Second Collection January 24-25, 2015 Hispanic Ministries in the Archdiocese of Atlanta The Archdiocese of Atlanta is blessed and enriched by the presence of a diverse, vibrant and growing Hispanic/Latino community both resident and migrant. Their presence among us is a great source of hope as well as a challenge. We embrace this challenge with a renewed apostolic zeal and a missionary spirit as we seek ways to promote and facilitate their full participation into the life and mission of the Church which is also their Church. Next weekend the archdiocese has designated the second collection to Hispanic Ministries. All contributions will stay in the Archdiocese to help all the established Hispanic ministries. Please be generous. Today’s passages from Samuel and St. John’s Gospel describe answering God’s call — His will in our lives. St. Paul teaches that we are all part of the Body of Christ. God gives each of us unique gifts with which to serve Him in carrying out His divine plan. Through conversion of heart and mind, good stewards discern their vocational call from the Lord. That call may be to religious life, marriage, or single life. Are we, too, like Eli, Samuel, John, Peter, and Andrew open to the Lord’s call in our lives? PSR SCHEDULE-January 2015 Jan. 19th or 21st - No Classes (MLK Holiday) January 20- Purpose Life is meant to be lived with purpose, direction, and meaning. We all desire the same things in life: happiness, joy, love, and purpose. Have you ever spoken to a person who did not want to know true happiness? Have you ever met a person who did not desire to have purpose, meaning, and direction in their life? Have you ever met a person who, in their deepest desires, did not want to live their life in the way that it was meant it to be lived? At some point we all ask ourselves questions like “why am I here?” and “what is my purpose in life?” We all ask these questions about life because deep in our heart we desire to know the real answers. Additional Young Adult events this January will also include a Social Event, Service Project and Fundraising for our trip this spring!
