On Mother’s Day a total of 102 breakfasts were served, and
only a total of $101 was collected in donations. In the last
three months, the cost of these breakfasts has exceeded the
donations by over $200. The Knights can no longer absorb
these losses. The Knights will have a pancake breakfast on
June 30th and if donations do not cover the cost, we may
have to either discontinue the breakfasts or go to a ticket
system. We appreciate your support and hope to be able to
continue the monthly Pancake Breakfast.

En el Día de la Madre se sirvió un total de 102 desayunos, y
sólo un total de $ 101 fue recogido en donaciones. En los
últimos tres meses, el costo de estos desayunos ha superado
las donaciones por más de $200. Los Caballeros ya no pueden absorber estas pérdidas Los caballeros tendrán un desayuno de panqueques el 30 de junio y si las donaciones no
cubren el costo, tal vez tengamos que discontinuar los desayunos o ir a un sistema de tickets. Apreciamos su apoyo y
esperamos poder continuar con el Desayuno de Panqueques

celebrates the ethnic and cultural diversity of our community.
The Festival includes activities for everyone in the family, including music, a variety of entertainment, diverse mixture of
vendors, and an assortment of ethnic foods.
Some of the performers this year are: Nevada Gunfighters, Taj
Dancers, Relentless Martial Arts and Aztec Dancers.

The readings for this Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
deal with the dichotomy of emotions found in Christ’s
Crucifixion. It was a tragedy and an extremely sad occurrence; at the same time, as it meant salvation for us, it was a time
of great joy. The first reading from Zechariah recounts this time of
great mourning, yet also as a time when the people will be given a
“fountain to purify from sin and uncleanness”. In the Gospel, the
Lord points to a similar contradiction when He says, “…whoever
wishes to save his life must lose it, but whoever loses his life for my
sake will save it”. Our lives are filled with sadness and joy. Those
who practice stewardship as a way of life focus on the joys. If we
concentrate on our blessings, the crosses we must bear become less
burdensome and more tolerable. The noted author and lecturer
Helen Keller, who was both deaf and blind, had a wonderful stewardship outlook on life. She once said, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow”. That is our challenge as stewards — to concentrate on the good in life because that is what brings

Las lecturas de esta XII Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario en acuerdo con la dicotomía de las emociones que
se encuentran en la crucifixión de Cristo. Fue una tragedia y una
muy triste suceso, al mismo tiempo, ya que significaba la salvación
para nosotros, fue un momento de gran alegría. La primera lectura de
Zacarías relata este momento de gran luto, pero también como un
momento en que la gente se dará una "fuente para purificar del pecado y la inmundicia". En el Evangelio, el Señor señala una contradicción similar cuando dice: "... el que quiera salvar su vida debe perder, pero quien pierda su vida por mi causa, la salvará". Nuestras
vidas están llenas de tristeza y alegría. Los que practican la corresponsabilidad como una forma de vida se centran en las alegrías. Si
nos concentramos en nuestras bendiciones, las cruces hay que tener
cada vez menos onerosa y más tolerable. El autor y conferencista
señaló Helen Keller, quien era sordo y ciego, tuvo una maravillosa
visión mayordomía de la vida. Una vez dijo: "Guarde su cara a la luz
del sol y no se puede ver una sombra". Ese es nuestro desafío como
administradores - para concentrarse en lo bueno de la vida, porque

Associate Director of Faith Formation
The Associate Director would serve under the supervision of the
Director of Faith Formation and would minister in the areas of
Youth/Young Adult/Adult Faith Formation. The successful
candidate will be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the
church, committed to faith development, a strong leader, a team
builder, and will possess excellent interpersonal skills. This
candidate should also possess and advanced degree in Pastoral
Ministry, Theology, or related field; have strong administrative
and organizational skills, especially in the area of strategic planning, financial management, and leadership development. The
ideal candidate will have 5+ experience in parish or diocesan
