We would like to thank all of the advertisers who have renewed their ads for the upcoming year and also to all of the new advertisers who have generously committed to the bulletin this year. If you would be interested in sponsoring an ad for your business or on behalf of your favorite charity/ organization there is still time. Please contact Toby Radcliffe at 1-800-9509952 ext. 2556. As a reminder, we ask that all of our members utilize these wonderful advertisers whenever possible. Please use the bulletin as a resource whenever you are in need of products or services. Please let them know we truly appreciate their loyal support of our bulletin. It is their generosity that provides the bulletin at little or no cost to our church. A strong and vibrant bulletin is good for our community and a strong business community is good for our church. Our Families are Important They probably had never considered being, as Jesus says, “fishers of men.” Being a fisher of men could seem similar to what today we call being a “head hunter,” that is a recruiter or person specialized in finding talent and bringing it into a big company. It is a lucrative business, as those who find the talent charge commissions. Those with talent are hired by big companies and also earn a lot of money. But being fishers of men deals with attracting not so much talent, but love and good will and decision, to the great enterprise of the mission of Christ. It does not bring money and in appearance, not any real profit and yet, from this work depends the future, individual salvation as well as the salvation of the world. The Capernaum fishers did not need much money work. They were fine as they were. And yet, there is something very powerful that moves them to leave everything behind and to become recruiters for Jesus. Jesus’ own voice, inviting them to follow him, moves them to leave everything behind and to devote themselves to the great task of proclaiming the love and the Good News of the salvation of God. Although it is not a money maker, it offers the best benefits for the future. The fishermen met the living Christ and followed, investing in it their whole future. As a result, millions of people have been able to know and love God. Shouldn’t we, too, be investing the best of ourselves for such results? For Reflection In what ways is Jesus is calling me today? Have I met the living Jesus, whose voice and attractiveness are irresistible? What networks would I have to leave behind in order to follow (the nets that enslave and tie me down and the nets of my activity)? 3 Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario Teléfonos 626- 5735 / 625- 0640 Página de Internet: www.stmarysterling.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ministros para el fin de semana del 30 de Enero Lectores: Marisa Ocampo, Alberto Ambriz Ministro de Eucaristia: Ruben Cisneros, Mariana Rosas, Jorge Camacho, Josefina Camacho, Longinos Ambriz Monaguillos: Eric DeAnda, Jose L. Matrimonios y Quinceañeras: Hacer cita con el sacerdote por lo menos 6 meses antes de la fecha deseada.
