Y TÚ, ¿CON QUÉ SUEÑAS?
NATURAL COLLECTION _
Estrenamos campaña de publicidad con Folk, el nuevo sofá de
Sancal diseñado por Rafa García. En un contexto de fantasía e
imágenes soñadas, Folk resalta sobre el resto de aspiraciones
que alimentan nuestras pasiones como un deseo factible. Con
el lema Y tú, ¿con qué sueñas?, la campaña comienza en
España con AD, Neo2 y Diseño Interior entre otras. Poblada de
referencias visuales, nos transporta a los universos secretos de
un rebelde capitán sin navío o de una aventurera astronauta
en tierra. Pero la cosa no queda solo en las revistas. Con motivo de esta onírica campaña promovimos un divertido concurso de “Cuenta Sueños” en nuestro perfil de Facebook.
AND, WHAT DO YOU DREAM ABOUT?
We launch a new advertising campaign with Folk, the new sofa
designed by Rafa García for Sancal. In a world of fantasy and
dreamt images, Folk stands out from the rest - as a feasible desire.
With the motto And, what do you dream about? the campaign
begins in Spain with AD, Neo2 and Diseño Interior among others.
The images are inhabited by visual cues, transporting us through
our dreams. However, that is not everything. On the occasion
of this oneiric campaign, an enjoyable contest gave rise in our
Facebook profile.
DE FERIA EN FERIA Y TIRO POR
QUE ME TOCA!
QUBIQUE
Estuvimos presentes en la nueva y cosmopolita feria de Qubique.
Ubicada en el reciclado aeropuerto de Tempelhof, durante estos
días pudimos respirar esa nostálgica modernidad de finales de los
años 50’. Grandes vigas de hierro y bloques de hormigón, el entorno industrial perfecto para mostrar la Natural Collection al público
alemán. La apuesta fue crear mini escaparates en torno a un color
para mimetizar los productos con el espacio expositivo. Un stand
concurrido, alegre y colorista que compartimos con Enea. Además
estuvimos presentes en el stand de LZF-lamps con un sofá Folk en
riguroso blanco. Estamos muy satisfechos de ambas colaboraciones.
QUBIQUE
We exhibited our products together at the new and cosmopolitan
Qubique fair. Located in the historic, revamped, Tempelholf Airport,
we could feel the nostalgia for the 1950s, the modernity which epitomised those days. Large steel beams and concrete blocks were the
perfect industrial environment for showing the Natural Collection
to the German public. The idea was to create mini-windows around
a colour, to match the products to the exhibition space: a crowded
stand, joyful and colourful, which we shared with Enea. Also, we
were present on the LZF-lamps stand with a white Folk sofa. We are
delighted with the success of both collaborations.

Regresaron ya de su gira por las tierras Londinenses nuestros aclamados Tabs y Tea… Nosotros no pudimos acompañarlos, aunque
estuvieron muy bien respaldados por sus diseñadores: Nadadora y
José Manuel Ferrero de Estudihac.
Sancal estuvo presente en la Feria 100% Design y en una de las
muchas actividades que tuvieron lugar por el centro de Londres.
En la exposición Multiplicity, cuyo objetivo era mostrar la visión
de las ciudades en las que habitan los 5 estudios de diseño participantes, los Tabs contribuyeron a que Nadadora mostrara su
particular visión de Valencia. Y en la feria, las butacas y sillas Tea
se encontraron como en casa en el stand donde ICEX reunió una
cuidada selección de productos españoles.

Tea and Tab came back from their tour on London soil…
although we could not accompany them they were very well
supported by their designers: José Manuel Ferrero from estudihac;
and Nadadora.
Both inside and outside the fair, Sancal was there with its presence. In events happening around the city, such as the Multiplicity
exhibition, Tab received countless compliments from its many
visitors. This show consisted of five designers from around the
world giving their vision of the cities where they live, through design. At 100% Design, Tea chairs and armchairs, were also striking
- and they felt as at home - on the stand where ICEX had gathered
a selection of Spanish products.

DESIGNER’S WEEK

El 6 de Noviembre ya pasó y con él la exposición Spainalight. Por
el momento se apagó la luz en Tokio, y muy a nuestro pesar, la
exposición Spainalight partió del país del sol naciente de regreso
a España. La exposición albergó a 43 diseñadores y a 52 empresas
españolas de la mano de ICEX. A lo largo de seis días, los visitantes
han podido admirar los diseños de profesionales españoles de primera fila como Patricia Urquiola, Mario Ruiz, Luis Eslava, Jaime Hayón, Nadadora, José Manuel Ferrero, Odosdesign, etc. Entre ellos
Sancal estuvo representada por las butacas Pio-Pio, los paneles
Tea y las banquetas Tab que, entre luces y sombras, se mostraron
más cómodos que nunca.
SPAINALIGHT TOKIO DESIGNER’S WEEK
6th November is over and also Spainalight exhibition. At the moment the lights went out in Tokyo, and much to our regret, Spainalight exhibition left the Land of the Rising Sun to come back to
Spain. The exhibition hosted 43 designers and 52 Spanish companies brought by ICEX. Over six days, visitors were able to admire the
Designs of first row Spanish professionals such as Patricia Urquiola, Mario Ruiz, Luis Eslava, Jaime Hayón, Nadadora, José Manuel
Ferrero, Odosdesign, etc. Among them, Sancal was represented by
Pio-Pio armchairs, Tea panels and Tab stools that, between lights
and shadows were more comfortable than ever.
Intentando dar respuesta a las ya altas expectativas del público japonés tras el éxito de ediciones anteriores, un año más la
Embajada de España fue el eje central del programa. Además de
la exposición hubo seminarios y conferencias en torno al diseño
español para servir de escaparate de las últimas novedades de
nuestros creadores.
Attempting to respond to the already high expectations of the
Janpanese public after the success of previous editions, once again
the Spanish Embassy was the core of the program. Besides the
exhibition there were many seminars and conferences around the
Spanish design to serve as a showcase for the latest news from our
designers.

PREMIOS_
El pasado 1 de diciembre, en una glamurosa gala en Nueva York, la
revista estadounidense Interior Design, hizo entrega de los premios BoY al mejor diseño del año. Konoha, Tab y Folk han recibido
sendas menciones de honor, así que estamos de triple enhorabuena. Nos complace que el talento de Toyo Ito, Nadadora y Rafa
García, y el saber hacer de Sancal hayan sido premiados y tan bien
recibidos por el jurado y los internautas. Felicitamos al resto de
empresas premiadas y también a todo el equipo que ha trabajado conjuntamente para que las tres propuestas estén siendo tan
exitosas.

Last 1st December, at a glamorous gala in New York, the U.S. Interior Design magazine presented the Best of Year awards to the best
design. Konoha, Tab and Folk have won honorable mentions, so we
were thrice congratulated. We are really pleased that the talent of
Toyo Ito, Nadadora and Rafa García, and the expertise of Sancal have
been awarded and so well received by the jury and by the Internet
users. We congratulate the other award-winning companies and the
whole Sancal team that worked together for the three proposals to be
so successful.

El número más retro de esta revista le ha echado el ojo a nuestros
inconfundibles sillones para una tarde de lectura. En noviembre,
además de una interesante entrevista con Jon Hamm (el machoman de Madmen), encontramos unas páginas dedicadas a Sancal.
ESQUIRE
The November issue of the Spanish Esquire included an exciting
interview with Jon Hamm (the macho-man of Madmen) and few
pages dedicated to Sancal talking about the company and the
most retro-looking of our armchairs.
LA ANTI-OFICINA
Las oficinas de Facebook se han trasladado recientemente de Palo
Alto a Menlo Park, en California. El rápido crecimiento de esta dinámica empresa ha incrementado las necesidades de espacio para
sus empleados. El proyecto ha sido ejecutado por Gensler, quién
ha contado con Sancal para las zonas de espera.
Las nuevas instalaciones no sólo son más grandes, sino que
también suponen una innovación a nivel relacional. Amuebladas
con productos de diseño contemporáneo de máximo nivel, en
cierto modo podemos hablar de “anti-oficina”, pues la decoración
se asemeja más a un hotel, e incluso, a una vivienda privada. Cada
detalle de sus estancias está pensado para que la plantilla pueda
desconectar y liberar estrés.
Junto a clásicos del diseño editados por Herman Miller y Vitra, las
butacas Tea diseñadas por José Manuel Ferrero para Sancal nos
dan la bienvenida.
THE ANTI-OFFICE
Facebook’s offices have recently moved from Palo Alto to Menlo
Park, California. The fast growth of this dynamic company has increased the space requirements for their employees. The Project has
been executed by Gensler, who counted on Sancal products for the
waiting areas.
_PROYECTOS
The new facilities are not only bigger but also an innovation at a
relational level. Furnished with contemporary design products at the
highest level, in a certain way we can speak of “anti-office”, since the
decor is more like a hotel, or even a private home. Every detail of its
rooms is designed to allow the staff to be able to release stress.
Along with design classics edited by Herman Miller and Vitra, the Tea
small armchairs designed by José Manuel Ferrero for Sancal welcome us.

historias gráficas de la ilustradora murciana Ana Galvan, nos gusta, y mucho,
por ser tan imposible como verídica y
tan tétrica como cómica. Coincidimos
con sus editores en que difícilmente

para Danese Milano nos ha deslumbrado por su belleza y originalidad. Aunar
algo tan primitivo como el fuego con la
última tecnología led nos parece la cuadratura del círculo; y además, es práctica
y con buen humor.
