Inwood Little League provides, for more than 800 kids from ages 5 to 18, the opportunity to learn and have fun
playing the great game of baseball. The League serves children who live in upper Manhattan from
181st Street to 220th Street West of Broadway and from Hillside Avenue to 220th Street East of Broadway.
Our home fields are in Inwood Hill Park. Our older players (13 and up) play some inter-league with teams from
other leagues in District 23 (Manhattan and West Bronx).
In July, our all-star teams participate in the International Little League Tournament. Our teams are often
district champions and our older players have reached the State semifinals numerous times.
We have a separate summer league in which our teams sometimes travel to play in places like New Jersey,
Westchester, Connecticut and Brooklyn.
We also have a separate instructional indoor winter program where a limited number of our younger players
(ages 5 through 11) learn and practice baseball in a local school gym on Saturdays from October to February.
Inwood Little League is the oldest Little League in New York City. It was founded in 1950. Thousands of kids
have gone through our league learning baseball and having fun. Some have gone on to play professionally.
Our most famous player is basketball great, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and this year we are honored to say that
Pedro Alvarez was the second draft pick to go on to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The bulk of our income is from registration
fees. Additional
money comes from sponsors, grants and
fund-raising events.
All our managers, coaches and league officials are volunteers.

La Liga de Inwood provee servicios a mas de 800 nirios de las edades de 5 a 18 arios, dandoles la
oportunidad de aprender el gran juego de beisbol a la vez que se divierten y aprenden disciplina. La Liga Ie
sirve a los nirios que residen en el alto Manhattan, en la vecindad de Inwood, en Washington Heights y en el
Bronx.
Nuestros campos anfitriones estan en Inwood Hill Park. Nuestros jugadores mayores (13 anos en adelante)
juegan juegos de intercambio con equipos de otras ligas en distrito 23 (Manhattan, el Bronx y Queens).

La Liga Pequeria de Inwood es la liga pequeria mas antigua en la ciudad de Nueva York, fundada en 1950.
Miles de nirios han pasado por nuestra liga, aprendiendo beisbol y disciplina. Algunos han procedido a jugar
profesionalmente. Nuestro jugador mas famoso es el gran baloncista, Kareem Abdul Jabbar y este lario
estamos orgullosos de decir que Pedro Alvarez fue seleccionado en la segunda ronda de la MLB para el

Become a Sponsor
Suggested benefits for the local Little League to provide to individual team sponsors:
Name of business on uniform: This practice has been in place in Little League Baseball since its
inception in 1939. The name of the business sponsoring the team could be placed on the front or
back of the uniform, or on the caps. Remember, the name of the business must not imply the sale or
use of alcohol or tobacco, or any product or activity not in keeping with Little League's good name.
For example, "Joe's Grocery Store" is acceptable, even if Joe's Grocery Store sells tobacco products.
However, "Joe's Discount Cigarette Outlet" would not be acceptable. Also, the name of the business
must not offend community standards. This is a decision of the local Little League board of directors.
Name of business on fence sign: Many leagues use outfield fence signs to recognize sponsors,
provided the signs are permitted by local laws and ordinances. Remember, the name of the business
must not imply the sale or use of alcohol or tobacco, or any product or activity not in keeping with
Little League's good name. For example, "Joe's Grocery Store" is acceptable, even if Joe's Grocery
Store sells tobacco products. However, "Joe's Discount Cigarette Outlet" would not be acceptable.

Recognition Day: Some leagues set one day aside to recognize their team sponsors. The President
of a company or local manager, may be asked to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, and invited to
watch a game.
Recognition Plaques or Certificates: Some leagues produce a plaque, with a team photo, in honor
of the team sponsor, a certificate of appreciation. These are often displayed by the sponsor as a
matter of community pride.
Programs and Scorecards: Many leagues produce some kind of program. Recognition of sponsors
in this publication is always useful.
Remember, sponsorship of a team does not give the sponsor any rights in the operation of, or
the outfitting of, any particular team or the league itself.

Local Little League Sponsorship Agreement
This agreement between the
INWOOD-MANHATTAN
Little League
(hereinafter, "Local Little League") and
_
(hereinafter, "Sponsor") is for the
2012
season.
Sponsorship of a team in the Local Little League must be, for the Sponsor, out of a sense of duty to help
the community. Whi Ie Sponsorship does afford some benefits (detailed below), the higher purpose is to help the
Local Little League impart the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fairplay to the children of the
community, so that they may someday use these values in becoming good citizens.
Sponsorship of a team in the Local Little League does not permit the Sponsor to have any rights or
responsibilities in the operation of the Local Little League or any team in the Local Little League, nor does the
Sponsor have any rights or responsibilities in the selection of managers, coaches or players for any team in the
Local Little League. Nothing herein shall make us partners or joint venturers. The Sponsor and the Local Little
League are independent contractors with respect to one another, and neither shall have any authority to
represent or bind the other in any manner or to any extent whatsoever, except as specified herein.
The Sponsor shall have the right to use the following term in advertisements, posters, brochures,
newsletters, etc.: "Sponsor of a team in the (Local Little League)." Sponsorship does NOT give the Sponsor
the right to use the word "official" in connection with its Sponsorship. Any reference to the Sponsorship under
this agreement must make it clear that the Sponsorship is with a team or teams in the Local Little League only,
and NOT for Little League Baseball and Softball. Use of the "keystone logo" or any other logo of Little League
Baseball and Softball is prohibited, unless permission is expressly granted in writing by Little League International.
Sponsorship in the Local Little League carries with it the following additional benefits:
Sponsors Name will appear on Uniforms and Banner. Banner will be displayed during Opening Day Parade &
Ceremonies.
Sponsor will receive team plaque during trophy ceremonies
Sponsors address will be posted on the league website: www.inwoodbaseball.org
For the considerations above, the Sponsor donates One-Team - $700.00, Two-Teams - $1,200.00
the Local Little League, understanding that its donation is to benefit the entire league.
