Yet in spite of this weakness the Lord, rich in mercy and forgiveness, transforms the life of human beings and calls them to follow him. The humility shown by Isaiah, Peter and Paul invites all who have received the gift of a divine vocation not to focus on their own limitations but rather to keep their gaze fixed on the Lord and on his amazing mercy so that their hearts may be converted and that they may continue joyfully, "to leave everything" to him. Indeed, the Lord does not look at what is important to human beings. "The Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart" and makes human beings who are poor and weak but have faith in him fearless apostles and heralds of salvation. En las experiencias de Isaias, Pedro y Pablo que hoy escuchamos, vemos cómo el encuentro auténtico con Dios lleva al hombre a reconocer su pobreza e insuficiencia, sus limitaciones y su pecado. Pero, a pesar de esta fragilidad, el Señor, rico en misericordia y en perdón, transforma la vida del hombre y lo llama a seguirlo. La humildad de la que dan testimonio Isaías, Pedro y Pablo invita a los que han recibido el don de la vocación divina a no concentrarse en sus propias limitaciones, sino a tener la mirada fija en el Señor y en su sorprendente misericordia, para convertir el corazón, y seguir "dejándolo todo" por él con alegría. De hecho, Dios no mira lo que es importante para el hombre: "El hombre mira las apariencias, pero el Señor mira el corazón", y a los hombres pobres y débiles, pero con fe en él, los vuelve apóstoles y heraldos intrépidos de la salvación.
