Throughout the world, the Pontifical Mission Society spreads the good news of the Gospel far and wide. Let us pray, and offer our gift of support and money to the spread of the Gospel in faraway lands, and in our own cities and towns. Let us pray… Good and gracious God, we humbly ask your blessings upon our brothers and sisters in lands far from us. Your Gospel message was handed to us through our parents and nurtured in our communities by priests, brothers, and sisters who have dedicated their lives to spread God's good news. Help us to be generous in our offering of monetary gifts to the Pontifical Mission Society. May our gifts continue the work of evangelization of countries throughout the world. We ask this in Christ's name, who is our brother and savior. Amen. Parish Handbell Choir Our parish handbell choir is in need of additional players. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 6:30pm- 7:30pm. Priesthood Sunday October 24/25, 2015 Catholic parishes throughout New Hampshire and the United States will show support for their priests with prayers and special celebrations on the weekend of October 24 and 25. The last Sunday of October has in recent years been designated as Priesthood Sunday, a one-day celebration of the priesthood organized by parish lay leaders and coordinated by the USA Council of Serra International. Serra International is a lay organization whose aim is to foster and promote vocations to the Catholic priesthood and religious life, and encourages its members to fulfill their own Christian vocations to service. The lay faithful of each parish, school or other ministry are asked to develop their own special way of marking the day and honoring both priesthood and their own priests. Over the past few years parishes have shown their appreciation by hosting receptions after the Masses, placing an ad in the local newspaper honoring their priest, or presenting their priest with personalized notes reminding him of what he does to bring people closer to Christ. For more information on Priesthood Sunday go to: www.priestsunday.org You are invited to attend the 43rd March for Life and Pilgrimage of Faith in Washington, DC. Join the estimated 300-400 pilgrims from the Diocese of Manchester to stand up for the Sanctity of the Human Life. We will attend Mass as a group both days, first at a local parish, then with Bishop Libasci on Capitol Hill. We will attend the Rally and March on the National Mall by the Smithsonian buildings and there will also be an opportunity to lobby your Senators and Congressmen. The trip cost includes bus transportation, t-shirt, bag lunch on ride down, one night at hotel, metro tickets, and continental breakfast at the hotel. Reservations need to be made by October 31, 2015 with a 50% deposit. Final Payments are due by December 15, 2015. For more information contact Valerie Lynn Somers at [email protected].
