First Reading — Isaiah speaks of the Servant whom the LORD upholds;
he shall bring forth justice to the nations (Isaiah 42:1-4, 6-7). Psalm-The
Lord will bless his people with peace (Psalm 29).
Second Reading — Jesus was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit; he
went out healing and doing good (Acts 10:34-38).

We would like to thank all of the wonderful St. Vincent de Paul
volunteers that helped out during the Christmas Season, collecting, packing, sorting and handing out the food and toys.
We would also like to thank everyone who helped make our
Christmas Masses and Services enjoyable to all, parishioner and
visitors alike. We want to thank our Ushers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, Sacristans, Choirs, Cantors, Musicians, everyone who helped decorate our church and the St. Andrew School Staff and Parents. Thank You, Everyone!

We worship by sacrificing a part of our income, and we must realize the
vital role that money plays in the service and abilities of the church. If a
church has more money, it really can do more for others.

that you refrain from assisting
them; instead, please refer them
to St. Vincent de Paul as they
have access to many resources
to help the poor.
Online giving is a fairly new and very effective means for a church to receive more offering so that it can offer more. St. Andrew Church has made
online giving an easy, safe and an effective way for parishioners to contribute to the support of the mission of our parish to provide a diverse and
vibrant Christian community of love.
Many parishioners may feel that online giving is unsafe or that others will
think badly of them, if they are not seen contributing to the collection.
However, online transactions via debit or credit cards are protected and
safe every step of the way. Parishioners find online contributions are a convenient way to contribute
Currently, St. Andrew receives about $10,000 a month from online giving
by our parishioners.
These recurring gifts help to ensure a stable funding source because they
continue even when a parishioner is away on vacation, sick or not able to
attend due to other reasons. Yet, they still contribute to the betterment of
their church because their contribution is automatic.

Greetings! Here are a few updates on our Confirmation Formation Program:
At present we have 103 candidates in our program (61 First Year, 42 Second Year). They closed the Fall
Semester with the Pathways to Prayer conference which was a huge success, and they will be beginning
the next major component of their formation this month: Apprenticeships.
On Sunday, January 5, the Confirmation Candidates gathered together and learned about twelve different ministries here at St. Andrew Parish. At the end of the day, they made their selection of which ministry they would be joining for the next four months as an apprentice- learning skills specific to that particular ministry, under the guidance of an adult mentor who will be working closely with them and accompanying them on their journey of faith. With this component happening, every confirmation candidate will have a team of upwards of seven adults invested in their formation as a Catholic: their parents,
their sponsor, the Director of Confirmation and Youth Ministry, the Parental Advisors (Dr. and Mrs.
Rico- 1st Years; Mr. and Mrs. Baggott- 2nd Years), and now their ministry mentor. Please pray for these
young people and also for their mentors and the ministries that will be receiving them!

El domingo, 5 de enero, los candidatos de confirmación se reunieron y
aprendieron que hay muchos ministerios, pero, de estos, ellos escogieron doce . Al final del día, hicieron su selección de qué ministerio se
les unirán en los próximos cuatro meses, como un aprendiz de habilidades de aprendizaje específico de dicho ministerio en particular, bajo
la guía de un mentor adulto, que trabajarán en estrecha colaboración
con ellos y los acompañara en su camino de fe. Con este componente,
todos los candidatos de confirmación, junto con un equipo de más de
siete adultos comenzaron en su formación como católico: sus padres,
su patrocinador, el Director de la Confirmación y de la Ministerio Juvenil, los asesores de los padres (el Dr. y la Sra. Rico - primero año; y
el Sr. y la Sra. Baggott - segundo año), y ahora su mentor ministerial.
