Saint procession – There will be a saint procession

Our next Life Night is Sunday, October 23 at
6:00-8:00pm in the Family Life Center. The topic for
the week is The Cross & the Altar. This Life Night
provides teenagers with an understanding of the Mass
as the one Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, and
it challenges them to unite their own sacrifices with
the cross at Mass.
Life Teen is still in need of youth that would
like to participate in the Our Lady of Guadalupe play.
Practice will take place 4 times, on Wed. afternoons
from 4:30-5:30pm and the play will be on December 7.
Please contact Jessica if you are interested!
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion

misunderstood teachings of the church. Learn more
about Purgatory and have those burning questions
answered during a special evening led by Msgr. Scott:
“God’s Divine Mercy: Charity for the Poor Souls in
Purgatory.” Join us Monday, October 17 from
7:00-9:30pm in the family life center. Refreshments
will be served.
Holy Hour of Prayer for our Country – Please join
us for an Hora Santa (Holy Hour) of prayer for our
country on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8 from
7:00-8:00pm. While the prayers and songs will be in
Spanish, there will be periods of silent prayer.
Hora Santa (Orar por Nuestro País) – Por favor,
acompáñenos a orar por Nuestro País el día de las
elecciones, el martes 8 de noviembre apartir de las
7:00-8:00pm. Mientras que las oraciones y canciones

Parish Council Nominations – It’s time to elect
members of the Parish Council. Are you up to the
task of helping St. Stephen continue to be the
outstanding parish that it is? In January, we will be
having Parish Council elections. It is of vital
importance that we have people who are willing to
serve the parish and have the foresight to take it into
the future. Please feel free to nominate yourself or
someone else (please make sure that the person you
nominate is aware of the nomination). Watch for the
nomination table in the November.
Nominaciones para Consejo Parroquial – Es tiempo
de elegir nuevo miembros al consejo parroquial. Si
“Never measure your generosity by what you give,
but rather by what you have left.”
– Bishop Fulton J. Sheen (1895-1979)
St. Stephen Benevolent Society Food Drive (SSBC)
Food Drive Slips will be handed out after all Masses
this weekend October 15/16. Each food slip will have
different items enabling us to have a better variety of
foods and goods. The food will be collected next
weekend October 22/23, over at the food pantry
building. Someone will be at the food pantry
driveway to take your bags as you enter.
Thank you in advance for your generosity in
helping the SSBC serve our community. We are called
to feed all of God’s children of all ages. Appreciation
and blessings to the St. Stephen parish families that
support us by helping us with this wonderful ministry.
SSBC Black Bag Collection – In the Gospel
today Jesus tells his disciples to pray always without
becoming weary. Indeed our prayer must always be
an expression of our love for God, our family, our
world, and especially for the suffering poor.
As you place your gift in the SSBC Poor Box,
please say a special prayer for the poor who have no
one to pray for them.
That Man is You – Come join us Thursday mornings
in the Family Life Center from 6:00-7:30am. This
week’s topic will be “Set Your Minds on Things Above.”
All the men of the parish are invited and it is never too
late to join.
St. Stephen Nursery is available for children between
the ages of 1-3 for childcare during the 10:00am and
11:45am Masses. Childcare is free to parishioners

events. For more information contact Alicia Singh at

Sacred Heart Home Enthronements invite Jesus into
your heart, so that two hearts may become one heart.
The mission of this Apostolate is to renew family life
through the Heart of Jesus, one family at a time. “I
will bless every dwelling in which the image of My
Sacred Heart shall be exposed and Honored.” Sacred
Heart Home Enthronements help society get back to
the family, restore grace in our hearts, Eucharist in
the church, and peace in our homes. If you would like
to participate or for information please contact Mary
Sutton at 366-1504 or [email protected].
