TWENTY-EIGHT SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The spirit of wisdom, as we discover in today’s first
reading, comes to those who pray for her. Wisdom, like the
word of God, carries a message of consolation as well as of
great challenge. The Letter to the Hebrews tells us that the
word of God, infused with the wisdom of God, is “sharper
than any two-edged sword. Jesus, the living word of God.
Just when the young man thought he had done enough to
fulfill God’s commands, more was asked of him. This is no
less true for.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY
We are called to this Eucharistic celebration – along with
Catholics in every parish, chapel and church throughout the
world – to recommit ourselves to the call we heard at
Baptism, to share our faith, to be missionaries.
Let us prayer at this Mass for all who long to hear the hopefilled, life-giving message of Jesus’ love and salvation. Let
offer generous financial help to the society for the
Propagation of the Faith in support of the service of priests,
religious and lay catechists in more than 1,150 local
churches throughout Africa, Asia, The pacific Islands and
remote regions of Latin America.

as house slippers, sweaters, metro cards, breast
pumps, scarves, etc. These gifts will be offered to God
the Father during the Sunday Masses at 10am and

Hoy aprendemos en la primera lectura que el espíritu de la
sabiduría llega a los que lo invocan. La sabiduría, como la
Palabra de Dios, lleva un mensaje de consuelo y a la vez
constituye un gran desafío. La carta a los hebreos nos
cuenta que la Palabra de Dios, que está empapada con la
sabiduría de Dios, es “más penetrante que una espada de
dos filos”. En el Evangelio, cuando el joven pensaba que
había hecho lo suficiente para cumplir los mandamientos de
Dios, se le exigió más. Lo mismo sucede en nuestro caso.
