Vive la magia de la selva de Gamboa de una forma única, ascendiendo a
una altura de 280 metros del suelo, veras el dosel del bosque bañado de
sol con sus mil tonos de verde que sólo son interrumpidos por los
vibrantes colores de los árboles en flor. Coloridas aves y mariposas son
parte del entorno que rodea su trayectoria en las góndolas, de las cuales
con suerte se pueden observar perezosos, monos capuchino y escuchar
los fuertes ruidos de los monos aulladores a la distancia.
Una corta caminata desde la parte superior donde desembarcamos de
las góndolas nos lleva a la torre de observación, donde se puede ver todo
el panorama del Río Chagres, el Corte Culebra y el bosque a su alrededor.
El tour culmina con la visita a las exhibiciones ecológicas que incluyen el
Orquidiario, Mariposario y Tierra de Ranas.

El Canal de Panamá, conocido como la octava maravilla del mundo,
conecta a través de 80 km de largo, el Mar Caribe con el Océano
Pacifico y es clave para el comercio marítimo internacional.
Las Esclusas de Miraflores, una de tres grupos de esclusas en el Canal
de Panamá, fueron diseñadas como elevadores de agua, elevando los
barcos un total de 26 metros sobre el nivel del mar al Lago Gatún.
En Miraflores se encuentra el Centro de Visitantes donde verá un corto
video - resumen del pasado y del presente del Canal. Además cuenta
con maquetas que explican la operación del Canal y hay objetos
utilizados en la construcción en exhibición.
Desde la terraza principal se puede observar el proceso de acenso y
descenso de los navíos que asombran por su tamaño y belleza.

La primera ciudad de Panama (Panama La Vieja) fue fundada en 1519 por
los conquistadores Españoles y fue el punto de partida para las expediciones que Conquistaron el Imperio Inca en Perú.
En 1671 el pirata Inglés Henry Morgan junto a 1,400 hombres atacaron y
saquearon la ciudad que fue destruida posteriormente por fuego. Fue
reconstruida en 1673 en una nueva ubicación a unos 8kms, al suroeste
de la ciudad original, hoy conocido como el Casco Antiguo de la ciudad
y reconocido por la UNESCO como Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad.

También visitará la "Calzada de Amador", un grupo de tres islas unidas a
tierra firme por los espigones del Canal de Panamá. El Ejército de Estados
Unidos utilizó esta área para la defensa del Canal, debido a su ubicación
estratégica. Hoy la calzada se ha transformado en un centro de restaurantes, bares, zonas comerciales.

Villa Indígena Emberá y Aventura en Canoa

La aventura lleva por pueblos Panameños de áreas rurales en las
márgenes del Río Chagres, donde los Indios Emberá han vivido
durante muchos años. Un paseo por el río en canoas tradicionales de
madera talladas a mano por los Emberá da inicio a un mágico encuentro cultural. Al llegar a la aldea, sentirá como si hubiera retrocedido en
el tiempo, apreciando danzas y escuchando música de los antiguos
Emberá, que casi no han cambiado desde que Cristóbal Colón llegó
hace ya más de 1,500 años.
Los nativos invitarán a explorar los alrededores donde observaran
variedad de aves y vida silvestre. Una caminata le llevará a través de la
vegetación donde aprenderán de las bondades de la medicina curativa de la madre naturaleza. Las mujeres Emberá son conocidas por
confeccionar los más finos cestos del mundo. También crean hermosos objetos hechos de hojas de palma y teñidos con pigmentos
naturales. Antes de regresar a la civilización, los Emberá le invitarán a
un tradicional almuerzo de pescado fresco y patacones. Al final habrá
oportunidad de comprar un recuerdo de su magnífica artesanía.

El buque navegará 12.6 kilómetros por el Corte Culebra para llegar a
las Esclusas de Pedro Miguel. En ruta pasará por debajo del espectacular Puente Centenario, el cual cruza sobre el Canal, antes de llegar al
extremo sur del Corte.
La nave descenderá 9 metros en las esclusas de Pedro Miguel, el
primero de dos juegos de esclusas ubicadas en el Pacifico. Cruzará el
Lago Miraflores, un pequeño lago artificial de agua dulce, el cual
separa las Esclusas de Pedro Miguel de las Esclusas de Miraflores,
siendo estas las últimas esclusas antes de llegar al Océano Pacifico. En
las Esclusas de Miraflores el buque desciende 18 metros.
La ruta del Tránsito Parcial puede ser Norte o Sur según el calendario establecido por el crucero.

A tan sólo dos horas en auto a través de aldeas rurales y verdes
colinas, al oeste de la Ciudad de Panamá se encuentra el pintoresco
pueblo “El Valle”, situado en el cráter de un volcán gigante ya
extinto.Para entrar en el cráter hay que bordear el mismo y en ruta hay
oportunidad de apreciar vistas espectaculares de esta zona
montañosa.
El Valle, es un pueblo tranquilo situado a 1,000 metros sobre el nivel
del mar, rodeado de frondosos bosques, montañas y arroyos espumosos. El Valle goza de un clima fresco y frío; conocido como la tierra de
la eterna primavera. Durante el recorrido visitará el Jardín Botánico El
Níspero, la cascada El Macho, así como las aguas termales.
Después disfrutará de un almuerzo en un restaurante del pueblo y
luego tendrá la oportunidad de comprar en el mercado de artesanía
local.

El transito comienza en Gamboa, en el extremo norte de Corte
Culebra, donde el Río Chagres desemboca en el Canal. El Corte
Culebra nombrado así por sus curvas que asemejan a una serpiente,
es una de las principales atracciones, ya que fue tallado a través de la
División Continental, lleno de historia y de interés geológico.

Experience the magic of the Gamboa Rainforest, ascending some 280 ft. (85
mts.), from the shadowy forest floor through the dense vegetation and up to
the sun drenched canopy with its thousand shades of green that are only
interrupted by the vibrant colors of flowering trees.
Colorful birds and butterflies are abundant here, and you might also
encounter a sloth or a white-faced Capuchin Monkey and hear the Howler
Monkeys´ loud call in the distance. From the tram, a short hike takes you to
the observation tower, from where you can see the panoramic view of the
Chagres River, the Gaillard Cut and the lush surrounding rainforest. The tour

The Panama Canal, known as the 8th wonder of the world, is a 50 mile (80
kms.) ship channel that joins the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It
is a key conduit for international maritime trade - one of the greatest
works of engineering in history.
The Miraflores Locks are one of three sets of locks, which work as water
lifts, raising and lowering ships from sea level up to the Gatun Lake water
level, a total of 85 ft. (26 mts.); the ships then sail the channel through the
Continental Divide.
There is a Visitor Center at Miraflores, where a 10-minute video can be
seen summarizing the past and the present of the Panama Canal and
four floors of exhibits which include historic pieces, interactive modules,
video presentations and models of the Panama Canal.
At the end, you will see the day-to-day operation of the locks from the

This is a trip to paradise in its purest form! The enchanting journey takes
you deep into the dense jungles of the Chagres River where the Emberá
Indians have lived for many years. The adventure begins with a ride up
the river in wooden canoes the Emberá’s traditional hand carved
dugouts. On arrival to the village you will be taken back in time as you
observe the ancient Emberá’s dances and listen to their music that have
hardly changed since Christopher Columbus arrived in the 1500´s.The
natives will take you on a hike through virgin jungle to explore the
surrounding areas, and learn about the medicine provided by mother
nature and possibly sight birds and wildlife. The Emberá women are
known as one of the world’s finest basketmakers. They also create beautiful objects made out of palm leaves dyed with natural pigments.
Before returning to civilization, the Emberás will invite you to a traditional lunch of fresh fish and plantains and you will have the opportunity to
purchase their gorgeous handicrafts.

The tour concludes with a visit to the “Amador Causeway”, a group of three
islands linked to the main land by the breakwaters of the Panama Canal.
The U.S. Army used this area for the defense of the Panama Canal because of
its strategic location. Today the Causeway has been transformed into a
center of restaurants, bars, shopping areas.

In 1671, the English Pirate Henry Morgan with a band of 1400 men attacked
and looted the city, which was subsequently destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt
in 1673 in the current location approximately 5 miles (8kms.) southwest of
the original city and is now known as the Casco Viejo, the Old Quarter of the
city. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a perfect place for a walking tour
filled with history.

The vessel will sail the Culebra Cut's 7.8 miles (12.6 kms.) on the way to
Pedro Miguel Locks. You will pass under the spectacular Centennial
Bridge, which crosses over the Canal, before reaching the southern end of
the Cut.
Next, you will enter Pedro Miguel Locks, one of the two setsof locks
located on the Pacific side, where the vessel is lowered 29.5 ft. (9 mts.) in
one step. After which the vessel will enter Miraflores Lake, a small artificial
body of fresh water that separates Pedro Miguel from Miraflores Locks,
the latter being the final set of locks before reaching the Pacific Ocean. At
Miraflores Locks the vessel is lowered 59 ft. (18 mts.) in two separate steps.

At just two hours drive through rural villages and rolling green hills, to the
west of Panama City you can find the picturesque town of El Valle, nestled
in the crater of a giant extinct volcano. To enter the crater, it is necessary
to pass over its edge giving the opportunity to appreciate spectacular
views over this fertile mountainous area.
It is a peaceful town, surrounded by lush forests and jagged peaks with
sparkling creeks adding to the beauty of the valley. Situated at 3.230fts
(1000mts) above sea level, El Valle enjoys a fresh and cool climate and is
known as the land of eternal spring. During the tour, you will have the
opportunity to visit the Botanical Garden El Níspero, El Macho Waterfall
