lighting for drivers and pedestrians and enhance the safety and beautification along the 3800 to 3900 blocks of W. Lawrence Ave.

The noted stretch of Lawrence Avenue is highly trafficked by
street traffic (cars, buses, bikes) and a high volume of pedestrian traffic. The current lights are not bright enough because the
current street lamp conditions are poor and they do not provide
adequate brightness along the street.

The current problem/challenge presented by the poor lighting
is decreased public safety and decreased attractiveness for new
business development. Increasing the lighting on this stretch
of road could encourage increased positive traffic and safety,
increased business prospects and increased business traffic to
new/existing storefronts.

El problema/reto presentado por la luz inadecuada es que
disminuye la seguridad pública y disminuye la capacidad de

STREET AND ALLEY RESURFACING

Resurfacing is necessary to address streets that have deteriorated, are safety hazards and are generally in poor condition. Residents,
businesses and visitors to the 35th Ward will benefit from improved safety when driving.

Vote for these resurfacing projects! Menu money is the only available
funding for residential street resurfacing in Chicago’s wards. Most of
Chicago’s streets and alleys are repaired or ignored without the city’s
resident’s approval. This is our Ward’s chance to make a difference for
our neighbors! The 35th Ward residents and Community Representatives
identified streets and alleys most in need of resurfacing. All streets
submitted for resurfacing are subject to approval by the Chicago
Department of Transportation.
Alley Aprons and Resurfacing - Between 2200 N Lowell and 2200 N
Kedvale. This alley holds a substantial amount of water, which creates a
health risk in the summer and a safety risk in the winter.
Cave in of Street Fix Structure and Repave - 4700 N Harding. The
4700 N Harding block is in very poor condition. Several capital
improvements and water main improvements have been made in this
neighborhood but this block has been overlooked. The condition is
quickly deteriorating due to quick fix patching and increasingly buckling
pavement. This project has been identified by the Ward as a “good
project to fund.”

deteriorando dado que ha avido arreglos rápidos y el pandeo del
pavimento. El distrito ha identificado a este proyecto como un proyecto
bueno para financiar.

Water access for community garden at Milwaukee & Wrightwood in front of
Logan Square Blue Line El stop working through Neighborspace.

Improve Accessibility for All with a Wheelchair Ramp
at the Logan Square Blue Line Station
Vote to improve safety on the sidewalks! It’s important that all residents
can move safely around the 35th Ward. There is no ramp for wheelchairs
to access the sidewalk in front of the Logan Square Blue Line entrance at
2614 N Kedzie. There is a handicapped loading zone in the parking lot here,
but people must enter traffic to get to the wheelchair ramps to the south at
Wrightwood/Kedzie, or north to Milwaukee/Kedzie. The wheelchair ramp
would help many community members who use wheelchairs or walkers, as
well as parents with children in strollers, commuters to the CTA and other
pedestrians using roller carts for groceries. The ramp would give us safe
and convenient access to the Blue Line el stop and other buildings on the
block.
