MINISTRY TO THE SICK & HOMEBOUND
Call the parish office to make arrangements to administer this
sacrament for one who is sick or homebound or in the hospital.
The Parish Priests visit the sick & homebound and administer
the Holy Eucharist, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the
sacrament of the sick on the First Friday of the month.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound on weekends.
MARRIAGE
MATRIMONIO
Call the parish office and make an appointment with one of the
parish priests for the required preparations and to set the wedding date. Ordinarily preparations will take at least six months.
QUINCEAÑERAS
Call one of the parish priests to make an appointment to set the
quinceañera date. The quinceañera is expected to have received
all three Sacraments of initiation. Baptism, Holy Communion
and Confirmation. The family is expected to be registered and
worship in the parish. Preparations will take at least six months.

FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT
FROM THE DESK OF THE PASTOR:
God loves each one of us personally.
In his inaugural address, Pope Benedict XVI said: “We are not some casual
meaningless product of evolution.
Each of us is the result of a loving
thought of God. Each of us is willed, each of is loved,
and each of us is necessary.”
God’s love is so great that within each of us is a yearning
to pursue and know the meaning of our lives and to understand the mysteries of life. When we take time to enter into these mysteries, we are striving to know God.
During these Lenten forty days, Jesus invites us as a people of the new covenant, to spend some time with him.
Will we accept the invitation to go to the desert with Jesus? Now is the acceptable time!
Lenten Sunday’s first readings from the Old Testament
help us know God through his covenants with the Israelites. In today’s covenant story of Noah and the flood,
the bow in the sky is a divine sign that God will never use
the waters to destroy mortal life again.
SCHEDULE OF SERVICES DURING THE LENTEN SEASON
Daily Masses: Mondays to Saturdays: 8:00am & 5:15pm in English
and Wednesdays & Saturdays at 6:30pm in Spanish.
Sunday Mass Schedule: 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am, 12 Noon in
Spanish and 5:15pm.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Identifying Ourselves with Christ:
In English: Mondays (with School children) at 1:45pm on: March
5th, 12th, 26th, and April 2nd.
In English: Fridays at 5:15pm followed by Mass:
February 24th, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th.
In Spanish: Wednesdays' at 6:30pm followed by
Mass: February 29th, March 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th.
Sacrament of Reconciliation: The Sacrament of God’s
Love, mercy and compassion. Every Saturday we have two priests
administering this sacrament from 4pm to 5pm. Please come early
and prepare in the silence of the church for this sacrament of peace
and reconciliation.
Our Parish Lenten Bulletin (available in the vestibule of the Church)
is offered as a help to prepare for confession.
GENERAL NORMS ON ABSTINENCE
General Norms: All the faithful who have made their First Communion are bound to worthily (celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation) receive Holy Communion during the Easter season.
On Abstinence: Everyone fourteen years of age and older is bound
to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, the Fridays of Lent and
Good Friday.
ADORATION OF THE MOST
BLESSED SACRAMENT
The Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Holy
Hour Adoration will take place this coming Friday, March 2nd, following immediately after the
5:15 pm Mass. We will also pray the Stations of the Cross.
We urge you to take this opportunity to come for this Adoration.
This is a beautiful experience to place ourselves in the presence
of God’s love and mercy, to give thanks for all that God has
given us and reach out to others who are less fortunate than us.

ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL of 2012
Each year our Archbishop requests our help to support
him to operate the central Archdiocesan offices in order
to coordinate and administrate resources for various parishes in the Archdiocese. The cost of this endeavor is
distributed among parishes in our three counties of San
Mateo, San Francisco and Marin. Our share of the cost
this new year is $ 50,900.00.
We thank all who have generously contributed in the
past and urge you, to please join in our efforts to help
reach our goal this year.

ALL SOULS CATHOLIC PRESCHOOL
As stake holders of All Souls Parish and stewards of the Parish Buildings and Grounds, and ministries in the areas of Catholic Education,
you will be pleased to know that we have launched our own brand new
“All Souls Catholic Preschool”. The plans are in place to have this Preschool up and running this Fall of 2012.
At this initial stage of its inception, the enrollment will be limited to 24
children ranging from the age of 3 to 4 years and from 4 to 5 years.
Presently the Science Laboratory will be remodeled to accommodate
this venture. Should the enrollments increase and become a promising
sizeable factor in the near future, we will consider remodeling the convent building to meet that need.
We have hired Mrs. Rose Mary Omron as the Director of this Preschool.
Initially she will have the responsibility of obtaining the necessary license and bring all the ideas, plans, programs, to tangible shape and
form.
All Souls Marriage Enrichment Announcement
We would like to invite couples in the parish to join in a
Marriage Renewal Dinner, an evening to Celebrate Your
Marriage. Join other All Souls couples for dinner, fellowship, fun and an inspirational talk about the how to
strong marriage rekindles your couple connection and
strengthens the family.

RITE OF ELECTION
Catechumens preparing to be baptized this
Easter take part in the Rite of Election today. Our Archbishop, George H. Niederauer will celebrate this rite with the Catechumens in the Cathedral of St. Mary of
the Assumption at 3:30 in the afternoon.
This service also includes a call to continuing conversion for
candidates for reception into the full communion with the
Catholic Church.
This year we have 6 Catechumens on their journey of faith
to be fully initiated in the Catholic Church, and 13 candidates for confirmation.
We request you therefore to remember these catechumens
and candidates in your prayers. The parish community is
called upon today to celebrate this rite of sending at the
10:30am mass and show that you care, support and approve them.
PRIMER DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
Reflexiones del Párroco:
Dios ama a cada uno de nosotros personalmente. En su discurso inaugural, el Papa
Benedicto XVI dijo: "No somos algún producto casual sin sentido de la evolución.
Cada uno de nosotros es el resultado de un pensamiento
amoroso de Dios. Cada uno de nosotros es querido, cada
uno es amado y cada uno de nosotros es necesario.
El amor de Dios es tan grande que dentro de cada uno de
nosotros esta un anhelo de seguir y conocer el significado
de nuestras vidas y comprender los misterios de la vida.
Cuando tomamos el tiempo para entrar en estos misterios,
estamos luchando por conocer a Dios.
Durante estos cuarenta días de Cuaresma, Jesús nos invita
como pueblo del nuevo pacto, para pasar más tiempo
con él. ¿Aceptaremos la invitación para ir al desierto con
Jesús? Ahora es el tiempo aceptable!
Las primeras lecturas los Domingos de Cuaresma del Antiguo Testamento nos ayudan a conocer a Dios a través de
sus pactos con los Israelitas. En la historia de hoy el Pacto
de Noé y el diluvio, el arco en el cielo es una señal divina
que Dios nunca utilizará las aguas para destruir la vida
mortal nuevamente.

NORMAS GENERALES—ABSTINENCIA
Normas Generales: Todos los fieles que han hecho su Primera Comunión están obligados a (celebrar dignamente el sacramento de
reconciliación) recibir la Santa Comunión durante la temporada de la
Pascua.
Sobre la Abstinencia: Todas las personas mayores de catorce años
están obligadas a abstenerse de comer carne el Miércoles de Ceniza,
los Viernes de Cuaresma y el Viernes Santo.

generosidad. Nuestro próximo proyecto es “Arreglar las ventanas” del edificio de la Oficina Parroquial/Rectoría.

APELACIÓN ANUAL DEL ARZOBISPO del 2012
Cada año nuestro Arzobispo pide nuestra ayuda para
apoyarlo en operar las oficinas centrales de la Arquidiócesis a fin de coordinar y administrar los recursos de
diversas parroquias de la Arquidiócesis. El costo de
este esfuerzo se distribuye entre parroquias en nuestros tres condados de San Mateo, San Francisco y Marin. Nuestra participación en el costo de este año es $
50,900.00.
Le damos las gracias a todos aquellos quienes generosamente contribuyeron en el pasado y les urgimos que
por favor se unan a nuestros esfuerzos para ayudar
lograr nuestra meta este año. Gracias!!!
RITO DE ELECCIÓN:
Catecúmenos preparándose para
ser bautizados esta Pascua toman parte en el Rito de
Elección hoy. Nuestro Arzobispo George H. Niederauer
celebrará este rito con los Catecúmenos en la Catedral de
Santa María de la Asunción a las 3:30 de la tarde.
Este servicio también incluye un llamado a continuar la
conversión de candidatos para la recepción a la plena
comunión con la Iglesia Católica.
Este año tenemos 6 Catecúmenos en su jornada de fe para ser plenamente iniciados en la Iglesia Católica y 13
candidatos para confirmación.
Por lo tanto, les pedimos recordar a estos catecúmenos y
candidatos en sus oraciones. La comunidad parroquial es
llamada hoy a celebrar este rito de envió en la misa de
10:30 am y mostrar cuidado, apoyo y aprobación de ellos.
ESCUELA PREESCOLAR CATÓLICA DE ALL SOULS
Como partes interesadas de la parroquia de All Souls y administradores de los Edificios y Terrenos de la Parroquia y ministerios en las
áreas de la Educación Católica, se complacerán en saber que hemos
lanzado nuestra propia "Escuela Preescolar Católica de All Souls". Los
planes están en lugar para tener el Preescolar funcionando este Otoño
del 2012.
En esta etapa inicial de su creación, la inscripción se limitará a 24
niños de la edad de 3 a 4 años y 4 a 5 años. Actualmente el Laboratorio de Ciencia se remodelará para acomodar esta aventura. Si las
inscripciones aumentan y se convierten en un factor considerable
prometedor en el futuro cercano, consideraremos la remodelación del
convento para satisfacer esa necesidad.
Hemos contratado a la Sra. Rose Mary Omron como Directora de este
Preescolar. Inicialmente ella tendrá la responsabilidad de obtener las
licencias necesarias y llevar todas las ideas, planes, programas, a una
forma manejable.
