This is an important letter about mental health respite care.

Dear Member,
The Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) State Managed Care Network would like to clarify the
benefit for mental health respite.
Mental health respite is the short-term care of a member with a diagnosed mental illness
by an adult. This care is given by someone who is not a family member or someone the
member lives with. Mental health respite gives the usual caregivers some time away from
normal day-to-day healthcare challenges.
Mental health respite is not a benefit of the Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) State Managed
Care Network, which will be more clearly stated in an updated version of the CHP+
Member Benefit Booklet. This updated Booklet will be mailed out to all members this
summer.
Respite services are covered for members receiving Hospice Care, which is explained in
more detail on page 61 of the CHP+ State Managed Care Network Member Benefit Booklet.

Cuidado relevo de la salud mental es el cuidado dado por un adulto a corto plazo de un
miembro con una enfermedad mental diagnosticada. Esta atención está dada por alguien
