We are happy to inform you that we are continuing our new summer tradition of the Summer Learning Passport experience. The Consolidated School District of New Britain is excited to share this wonderful summer opportunity with you and your families. This year’s passport has some familiar pages, as well as some new additions. Each page displays a possible activity that you and your child can participate in over the summer, has space for your child to write about his or her experience, and space for the location to stamp or sticker the passport to verify attendance at the activity. Each location will have a poster displaying that they are a participating passport location. The passport is not a scavenger hunt for stamps and stickers. Our hope is that children and families take time to explore all that the city of New Britain has to offer. Your children have the opportunity to spend the summer visiting exciting locations in New Britain and learning along the way. The dates and times of the programs at each location vary. Please pay careful attention to the hours of operation or specific program dates listed on the individual pages BEFORE planning your visits. Use the phone numbers provided on each page to clarify dates, hours and times. Some locations REQUIRE A RESERVATION so please read pages carefully. In September your child should bring the passport back to his or her school. There will be a drop box located in each school’s main office for collection of passports. Every child who returns a passport documenting a minimum of 2 sites visited will be eligible for entry into a raffle. All participants will receive a certificate for their effort. This is an exciting school/home and community summer partnership for all K-5 students from the 2015-2016 school year. Help make this summer a summer to remember.
