District B
Greetings District B, I am sure by now you have heard about the departure of Dwight D. Jones. With his departure, the Board appointed Deputy Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky as Interim Superintendent until a new superintendent is hired. During this interim time, the Board is seeking input from parents and community members about the direction is District going and the superintendent selection process. The Board has held town hall meetings in different locations within the District to talk to people and get their input. There is still time to attend one of these meetings. I invite you to attend. Please click here to see the schedule. If you do not get a chance to attend a meeting, I invite you to complete an on‐line survey by clicking here. Your input is important to us. Congratulations to Eldorado High School who recently celebrated their 40th anniversary on April 19. Six of the school’s eight former principals were on hand for a special assembly and reception. Sincerely, Chris

Districtwide Parent Survey Districtwide Parent Survey ‐ safety, academics and friendliness. These topics and many more are the subject of the annual Clark County School District Parent Survey, available online at the district’s website, http://ccsd.net/district/surveys/parent/. The survey, open to all parents and guardians, provides feedback to the school district, which is used to improve schools and experiences of students, staff and the community. Tying into Interim Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky’s goal of increasing parent and community involvement in schools, the survey offers a unique opportunity for participants to share their school‐related experiences and partner with the CCSD to improve education. Interested parents and guardians can participate in the survey April 1 – May 21, 2013. For those parents and guardians who wish to participate, but do not have computer/Internet access, CCSD schools and school district administrative offices will have computers available. Parents and guardians with questions, who would prefer a paper copy of the survey, and/or who would like information on the nearest location offering computer access to participate in the survey, may contact the CCSD Research Department at 799‐1187. a top-10 ranking in the 2012-2013 Digital School
Districts Survey, sponsored by the Center for
