not only teach the faith but live it.

"Made for Grace: Human Freedom and Flourishing in the 21st Century"
Created by God and for God, we are made to receive life as a gift.
Contrary to modern notions of freedom, our radical dependency on
God and His grace is what actually sets us free. In this talk we will
investigate the truth of the nature of the human person and the freeing
action of grace within our soul. In the end, we will find that living our
life in accord with our human nature and God’s grace is what truly sets
us free to flourish.

Catechetical Formation Program Credit: Five (5) Notional Hours toward Catechist
Certification requirements are awarded for attendance at the Diocesan Catechetical Conference.
The Conference has become an essential component of the Catechetical Formation Program.
Catechists already certified must attend at least one Diocese of Nashville Catechetical
Conference every three years for renewal certification purposes.
Sister Amelia, O.P. is a Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia and currently
serves as a religion teacher at the Congregation owned high school
for young women, St. Cecilia Academy, Nashville, TN. In addition to
teaching, Sister assists with the Aquinas College Catechist Formation
Program in Spanish in the Dioceses of Nashville and Lexington.
La Hermana Amelia, O.P es una hermana Dominica de la Congregación
de Santa Cecilia y actualmente sirve como maestra de religión de
la preparatoria para adolescentes “Academia Santa Cecilia”, en Nashville, TN,
perteneciente a la Congregación. Además de enseñar, la Hermana Amelia ayuda con
el Programa de Formación de Catequistas en español, del Aquinas College, en las
Diócesis de Nashville y Lexington.
Damien O’Connor has a MA in Religious Education and has worked for
the Church in various capacities. Serving as a religion teacher and Assistant Headmaster at Iona Preparatory in New Rochelle, NY; as Campus
Minister for Catholic Evangelization at Villanova University; and Executive Director of Nazareth Farm, Inc. that works with 2000 young adults
annually to rehabilitate homes in the Appalachian Mountains in WV.
He was the Director of Adult Formation for the Diocese of Bridgeport
and also directed the Faith Formation office. He was appointed to the
National Advisory Council (NAC) of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
(USCCB) and later elected Chairperson. Damien is currently a coach for His Way At
Work, teaching secular businesses how to apply Christian values in the workplace.
El Padre Christiano Núñez es nativo de Brasil y tiene un B.A en
Filosofía y un S.T.B en Teología Sagrada de la Universidad Pontificia St.
Thomas Aquino, en Roma (Angelicum). Fue ordenado el 26 de Julio de
2014. Ha estado envuelto en el Ministerio de Jóvenes desde 1987 y en
la formación catequética de adultos en Brasil desde 1989. Entró a la
vida religiosa en 1994 y en el año 2000 fue enviado como misionero
a Jamaica, W.I., en donde permaneció por 11 años trabajando como
asesor para el Encuentro Nacional de Jóvenes, como miembro del
Departamento de Desarrollo Personal de una preparatoria y como Consejero Guía.
Los caminos de Dios lo trajeron a la Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción en Clarksville, TN
donde actualmente sirve como Pastor Asociado
Augusto Michael Trujillo is the Relationship Manager for the Southeast Regional Office of Catholic Relief Services and works with the
dioceses in Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. He also facilitates CRS
Southeast relationships with diocesan communication directors, Catholic and secular media and promotes the many faith formation programs
of CRS like CRS Rice Bowl and fair trade. Michael speaks on the work of
the Church in development/humanitarian aid, global solidarity, hunger,
charity and justice.
Augusto Michael Trujillo es el Gerente de Relaciones de la Oficina Regional del
Suroeste de “Servicios Católicos de Ayuda” (Catholic Relief Services) y trabaja con
las Diócesis de Georgia, Tennessee y Alabama. También facilita las relaciones de
CRS del Sureste con los directores diocesanos de comunicación, con los Medios
Católicos y seculares y promueve muchos de los programas de formación de la fe,
tales como el Tazón de Arroz de CRS y el de comercio justo. Michael habla sobre el
trabajo de la Iglesia en el desarrollo/ayuda humanitaria, la solidaridad mundial, el
hambre, la caridad y la justicia.

libera. En esta charla investigaremos la verdad de la naturaleza del ser
humano y la acción liberadora de la gracia dentro de nuestra alma. Al final
encontraremos que vivir nuestra vida de acuerdo a nuestra naturaleza
humana y la Gracia de Dios es lo que realmente nos hace libres para
desarrollarnos y crecer.

El crédito para el Programa de Formación de Catequistas: cinco (5) horas nocionales
(independientes) hacia los requisitos de certificación de catequista se conceden para asistir
a la Conferencia catequética diocesana. La Conferencia se ha convertido en un componente
esencial del Programa de Formación de Catequistas. Catequistas ya certificados deben asistir
por lo menos a una Conferencia Catequética de la diócesis de Nashville cada tres años para la
renovación de la certificación del catequista.
