World Day for Consecrated Life
“Padre Bill”
February 2 , Feast of the Presentation of the
Lord, has also been designated as “World Day for Consecrated Life”. Pope Francis proclaimed 2015 a Year of
Consecrated Life, marking the 50th anniversary of a decree
on religious life, and Lumen Gentium, the Second Vatican
Council’s constitution on the Church.
The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord is also
known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed
symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in
consecrated life are called to reflect light of Jesus Christ to all
peoples.
Prayer for the Year of Consecrated Life
O God, throughout the ages you have called women and men
to pursue lives of perfect charity through the evangelical counsels
of poverty, chastity, and obedience. During this Year of Consecrated Life, we give you thanks for these courageous witnesses of
Faith and models of inspiration. Their pursuit of holy lives
teaches us to make a more perfect offering of ourselves to you.
Continue to enrich your Church by calling forth sons and daughters who, having found the pearl of great price, treasure the Kingdom of Heaven above all things. Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
you Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
siglos. Amén
Fr. Bill will be on a Mission Trip in the Dominican Republic with a great group of volunteers during the weeks of
February 2nd to February 16th. Blessings and God Speed for all, for safe travels and a safe mission.
Thank you for your hard work, generosity of time and compassion. Many hearts shall be touched…….
Please welcome with open arms for our visiting Priest’s:
Bishop Robert Banks, Fr. Norm Krutzik, Fr. Walter Stumpf, Fr. Daniel Schuster, and Fr. Peter Renard

New Year’s Resolutions Check-In
Tina Poppe RN
It’s been four weeks since the turn of the
New Year. How are you doing with your
goals or resolutions? This is a good time
to pull out that piece of paper that you
jotted down those goals on. How well is it
going? Honestly! Have you made any progress toward
achieving your goals in mind, body, and spirit? If you
have made progress, even a little, record it! Celebrate it!
Be grateful for it! On the other hand, if you haven’t seen
any progress yet, acknowledge it. It’s OK! Forgive yourself for any lack of action on your part. Then move on
with new conviction. Perhaps you need to rethink your
goals, making them more realistic. Or, maybe the way you
thought you would approach achieving your goals needs
to change. It might be that you just need to focus on one
goal at a time to be successful. Whether you are eight or
eighty-eight, keep working on your goals for improvement of body, mind and spirit.
“I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to
offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to
God, your spiritual worship.” Rom 12: 1.

the Priests of our city for their assistance at school
liturgies and other sacramental celebrations.
If you or someone you know is interested in a great,
faith-filled education, please contact us for more

Call Xavier Catholic Schools at 735-9380.
Care Ministers Reach Out To Those In Need
Did you know there are more than 1600 Care Ministers
serving our parishes in the Diocese of Green Bay? A Care
Minister is a volunteer who is trained to go out and listen,
understand, support and pray with people in need of support during times of transition in their lives. These volunteers respond to the spiritual and emotional needs of the
bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced,
unemployed, or those facing some personal crisis.
Becoming a Care Minister is not a simple undertaking…it
requires training, leadership, and continuing education.
Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal allows you to reach out
and care for the hurting people across our 16-county
diocese. To make a gift today contact your parish, visit
the Bishop’s Appeal website at
www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give, or call Debbie tollfree at 877-500-3580, ext. 8184.
