Tony is from Nativity Parish and he has two more years at the seminary before priestly ordination. His six-session class on Matthew’s Gospel has been very well received by the 30+ participants. I’m sure they would welcome new members if you would want to attend his final two sessions. They are held on Thursdays at 12:30 PM in the parish center. Where has the summer gone! All our programs are gearing back up for the Fall session. School begins August 11th, Sunday School begins August 17th and RCIA begins August 6th. I might say a word about RCIA. This program prepares those who are interested in learning more about being Catholic, especially those who might wish to join our faith. I have often been struck by the faith journeys of those who step forward, often bringing with them the richness of their Protestant faith. It is a great joy to walk with these folks throughout the eight month program that culminates with Easter. If you know anyone who might be interested, please let them know. More contact information is in the bulletin. We are continuing to offer confessions in the chapel on Saturday afternoon, during the construction period, from 4-5 PM. Come and know the mercy of God. God’s Blessings and Love, New on our website! Thanks to those of you who have set up your online giving! We have set up an online giving link on our website, www.holyspirit-indy.org. From this link, you can securely set up your Sunday Collection payments, pledge to the Worship Space Renovation, give a memorial gift or a gift to the school annual fund. We will add more collections in the future. If you currently give your collection by our Sunday Collection automatic transfer, you can sign up for the new system online and then let us know to cancel your other giving. Why would you do that? Well, with the new system, you will be in control, you can stop or alter your payments, change dates, increase or reduce giving. If you don't currently give electronically, take a look at our website and give it a try! HOLY SPIRIT – PARISH SUPPORT THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFTS! We have to know who is in our buildings. For the safety, security and convenience for all, we give a schedule to our security team; if your event is not on the schedule, they will come in and question you and ask for identification. For best results, you can ask for a confirmation sheet when you reserve your space. Emailing requests to: [email protected] is one way to reserve space. Your space is not reserved until you receive a return email, or you can call the Parish Office at 353-9404 to make a reservation. Even if your meeting involves Fr. Paul or Fr. Juan, please do not assume that they are scheduling a meeting space. Thank you! View this bulletin online at www.TheCatholicDirectory.com August 3, 2014 Scecina High School is in need of Host Families! Cultural Exchange & Ministry Opportunity! Scecina High School is in need of host families for this coming school year. Please prayerfully consider this unique and rewarding opportunity. Scecina High School will be accepting eleven foreign exchange students from China and Thailand for the 2014-2015 academic school year. These exchange students are serious about their high school education and have picked Scecina because of it’s reputation as an excellent school. They will be arriving in just a few days! These students are interested in learning about the American culture as they become part of an American family and want to offer your family the opportunity to learn about their culture. In addition to providing a loving home you will also be given the opportunity to share your faith with a wonderful child who has never heard about the love of God. As a host family, you will receive $400 a month to help with the expenses of an additional person living in the home. If you have a child attending Scecina, he/she will receive $1000 scholarship toward their tuition. The exchange students will be responsible for all of their expenses (for school and all extracurricular activities). You do not need to have a child at Scecina in order to be a host family but you will need to provide transportation. The student may share a room with a sibling of the same gender. For more information, please contact FLAG representative Sara at 317-443-3636 or [email protected], or Scecina principal John Hegarty at 317-356-6377 or email at: [email protected].
