pedestrians while out driving through the
parking lot.
Safety tips:
Sending your child to school in shoes that
tie or Velcro makes them less likely to have
accidents than if they were to wear sandals,
clogs, or flip flops. Also, mulch from our
playground gets into open toed shoes and
hurts your little one’s feet. Try to avoid
things that may get caught in playground
equipment like cords, strings and baggy
clothing.
We still have a few openings in our preschool. Don’t let your little one miss out on a
fun and exciting school year!

¼ cup skim milk
1 tbsp honey
