¡Arrepiéntete! Cambia mi corazón de piedra en el
Corazón de Jesús
We live in a society that has lost the value of the
TRUTH; people just assume that everyone lies,
which has become acceptable. Some call this perversion of the truth, “Artistic License”. It has been
said that in the film “Lincoln” in order to enhance
the “Drama” the two Senators from Connecticut
were portrayed as voting AGAINST the 13th amendment, when in truth, they voted IN FAVOR of it. It is
sad when the perversion of the truth is seen as a
“Good” or even a “Right”. I wonder how dedicated
to the truth are the TV News Casts and the Newspapers, or do they also seek “Drama” and
“Controversy” in order to increase their profits. The
perversion of the truth, always hurts all of us. The
lies we live make us hardened, isolated and unable to
trust others.
How important is the Truth in your life? Jesus is the
Truth, His is the Way that leads us to Full Life. Jesus
calls us to “Repent” to turn away from the lies that
we live and live the truth of God’s Love. We are
called to turn our hearts of stone into the heart of Jesus. GK

Fr. Lima was ordained from Los Angeles in 1985
and has served in many and varied ministries which
include: 1. the Director of the Office of Ecumenical
and Interreligious Affairs, 2. Chairman of the Liturgy and Music Committee for the L.A. Religious
Education Congress, 3. Designed the environment
for the 1987 Papal Mass in Dodger Stadium, 4. Currently is working on a Doctorate from the University
of Thomas Aquinas, Rome. When people listen to
Fr. Lima, they want more. Please accept God’s blessing and attend his Reflection of “The Year of Faith”
on Thursday March 7th and 14th. More information to

la VERDAD, la gente simplemente asume que todo el
mundo miente, que ha llegado a ser aceptable. Algunos le llaman a esta perversión de la verdad,

Can you hear?
We are all aware that it is difficult to hear clearly in our
church building. We have begun the process of resolving this major problem by contracting R S Acoustics
INC to make an in-depth study and make recommendations that “Will be designed to create the best possible
hearing environment using the existing natural acoustics of the space and additional sound absorbing materials where required to provide for excellent speech
intelligibility while maintaining an environment complimentary to music playback, choral, or amplified musical performances.” This consulting service will cost
us $1,920.00. We know that the final project will be
very costly, but it needs to be done. The Parish Building Committee and Parish Pastoral Council will be
deeply involved in the project. There will be more details as we receive them. Can you hear? Is it possible
that the Lord is calling you to make a donation for this
project? GK

Todos estamos conscientes de que es difícil oír con
claridad en nuestra iglesia. Hemos comenzado el proceso de resolver este grave problema mediante la contratación Acoustics RS INC para hacer un estudio a

Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities is seeking volunteers to bring food and a friendly
visit to homebound seniors. Volunteers provide this service once a
month and to help those frail elderly who have no other resources. Volunteers must
have a valid driver’s license and be available to pick
up food and deliver it to the senior’s homes. Volunteer
must complete an application and background check.

Caridades Católicas
Caridades Católicas está buscando voluntarios para
llevar comida y una visita amistosa a los ancianos

Celebrating St. Joseph, Our Patron, Tickets
Are Now Available For The Spaghetti Dinner
This year we would like to celebrate, as a community, the Feast of St. Joseph our Patron by
having a St. Joseph Table and a traditional
Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, March 16th in
Redahan Hall. The cost of the Dinner would be
$5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for children under
twelve. In order to cover expenses, we need to sell
at least two hundred (200) tickets in advance. The
Knights of Columbus will be selling tickets on
March 3rd in conjunction with their Garage Sale.
Ticket Sales will also be taking place after some of
the Sunday Masses. Bring the complete ticket to the
Dinner, in order to be eligible for Door Prizes. There
will be good food, prizes, music and fun. Please
plan to attend.
In Addition to the Dinner, we will have the St. Joseph Table in the Church from March 16th until
March 19th. There will be baskets for donations for
the poor at the 5: 00 pm and 7:00 pm Masses on Saturday the 16th, as well at the Dinner. On Tuesday,
March 19th (the actual Feast Day) there will be a
special Parish Mass; and all are invited. It is suggested that any meeting on that night be postponed
until after the Mass, so that all will have the opportunity to participate as the Family of St. Joseph.
Celebrando A San José Nuestro Patrón,
Boletos Ya A La Venta Para La Cena
Este año queremos celebrar, como comunidad,
la fiesta de San José nuestro Patrono por tener
teniendo una mesa de San José y la tradicional
Cena de Spaghetti el Sábado, 16 de Marzo en
el Salón Redahan. El costo de la cena es de $5.00 por
adultos y $3.00 por niños menores de doce años. Con
el fin de cubrir los gastos, tenemos que vender por lo
menos doscientos (200) boletos por adelantado. Los
Caballeros de Colón estarán vendiendo los boletos el
3 de marzo, en conjunto con su venta de garaje. La
venta de boletos también se llevará a cabo después de
algunas de las misas dominicales. Lleve el boleto
completo a la cena, con el fin de ser elegible para premios en la puerta. Habrá buena comida, premios,
música y diversión. Por favor haga planes para asistir.
Además de la cena, tendremos la mesa de San José en
la Iglesia del 16 de marzo hasta el 19 de marzo. Habrá
canastas para donaciones para los pobres en las misas
del Sábado 16 a las 5:00pm y 7:00pm y en la cena. El

The process of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is one of conversion for those seeking Full Communion
into the Roman Catholic Church through
the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation
and Eucharist (Holy Communion). Baptized persons who need Confirmation and/or First
Communion are also welcome. We meet on Sunday
mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Center until
twelve noon. Sessions will resume on March 3rd.

Charter for Protection
of Children & Young People Marks 10
Years
2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the US Bishops’ Charter for
the Protection of Children and Young People. The
Charter contains practical and pastoral steps that
address allegations of sexual abuse, prevent future
abuse, and help abuse victims through the healing
process. Over the past decade, more than 100,000
adults and children have undergone abuse awareness and prevention sessions in archdiocesan parishes and schools. More than 5,000 VIRTUS® sessions have been conducted, making access to this
important training easily available. Additionally, the
archdiocese continues to be one of the largest private organizations in California to fingerprint employees and volunteers (more than 100,000 to date)
who work with our children.

sexual; sobre cómo prevenir futuros abusos y como
ayudar a las víctimas de abuso durante el proceso de
sanación. Durante la última década, más de 100,000
adultos y niños en nuestras parroquias y escuelas han
participado en los programas para la concientización y
prevención sobre el abuso sexual. Se han realizado más
de 5 mil sesiones de VIRTUS®, poniendo este importante entrenamiento al alcance de todos. Además, la
Arquidiócesis sigue siendo una de las más grandes organizaciones privadas en California que registra las
huellas digitales de empleados y voluntarios (hasta la

Weddings: Congratulations! Thank you for choosing
St. Joseph Church as the place to celebrate your marriage. Preparation takes approximately 6 months. To
begin the process it is necessary that the couple attend an information night. This meeting takes place
in our parish office once a month and is always the
second Monday of each month at 7:00 in the evening.
