En este momento, que tiene un puesto como ningún otro en el calendario litúrgico, todos nosotros de nuestra querida parroquia de Santa Teresita deseamos que estos días, y el año que viene, sean pasos especiales por el sendero cotidiano que atraviesan todos los feligreses en su deseo de conocer amar y de seguir al Niño de Belén. ¿Cuáles serían las gracias específicas y necesarias por las cuales esperamos durante de este tiempo santo? Las tarjetas navideñas hablan de “la paz” y de “la esperanza”. Generalmente, entendemos por la palabra “paz” la ausencia de conflictos. Pero, la paz de Belén es algo mucho más positivo que una ausencia. Nuestro querido Francisco, en sus muchos discursos y gestos en nuestro país y en otras partes del mundo nos ha clarificado lo que es la paz verdadera. La Encarnación de Dios señala una verdadera liberación. Es una liberación de todo lo que nos causa temor y aprensión, de todo lo que nos paraliza. No significa que no habrá conflictos o dudas. Pero si, significa que podamos vivir con una tranquilidad interior que nos libra para que seamos las personas sencillas que Dios ha creado. Es el sentimiento que todo lo que Dios ha creado es bueno y, por eso, nuestras vidas tienen una finalidad que enriquecerá nuestra historia. ¿Cómo se puede describir la esperanza de la Navidad? Otra vez más podemos considerar el ejemplo de nuestro guía espiritual, el obispo de Roma. Básicamente, es la convicción que las cosas grandes de la vida que han tenido cautivos a los hombres y mujeres durante su paso por este mundo, o en el pasado o en el presente, no tendrán su fuerza en el futuro - ¡nunca más! El pecado que nos deprime, que nos hace sentir culpable, que tiene el poder nefario de hacernos decir que ‘no podamos’ ha sido vencido con la apariencia misericordiosa de Dios en la carne humana. Nuestra esperanza es el sentir que, a pesar de nuestra debilidad, somos, y seremos siempre, los hijos e hijas de Dios, amados y amadas por la eternidad por el Dios que es amor. Y, la muerte, cuya sombra morosa ha aleteado sobre los seres humanos desde el principio de los tiempos, ahora no tiene ningún poder, porque todo lo humano, incluido la muerte, desde Belén, se ha asumido en lo divino. Nuestra esperanza es la vida eterna. San Ignacio en sus Ejercicios explica los extremos ilimitados a que el Dios de amor va, por el nacimiento de su Hijo, para conseguir las bendiciones de la paz y de la esperanza: Mirar y considerar lo que hacen (María y José), así como es el caminar y trabajar para que el Señor sea nacido en suma pobreza, y a cabo de tantos trabajos, de hambre, de sed, de calor y de frío, de injurias y afrentas, para morir en la cruz; y todo esto por mi; Aquel amor es lo que Dios ha cumplido en la historia y sigue cumpliendo diariamente en las vidas de todos nosotros. Es ese amor que hace posible la paz y la esperanza que disfrutamos nosotros los que han recibido el don gratuito de la fe en el Niño de Belén. Es ese amor que celebramos con la gran fiesta de estos días. ¡Feliz Navidad! ¡Qué el Dios de toda paz y de toda esperanza bendiga nuestras familias en una manera especial para que podamos compartir esos mismos regalos con todos los con que encontramos en nuestra alegre experiencia de la vida unida con su Hijo único encarnado!
