Good speaking practice for KS3 but can also be used as a revision game for KS4 or KS5 students. Resources: one sheet of questions cut into strips one sealable food bag one CD of language-appropriate music Write/type a list of questions that you want to practise or revise, leaving space between each question. (At KS4/KS5, students could do this themselves.) Between six and eight questions is ideal. Cut the questions into strips and fold them up a few times to make them smaller. Put the questions into a sealable food bag. You may find it useful to use a freezer bag and write on the side what topic it is. Either get the students into a circle or into lines with no gaps. Students pass around the bag of questions, whilst the music is playing. Pause the music every few students. When the music stops the student opens the bag, chooses a piece of paper, reads the question out and answers it. They then re-fold the question and put it back in the bag. Restart the music and the game! Tips Included are some questions on personal details but this activity can be adapted for any topic. It can also be used to focus on using different tenses, useful at KS4 and KS5 The same questions may be repeated but this helps with reinforcement. Try to ensure that all or most students get a turn by pausing the music carefully! © www.teachitlanguages.co.uk 2012 19150 Page 2 of 2
