We trust his/hers words because we know his/hers heart, and one who speaks the truth speaks what is in the heart. God is faithful and not only is what He does true, but He is Truth itself! God is above all Lord, He Who leads, expects, decides and judges. However, God does not owe to us any payment, compensation or explanation for anything. Our very existence is His gift, and He is always ready to increase our existence with supernatural graces. At the same time, God is the Friend Who always gives and helps, always rewards our reverential love and striving to be good, for He is the Source of all love and good. Indeed, sometime along the way we will become convinced that God is beyond even the best of the best of friends to us that we might imagine, for it is He that no human being ever can replace. -Very Rev. Andrew Szymakowski, J.C.L. (Pastor) CATHOLICS COME HOME: If you or someone you know has been away from the church, come home! God is calling you to be a part of His universal family. We are Catholic. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SICK OF OUR PARISH AND THEIR FAMILIES: Joyce Benbenek, Jody Heiman, Shannon Rackowski, Michelle Milne, Angeles Rojas, Evelyn Wolfe, Kevin Kuney, Steve O’Leary, Rema Bedaywi, James Steinthal, Jim Radloff, Fr. John Waldron, Anne MacTavish, Eileen O’ Brien, Rick Vaughn, Juvenal Robles-Ortiz, Karen Miller-Cecil, Audrey Murphy, Emilia Escobedo, Tetra Ramon, Jobita Alonzo, Ron Thorn, Jim Smith, Marilyn Jo, Marie Jose, Lorena and Greg Smith, Kevin and Kelly Imming, Mary Holm, Gwen Berry, Cheryl Mundell, Richard Kellogg, McKenzie Leary, Wendy Shoop, Kevin Berger, Barbara Marshall, Brian Greene, Trisha MacTavish, Ron Cole, Walt Shuey, Peter Fuchs, Mary Alsup, and Jim Ozouf Prayer of Pope Francis for the Jubilee: Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: “If you knew the gift of God!” You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God. Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. We ask this of you, Lord Jesus, through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy; you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen. Amen. THIS SPACE IS AVAILABLE! PRAYER FOR COMMUNITY: Embracing Father, You grace each of us with equal measure in your love. Let us learn to love our neighbors more deeply, so that we can create peaceful and just communities. Inspire us to use our creative energies to build the structures we need to overcome the obstacles of intolerance and indifference. May Jesus provide us the example needed and send the Spirit to warm our hearts for the journey. Amen. YEAR OF MERCY QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “But you, man of God, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.” (1 Tim 6:11) For men – and women – of God, no better “marching orders” could be found! When have you done more than was required of you? How do you feel after doing something extra for a family member or a friend?
