FOOD – Recently reported to the parish council December
through June 8, 102 pounds of food have been collected and
distributed along with $1894 cash donations.

IMMIGRATION REFORM – Immigration Reform still
under Discussion as Congress Recesses. Despite media
reports to the contrary, both Democratic and Republican
offices have shown a willingness to consider comprehensive
immigration reform in meetings with advocated in advance
of the August recess. Even if you think your
Representative is opposed to immigration reform, it is
still important that they hear from you. Please be on the
lookout for Action Alerts, town hall information, and other
resources from Catholic Charities USA during this critical
time.
WELCOME HOME RECEPTIONS
Remember to be alert for people you know who have strayed
from the practice of the faith and invite them to our monthly
social gatherings the 2nd Saturday of each month after the
5:30 pm Mass in the John of the Cross Room. This is an
opportunity for us to reach out and extend a welcome home!

YEAR OF FAITH RESOURCES: monthly handouts
focusing on an aspect of our Year of Faith celebration are
available in the foyer of the church.
Prayer Table: a table of prayer cards and booklets is set up
in the corner of the church to the right of the Lady of
Guadalupe painting. All items are free. If you have holy
cards you wish to donate please drop them off at the St.
Pat’s parish office.
St. Patrick Prayers – there are 10,080 minutes in each
week. What better way to use 5 minutes a day than to pray
for our parish’s needs? That’s only 35 minutes out of
10,080! Record your commitment to pray for the parish by
signing the St. Patrick Prayer Sign Up Book..
Sisters in Scripture – Don’t know much about the women
in the Old Testament such as: Sarah, Hagar, Ruth, Rebecca,
Naomi, Rachel and Leah? Come to a weekly scripture study
focusing on theses Old Testament women. This weekly
small group will meet on Thursday afternoons, 1-3 pm in the
St. John room, starting Oct. 31 and running until Feb. 20.

I Believe: an excellent handout on the foundations of our
Catholic faith, I Believe, is now available in the entrance of
each parish starting with the August & Sept. issues. Look
for a different topic each month, covering the sacraments,
Christian funerals, Sacramentals & Devotionals and Liturgy.
There will be a limited number available for each parish so
don’t miss this free adult faith formation aid for yourself or
to pass on to friends or family.
All parishioners wishing to remain as active volunteers
working with children or youth in the parish are required
to take an annual online quiz. Please locate your name
and personal id# on the information board in the church
foyer, along with instructions on how to take the quiz.
All volunteers must take the quiz before Nov. 1 to remain

FALL REGISTRATION: Rel. Ed. classes have begun
for children in grades K – 5. If you have not yet registered
please do so soon, as the deadline to enroll is early October.
For children in grades 2 and above, theses classes are a
requirement to enroll in sacramental preparation classes
for Reconciliation, confirmation and Eucharist. Contact

INFANT BAPTISM
The next preparation class for parents and godparents who
wish to baptize their infants or children (under 7 years old)
will be Saturday, November 2, 9:30 am-12 noon in the

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
CONFIRMATION AND FIRST EUCHARIST
2013-2014
Classes for parents and children will be offered on Monday
evenings, 6:30 – 7:45 pm at St. Francis for St. Patrick
and St. Francis families and on Wednesday evenings,
6:30 – 7:45 at Assumption hall for Assumption parish
families.
RECONCILIATION PREPARATION CLASSES:
Registration for this year’s Reconciliation preparation
classes is now underway. Participation in the fall
RECONCILIATION PROGRAM is a requirement to
attend the Confirmation/Eucharist program in the spring. A
birth certificate from the state is required at time of
registration . Forms are located in the parish office and
church foyer or contact Sue Logsdon for more information.
Parents please read the attachment to the registration
form to see if your child is eligible to enroll in this year’s
program. DEADLINE TO ENROLL IS OCT. 7.
Parent only meeting – Oct. 9 at Assumption hall, 6:308:00pm.
ROSARY -The Rosary will be prayed every Tuesday at St.
Francis at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited to join them.

THE NEXT TRI-PARISH SENIOR POTLUCK
LUNCHEON will be Thursday, Oct. 17, at
Assumption Parish beginning with Mass and
anointing at 11:00 am. The potluck luncheon
follows at noon. Entertainment provided by the Park
Plaza Choir. Please bring a salad or main dish to
share. Table service, beverages and desserts are
provided.

Tri-Parish Eucharistic Adoration at St. Mary’s
Chapel is in need of several new adorers to fill in
openings 2:00 – 3:00pm Thursday afternoon, 12:00
-1:00 pm Friday morning. 1:00- 2:00 Saturday

Las clases para el programa para los sacramentos
ya ha comenzado. Las clases comienzan a las 10:15
am y terminan a las 11:30 am. Por favor traiga a
sus niños a tiempo. También recoja los niños a la
hora que salen.
QUINCEAÑERAS
Solo celebraremos quinceañeras el segundo
sábado de cada mes de manera comunitaria.
1) Las jóvenes que deseen celebrar su Misa de
quince años deberán registrarse en la
parroquia y participar en el grupo juvenil
durante un año y participar en la Misa
Dominical.
2) Las quinceañeras deberán haber recibido sus
Sacramentos de Iniciación Cristiana antes de
la Misa de quince años.
3) No Misas de XVeras en San Francisco o en la
Iglesia de la Asunción.
GRUPO DE ORACION – se reúne todos los martes a
las 7:00 de la noche para rezar el rosario y después
continuar con alabanzas y oraciones. Todos los que
deseen acompañarnos son bienvenidos.
