Nomination Procedures
Effective – April 1, 2016
Introduction
This document describes Southwest Gas nominating procedures. This document is posted on
Southwest Vista and is available for download.
Nomination Deadlines
All times are in Pacific Clock Time (PCT). The Gas Day begins at 7:00 a.m. PCT.
The following deadlines are applicable for nominations made directly to pipelines:
Cycle 1 (Timely)
Cycle 2 (Evening)
Cycle 3 (Intraday 1)
Cycle 4 (Intraday 2)
Cycle 5 (Intraday 3)
11:00 a.m. PCT prior day
4:00 p.m. PCT prior day
8:00 a.m. PCT flow day
12:30 p.m. PCT flow day
5:00 p.m. PCT flow day
Those parties nominating to Southwest Gas for deliveries from Arizona and Nevada pipelines must
submit nominations to the Southwest Vista website no later than the following deadlines:
Cycle 1 (Timely)
Cycle 2 (Evening)
Cycle 3 (Intraday 1)
Cycle 4 (Intraday 2)
Cycle 5 (Intraday 3)
11:00 a.m. PCT prior day
4:00 p.m. PCT prior day
8:00 a.m. PCT flow day
12:30 p.m. PCT flow day
5:00 p.m. PCT flow day
Those parties nominating to Southwest Gas for deliveries from Southern California pipelines must
submit their nominations to the Southwest Vista website no later than the following deadlines:
Cycle 1 (Timely)
Cycle 2 (Evening)
Cycle 3 (Intraday 1)
Cycle 4 (Intraday 2)
Cycle 5 (Intraday 3)
9:30 a.m. PCT prior day
2:30 p.m. PCT prior day
6:30 a.m. PCT flow day

3:30 p.m. PCT flow day
Once the indicated deadlines have expired, the cycle will be considered “In Progress” and no other
nominations will be accepted for that cycle.

Accepted Methods of Submitting Nominations
Nominations are accepted electronically via the Southwest Vista website. Nominations may be
submitted with a .csv file or by manual input into the system. A User Agreement is required for
access to the website. Prior approval is required to submit a nomination by any means other than
through the Southwest Vista website.
Nomination File Template
A nomination file template is available from Central Gas Dispatch for use in submitting nominations.
This form is in a .csv format and may also be downloaded from Southwest Vista. If submitting
nominations via a .csv file, the use of the Southwest developed template is encouraged to avoid
upload problems. The upload file contains the following information:

Customer Name
The Customer Name is the name on the Transportation Service Agreement between the customer
and Southwest Gas. The customer name appears as “Customer Short Name” on Southwest Vista.
Agreement Number
The Agreement Number is the customer account number consisting of 5 digits followed by the
character T, S, B or O.

Nom Start Date/Nom End Date
The Nom Start and End Dates are formatted (MM/DD/YYYY) and must be within the same calendar
month.
Cycle
The Cycle is the one digit number 1 (Timely), 2 (Evening), 3 (Intraday 1), 4 (Intraday 2) or 5 (Intraday 3).
Interstate Pipeline
The Interstate Pipeline is a four or five character acronym corresponding to the name of the pipeline:

Nomination Type
The Nomination Type is TP (Third Party) or HEEN (Hourly Entitlement Enhancement Nomination – El
Paso only).
Delivery Point Data Reference Numbers (DRN)
NAESB standards replace previous designations for Receipt Points and Delivery Points with a
numeric code, known as the Data Reference Number (DRN). The following lists DRN codes for all
pipeline scheduling points for Southwest. These DRNs are to be used in the “Delivery Point” field.

Delivery Storage Program (SOCAL Only)
The Delivery Storage Program is required when the pipeline is SOCAL and the delivery point is
SCAL/STOR. The following codes are used to indicate which contract is applicable for injection into
storage:
TBSF INJ
(Transportation Based Storage Firm)
TBSI INJ
(Transportation Based Storage Interruptible)
WHF INJ
(Wholesale Storage Firm)
WHI INJ
(Wholesale Storage Interruptible)
Receipt Point Data Reference Numbers (DRN)
The Receipt Point is required if the pipeline is SOCAL. Please contact your supplier/agent or pipeline
for the appropriate DRN codes.

Receipt Storage Program (SOCAL Only)
The Receipt Storage Program is required when the pipeline is SOCAL and the receipt point is
SCAL/STOR. The following codes are used to indicate which contract is applicable for withdrawal
from storage:
TBSF WITH (Transportation Based Storage Firm)
TBSI WITH (Transportation Based Storage Interruptible)
WHF WITH (Wholesale Storage Firm)
WHI WITH (Wholesale Storage Interruptible)
Quantity
The Quantity must be numeric and cannot be less than zero.
Shipper Contract
The Shipper Contract is the shipper’s pipeline transportation contract number.
Package ID
The Package ID can be numeric or characters or any combination thereof. It must match the
Package ID nominated to the interstate pipeline or the gas will not be scheduled. Note: Kern River,
Paiute Pipeline and SoCal Gas do not accept Package ID’s.
Shipper DUNS
The Shipper DUNS is the pipeline contract owner’s DUNS number.
Downstream DUNS
The Downstream DUNS is the Southwest Gas DUNS number which is 006970917. If the file does not
retain the leading zeros, it will still be accepted into the system.
Downstream Contract
The Downstream Contract can be numeric or characters or any combination thereof. It must match
the Downstream Contract nominated to the interstate pipeline or the gas will not be scheduled.
Suggested Downstream Contracts by state are as follows: EU3 (Arizona), EU2 (Nevada) or S87
(California).
