bible study.
LifeTeen News – There will be no Life Night this

on Sunday, April 5 due to Easter. The next Teen
Leadership & Sac Prep meeting is Sunday, April 12.

State Convention is an awesome Diocesan
Conference for students 9th-12th grade hosted by the
teen leaders of our Diocese! This year, it will be May
8-10.
Steubenville is a fabulous weekend retreat
conference over the summer for incoming freshmen
through graduating seniors. Students 18-20 can also
attend as young adult leaders. This year, we will be
attending the Springfield, MO location Sunday, July
17 - Sunday, July 19.
Graduation Mass & Celebration – All of our
St. Stephen graduating seniors and their families are
invited to a special graduation Mass and Dinner on
Sunday, May 3! Students should plan to arrive at the
Church by 4:30pm with their graduation gowns. They
will be recognized & will receive a blessing at the 5pm

pictures, there will be a dinner in the Family Life
Center. Please contact Krystina Tacchi via e-mail
[email protected] with any questions
or to RSVP with the number that will be attending.
St. Stephen Church Scholarship – If you are a
graduating senior and plan to further your education,
you are able to apply for a St. Stephen scholarship.
Some, but not all, of the criteria that we use is: be a
student member of St. Stephen, be an active member
of LifeTeen, have strong Christian character and
leadership & be involved in extra-curricular activities
within the Church and community. We do have a
limited number of scholarships to award and these
scholarships are very competitive. Please contact
Krystina Tacchi for an application. The deadline to
have applications turned in is Sunday, April 12.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Rice Bowl – We follow
Jesus this week on our Lenten journey as he enters
into Jerusalem, a community He knew well. CRS Rice
Bowl asks us, too, to prayerfully enter into our own
communities, to find those who are hungry and
thirsty, who need our help. How does our Lenten
journey motivate us to serve those we encounter in our
daily lives?
Every year, local Catholic Charities agencies
provide housing services to almost 500,000 individuals
in need. To learn more visit CatholicCharitiesUSA.org.
St. Stephen Benevolent Conference (SSBC) – Today
is Palm Sunday and the beginning of the holiest of
Christian weeks. Let us pray for the grace to take up
our own cross & to follow Jesus through death to new
life. Please know that with your support of the SSBC
you have helped many of our neighbors in need with
food and financial support. If you missed today’s
‘Black Bag’ collection, you may leave your donation in
the Poor Boxes located in the Narthex.
Knights of Columbus (K of C) Annual Scrap Drive –
Clean out the garage, throw away the old swing set.
On April 18 and 19, the K of C will be holding their
Annual Scrap Drive. Bring any metal item to the
dumpsters at the north east corner of the church
parking lot. Need help unloading your donation?
Knights will be available after each mass to help
unload. No wooden furniture or bedding can be
accepted! Net proceeds from the scrap drive will be
used to fund a college scholarship for a graduating
senior from the parish. Thank you for your support.
nuestra parroquia. Gracias por su apoyo.

Elliott and Cindy Shaw, M.A. Ministry, will co-present
a weekend retreat, “God Kneads Saints,” at

St. Ignatius of Antioch as an image of Christian life, we
can say that Sainthood consists of allowing ourselves
to be made into the Eucharistic Christ for one another.
During this retreat we will look at/consider what it
might mean to be transformed from “grains of wheat:
into the “pure bread of Christ of which St. Ignatius
spoke. Cost for resident is $195 and commuter $150.

Good Friday – Christians around the world are united
in a special way during Lent, Holy Week and Easter.
Our hearts, minds and prayers are also especially
aware of the Holy Land. Our parish is called on to
support Christians in the Holy Land. Many Christians
in the Holy Land depend on the collection for their lives.
As a pontifical collection requested by Pope
Francis, the annual Good Friday Collection offers a
direct link for parishioners to be witnesses of peace
and to help protect the Holy Places. When you donate
on Good Friday, you are supporting Christians in the
Holy Land. Franciscans & others in the Holy Land are
housing and feeding the poor, providing religious
formation/education, & conducting pastoral ministry.
For information, visit MyFranciscan.org/good-Friday.
The Good Friday collection is requested by the Holy
Father. Please be as generous as you can.
