2.0 Installatie procedure
Dit is het installatiehoofdstuk van de draadloze USB adapter. Gebruik de volgende
stappen om de USB adapter correct te installeren.
2.1 Software installatie (Microsoft Windows)

Schakel je computer in.
Plaats de bijgeleverde installatie CD-ROM in de CD-ROM of DVD-speler van je
computer.
De installatiewizard start automatisch.
Als de installatieprocedure niet automatisch start, kun je ‘Setup.exe’ uitvoeren
vanaf de CD-ROM.
Selecteer ‘Nederlands’.
Klik ‘Next’.
Kies ‘EM4576-4579 Installeren’ en klik op ‘Volgende’.
Als je gebruik maakt van Windows Vista of Windows 7, dan kan het voorkomen
dat er om toestemming wordt gevraagd om het stuurprogramma te mogen
installeren. Uiteraard verleen je deze toestemming.
Volg de instructies op het scherm.
De stuurprogramma’s worden nu geïnstalleerd. Dit kan enkele minuten duren.
Herstart je computer indien er om wordt gevraagd.
Als de computer is herstart kan je de EM4579 op een vrije USB poort van de
computer aansluiten.
Windows vindt nieuwe hardware en zal automatisch de stuurprogramma’s
installeren.
3.0 Het draadloze netwerk beveiligen
Om te voorkomen dat ongewenste personen toegang tot je netwerk kunnen krijgen,
raden we sterk aan om het draadloze netwerk te beveiligen. Deze beveiliging dient in
zowel de draadloze modem als de draadloze USB adapter ingevoerd te worden. De
modem of router zendt dan een beveiligd signaal naar buiten die voor buitenstaanders
niet meer benaderd kan worden.
Er zijn meerdere vormen van beveiliging mogelijk om je draadloze netwerk te
beveiligen. Zorg ervoor dat je zeker weet dat al je draadloze apparatuur in staat is om
de gekozen vorm van beveiliging aan te kunnen. De meest recente en gelijktijdig
sterkste vorm van beveiliging is WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access). Een aantal
aanvullende handig tips worden hieronder genoemd:
Refereer aan de handleiding van je draadloze router of modem om de draadloze
beveiliging in te stellen en te activeren.

Noteer instellingen zoals: De gebruikte beveiligingscode, encryptieniveau (het aantal
bits), methode van versturen (ASCII, Hex etc.), de beveiligingscode en de
sleutelindex. Configureer alle andere draadloze apparatuur in je netwerk en gebruik
daarvoor dezelfde instellingen.
4.0 Met een draadloos netwerk verbinden
Windows 2000 is niet uitgerust met draadloze ondersteuning. Dat is waarom de USB
adapter met speciale configuratiesoftware is uitgerust, bedoeld voor dit
besturingssysteem. Ga verder met hoofdstuk 4.1.
Windows XP is uitgerust met draadloze ondersteuning. We raden je aan om Service
Pack 3 te installeren voor optimale draadloze stabiliteit. Je kunt deze software
downloaden via ‘www.windowsupdate.com’. Deze software verbetert onder andere de
draadloze mogelijkheden van Windows XP.
4.1 Verbinden met Windows 2000

Klik op het icoontje met de rode of groende balken. Dit is het Realtek draadloze
USB hulpprogramma.
Klik op ‘Available Network’.
Een lijst met beschikbare netwerken wordt getoond.
Selecteer je eigen draadloze netwerk en de ‘Add to Profile’ knop.
Als je netwerk is beveiligd, dien je bij ‘Network Authentication’ de behorende
beveiligingstype te selecteren. Als je gebruik maakt van WPA of WPA2, zorg er
dan voor dat je de juiste ‘Data encryption’ selecteert.
Vul je beveiligingscode in bij het ‘Network key’ veld. Bevestig deze code bij het
‘Confirm network key’ veld.
Klik op ‘OK’.
Als je nu de netwerkinstellingen correct hebt ingevuld, zie je de volgende data op
het scherm verschijnen: Signal Strength en Link Quality. Ook een IP-adres,
subnetmasker en gateway zijn aangegeven. Deze gegevens dienen overeen te
komen met de netwerkgegevens van je eigen netwerk.
4.2. Verbinden met Windows XP
Windows XP heeft ingebouwde draadloze ondersteuning. Dankzij deze ondersteuning
zijn er twee manieren om een draadloze verbinding tot stand te brengen: De ‘Windows
wireless configuration’ gebruiken of het Realtek draadloze hulpprogramma. Beide
methodes worden in de volgende stappen uitgelegd.

4.2.1 Verbinden met de Wireless zero config
1. Klik het icoontje met de rode of groene balken aan. Dit is het Realtek draadloze
hulpprogramma.
2. Het programma wordt gestart. Zet een vinkje bij ‘Windows zeroconfig’ en kies
‘Close’.
3. Klik het draadloze netwerk icoontje met de rechtermuisknop aan (rechts onderin
de taakbalk, naast de klok).
4. Kies ‘Beschikbare draadloze netwerken weergeven’.
5. Windows laat een lijst met beschikbare draadloze zien.
6. Klik het netwerk aan dat je wilt verbinden.
7. Klik op ‘Verbinden’.
8. Als het draadloze netwerk niet is beveiligd, en je gebruikt Service Pack 1, dan
dien je ‘Ook verbinding met dit netwerk maken, ook al het netwerk niet is
beveiligd ‘ aan te vinken.
9. Als het netwerk is beveiligd, zal Windows je vragen om de netwerksleutel in te
vullen. Vul je sleutel in en bevestig deze en klik dan op ‘Verbinden’.
10. Als je de netwerksleutel correct hebt ingevuld, zal Windows een draadloze
verbinding tot stand brengen.
11. Gefeliciteerd! Je hebt de draadloze adapter correct geïnstalleerd.
4.2.2 Windows XP verbinden met het Realtek draadloze hulpprogramma
1. Klik op het icoontje met de rode of groende balken. Dit is het Realtek draadloze
USB hulpprogramma.
2. Klik op ‘Available Network’.
3. Een lijst met beschikbare netwerken wordt getoond.
4. Selecteer je eigen draadloze netwerk en de ‘Add to Profile’ knop.
5. Als je netwerk is beveiligd, dien je bij ‘Network Authentication’ de behorende
beveiligingstype te selecteren. Als je gebruik maakt van WPA of WPA2, zorg er
dan voor dat je de juiste ‘Data encryption’ selecteert.
6. Vul je beveiligingscode in bij het ‘Network key’ veld. Bevestig deze code bij het
‘Confirm network key’ veld.
7. Klik op ‘OK’.
8. Als je nu de netwerkinstellingen correct hebt ingevuld, zie je de volgende data op
het scherm verschijnen: Signal Strength en Link Quality. Ook een IP-adres,
subnetmasker en gateway zijn aangegeven. Deze gegevens dienen overeen te
komen met de netwerkgegevens van je eigen netwerk.

Klik op verbinding maken. Dit kan enkele seconden duren.
Selecteer ‘Netwerk opslaan’ en/of ‘Automatisch starten’ als je dit netwerk in de
toekomst automatisch wilt verbinden.

7.0 Waarschuwingen en aandachtspunten
Vanwege wet- en regelgeving bepaald door het Europese parlement, kan sommige
(draadloze) apparatuur onderhevig zijn aan beperkingen omtrent het gebruik in
bepaalde Europese lidstaten. In sommige Europese lidstaten kan het gebruik van
deze apparatuur verboden zijn. Neem contact op met je (lokale) overheid voor meer
informatie over deze beperkingen.
Volg ten allen tijde de instructies in de handleiding*, speciaal wanneer het apparatuur
betreft wat geassembleerd dient te worden.
Waarschuwing: In de meeste gevallen gaat het om een elektronisch apparaat.
Verkeerd of oneigenlijk gebruik van het apparaat kan leiden tot (zware) verwondingen.

De garantietermijn van vijf jaar geldt voor alle Eminent producten, tenzij anders
aangegeven op het moment van aankoop. Bij aankoop van een tweedehands Eminent
product resteert de garantieperiode gemeten vanaf het moment van de aankoop door
de eerste eigenaar. De Eminent garantieregeling is van toepassing op alle Eminent
producten en onderdelen onlosmakelijk verbonden met het betreffende product.
Voedingen, batterijen, accu’s, antennes en alle andere producten niet geïntegreerd in
of direct verbonden met het hoofdproduct of producten waarvan redelijkerwijs mag
worden aangenomen dat deze een ander slijtagepatroon kennen dan het

hoofdproduct vallen derhalve niet onder de Eminent garantieregeling. De garantie
vervalt tevens bij onjuist of oneigenlijk gebruik, externe invloeden en/of bij opening van

kan gereviseerde materialen gebruiken bij het herstellen of vervangen van uw defecte

2.0 Installation procedure
This is the installation chapter of the wireless USB adapter . Follow the steps below to
properly install the USB adapter.
2.1 Software installation (Microsoft Windows)

Turn on your computer.
Place the supplied installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM or DVD station of your
computer.
The installation wizard will start automatically.
If the installation procedure does not start automatically, you can run ‘Setup.exe’
from the CD-ROM.
Select ‘English’.
Click ‘Next’.
Select ‘Install EM4576-4579’ and click ‘Next’.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, your permission ma be asked.
Grant permission to start the driver installation.
Follow the instructions shown on screen.
The drivers will now be installed. This may take several minutes.
Restart your computer if prompted.
Once the computer has restarted, you can connect the EM4579 to a free USB
port of your computer.
Windows will detect new hardware and will automatically install the drivers.
3.0 Securing your wireless network
To avoid having uninvited guests accessing your wireless network we strongly
recommend securing your wireless network. This security feature (pass-key) needs to
be submitted into your wireless modem or your wireless router. The modem or router
will subsequently send out an encrypted signal, unable to be accessed by third party
guests.
There are a number of methods to secure your network on several levels. Make sure
all wireless network equipment is capable of adopting the method of choice. The latest
and also most effective way of securing your wireless network is WPA (WiFi Protected
Access). Some useful tips for securing your wireless network are discussed below.
Refer to the manual of your wireless router and/or modem to install and activate
wireless security. Write down settings such as: the security method, encryption level
(in Bits), method of submitting (ASCII, Hex etc.), the security key and the key index.
Configure all other wireless equipment within your network with the same settings.

4.0 Connect to a wireless network
Windows 2000 is not equipped with wireless support. That is why the wireless USB
adapter is supplied with special configuration software, suited to your Windows
version. Continue to paragraph 4.1.
Windows XP is equipped with wireless support. We do recommend you to install
Windows XP Service Pack 3 for optimum wireless stability. You can download this
software for free from the following location: ‘www.windowsupdate.com’. This software
update enhances the security possibilities of Windows XP.

A list with available wireless networks will be displayed.
Select your wireless network and click the ‘Add to Profile’ button.
If your network is secured, select the corresponding security type at ‘Network
Authentication’. If you are using WPA of WPA2, make sure you select the correct
‘Data encryption’.
Fill in your security key at ‘Network key’. Confirm your security key at ‘ Confirm
network key’.

4.2 Connecting Windows XP
Windows XP has built-in wireless support. Due to this function, there are two manners
to connect Windows XP wirelessly: Using the ‘Windows wireless configuration’ and
using the Realtek wireless utility. We will explain both manners in the following steps.
4.2.1 Connect using Windows XP’s wireless zero config
1. Click the icon with the red or green bars. This is the Realtek Wireless USB utility.
2. The utility will start. Place a mark at ‘Windows zeroconfig’ and choose ‘Close’.
3. Right click the wireless network icon (in the lower-right corner, next to the clock).
4. Click ‘View available wireless networks’.
5. Windows will show a list of available networks.
6. Click the preferred network.
7. Click ‘Connect’.
8. If the preferred wireless network is not secured and you are using Service Pack
1, you need to check ‘Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even
though it is not secure’.
9. If the preferred wireless network is secured, Windows will ask you to enter the
network key. Fill in your network key and choose ‘Connect’.

10. If you have filled in the network key correctly, Windows will establish a wireless
connection.
11. Congratulations! You have now properly installed the wireless network adapter.
4.2.2 Connect Windows XP using the Realtek Wireless utility
1. Click the icon with the red or green bars. This is the Realtek Wireless USB utility.
2. Click ‘Available Network’.
3. A list with available wireless networks will be displayed.
4. Select your wireless network and click the ‘Add to Profile’ button.
5. If your network is secured, select the corresponding security type at ‘Network

8.0 Warranty conditions
The five-year Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent products, unless mentioned
otherwise before or during the moment of purchase. After buying a second-hand
Eminent product the remaining period of warranty is measured from the moment of
purchase by the product’s initial owner. Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent
products and parts, indissolubly connected or mounted to the product it concerns.
Power supply adapters, batteries, antennas and all other products not directly
integrated in or connected to the main product or products of which, without
reasonable doubt, can be assumed that wear and tear during use will show a different
pattern than the main product, are not covered by the Eminent warranty. Products are
not covered by the Eminent warranty when exposed to incorrect/improper use,
external influences or when opening the service parts of the product by parties other
than Eminent. Eminent may use refurbished materials for repair or replacement of
your defective product. Eminent cannot be held responsible for changes in network
settings by internet providers. We cannot guarantee that the Eminent networking
product will keep working when settings are changed by the internet providers.
Eminent cannot guarantee the working of web services, apps and other third party
content that is available through Eminent products. Eminent products with an internal
hard disk have a limited warranty period of two years on the hard disk. Eminent could
not be held responsible for any data lost. Please make sure that if the product stores
data on a hard drive or other memory source, you will make a copy before you return
the product for repair.

2.0 Procédure d’installation
Ceci est le chapitre concernant l'installation de l'adaptateur USB sans fil. Suivez les
étapes ci-dessous pour installer correctement l'adapteur USB.
2.1 Installation du logiciel (Microsoft Windows)

Allumez votre ordinateur.
Placez le CD-ROM d’installation (fourni) dans le lecteur de CD-ROM ou de DVD
de votre ordinateur.
L’assistant d'installation va démarrer automatiquement.
Si la procédure d'installation ne démarre pas automatiquement, vous pouvez
lancer le programme Setup.exe depuis le CD-ROM.
Sélectionnez « Français ».
Cliquez sur « Suivant ».
Sélectionnez « ‘Installer EM4576-EM4579 » puis cliquez sur « Suivant ».
Si vous utilisez Windows Vista ou Windows 7, votre permission sera peut-être
demandée. Donnez l'autorisation pour démarrer l'installation du pilote.
Suivez les instructions affichées à l'écran.
Les pilotes vont maintenant être installés. Cela peut prendre plusieurs minutes.
Redémarrez votre ordinateur si vous y êtes invité.
Lorsque l'ordinateur aura redémarré, vous pouvez connecter l'EM4579 à un port
USB libre de votre ordinateur.
Windows détectera le nouveau matériel et installera automatiquement les pilotes.
3.0 Sécurisation de votre réseau sans fil
Afin d'éviter que des personnes non invitées accèdent à votre réseau sans fil, nous
vous recommandons fortement de sécuriser celui-ci. Ces fonctionnalité de sécurité
(passe) doit être soumise dans votre modem sans fil ou routeur sans fil. Le modem ou
routeur va par la suite envoyer un signal crypté, inaccessible aux tiers.
Il existe un certain nombre de méthodes pour sécuriser votre réseau à plusieurs
niveaux. Assurez-vous que tous les équipements réseau sans fil sont capables
d'adopter la méthode choisie. La dernière façon, et aussi la plus efficace, de sécuriser
votre réseau sans fil est le WPA (WiFi Protected Access). Certaines astuces utiles
pour sécuriser votre réseau sans fil sont évoquées plus bas.
Reportez-vous au manuel de votre routeur sans fil et/ou modem sans fil pour installer
et activer la sécurité sans fil. Écrivez les paramètres tels que : la méthode de sécurité,
le niveau de cryptage (en bits), la méthode de soumission (ASCII, Hex, etc.), la clé de
sécurité et l'indice de clé. Configurez tous les périphériques sans fil sur votre réseau
avec les mêmes paramètres.

4.0 Connexion à un réseau sans fil
Windows 2000 n'est pas équipé pour prendre en charge la fonctionnalité sans fil. C'est
la raison pour laquelle l'adaptateur USB sans fil est fourni avec un logiciel de
configuration spécial, adapté à votre version de Windows. Passer au paragraphe 4.1.
Windows XP est équipé pour prendre en charge la fonctionnalité sans fil. Nous vous
recommandons d'installer Windows XP Service Pack 3 pour une stabilité optimale de
la fonctionnalité sans fil. Vous pouvez télécharger ce logiciel gratuitement à partir du
site suivant : ‘www.windowsupdate.com’. Cette mise à jour logicielle renforce les
possibilités de sécurité de Windows XP.

Cliquez sur l'icône avec les barres rouges et vertes. Il s'agit de l'utilitaire Realtek
Wireless USB.
Cliquez sur « Réseaux disponibles ».
Une liste avec tous les réseaux sans fil disponibles s’affichera.
Sélectionnez votre réseau sans fil et cliquez sur le bouton « Ajouter au profil ».
Si votre réseau est sécurisé, sélectionnez le type de sécurité correspondant dans
« Authentification réseau ». Si vous utilisez WPA ou WPA2, assurez-vous de
sélectionnez le cryptage de données correct.
Saisissez votre clé de sécurité dans « Clé réseau ». Saisissez à nouveau votre
clé de sécurité dans « Confirmer clé réseau ».
Cliquez sur « OK ».
Si vous saisi correctement les paramètres réseau et la clé réseau, vous verrez
s'afficher les données suivantes : Puissance du signal et Qualité de la liaison Par
ailleurs, l'adresse IP, le masque de sous-réseau et la passerelle seront
renseignés, ces valeurs correspondent aux données de votre réseau.
4.2 Connexion avec Windows XP
Windows XP dispose de la prise en charge du sans fil intégrée. Du fait de cette
fonction, il y a deux manières de connecter Windows XP sans fil : En utilisant la
configuration sans fil Windows et en utilisant l'utilitaire sans fil Realtek. Nous allons
expliquer les deux méthodes en détails dans les sections suivantes.
4.2.1 Connexion en utilisant la configuration zéro sans fil de Windows XP
1. Cliquez sur l'icône avec les barres rouges et vertes. Il s'agit de l'utilitaire Realtek
Wireless USB.
2. L'utilitaire va démarrer. Placez une marque en face de Windows zeroconfig et
choisissez « Fermer ».
3. Faites un clic droit sur l'icône de réseau sans fil (dans le coin inférieur droit, près
de l'horloge).
4. Cliquez sur « Afficher tous les réseaux sans fil disponibles ».
5. Windows affichera une liste des réseaux disponibles.

Cliquez sur le réseau de votre choix.
Cliquez sur « Connecter ».
Si le réseau sans fil choisi n'est pas sécurisé et que vous utilisez le Service Pack
1, vous devez cocher « Me permettre de me connecter au réseau sans fil
sélection, bien qu'il ne soit pas sécurisé ».
9. Si le réseau sans fil choisi est sécurisé, Windows vous demandera de saisir la
clé réseau. Saisissez votre clé réseau puis choisissez « Connecter ».
10. Si vous avez correctement saisi la clé réseau, Windows établira une connexion
sans fil.
11. Félicitations! Vous avez à présent installé correctement l'adaptateur de réseau
sans fil.
4.2.2 Connecter Windows XP en utilisant l'utilitaire Realtek Wireless
1. Cliquez sur l'icône avec les barres rouges et vertes. Il s'agit de l'utilitaire Realtek
Wireless USB.
2. Cliquez sur « Réseaux disponibles ».
3. Une liste avec tous les réseaux sans fil disponibles s’affichera.
4. Sélectionnez votre réseau sans fil et cliquez sur le bouton « Ajouter au profil ».
5. Si votre réseau est sécurisé, sélectionnez le type de sécurité correspondant dans
« Authentification réseau ». Si vous utilisez WPA ou WPA2, assurez-vous de
sélectionnez le cryptage de données correct.
6. Saisissez votre clé de sécurité dans « Clé réseau ». Saisissez à nouveau votre

produits non intégrés directement au produit principal, ou non connectés directement

pas couverts par la garantie Eminent lorsqu’ils ont été soumis à une mauvaise

2.0 Procedimiento de instalación
Este es el capítulo de instalación del adaptador USB inalámbrico. Siga los pasos que
se indican a continuación para instalar correctamente el adaptador USB.
2.1 Instalar el software (Microsoft Windows)
Encienda el equipo.
Coloque el CD-ROM de instalación suministrado en la unidad de CD-ROM o DVD de
su PC.
El asistente para la instalación se iniciará automáticamente.
Si el procedimiento de instalación no se inicia automáticamente, puede ejecutar el
archivo ‘Setup.exe’ desde el CD-ROM.
Seleccione ‘Español’.
Haga clic en ‘Next’ (Siguiente).
Seleccione ‘Instalar EM4576-4578’ y haga clic en ‘Siguiente’.
Si utiliza Windows Vista o Windows 7, se le puede pedir el permiso correspondiente.
Conceda el permiso para iniciar la instalación de los controladores.
Siga las instrucciones de la pantalla.
Los controladores se instalarán. Esta operación puede tardar varios minutos.
Reinicie el equipo si se le pide.
Una vez reiniciado el equipo, puede conectar el adaptador EM4579 a un puerto USB
disponible del equipo.
Windows detectará el nuevo hardware e instalará los controladores automáticamente.
3.0 Proteger su red inalámbrica
A fin de impedir que puedan acceder a su red inalámbrica invitados sin autorización,
se recomienda encarecidamente proteger la red. Es necesario enviar esta función de
seguridad (clave) a su módem o enrutador inalámbrico. A su vez, el módem o
enrutador enviará una señal cifrada a la que no podrán acceder aquellos invitados
que no estén autorizados.
Existen varios métodos para proteger la red a diferentes niveles. Asegúrese de que
todos los equipos que forman parte de la red inalámbrica sean capaces de adoptar el
método elegido. La forma más moderna y eficaz de proteger la red inalámbrica es
mediante acceso protegido WiFi (WPA, WiFi Protected Access). A continuación se
mencionan algunas sugerencias útiles para proteger la red inalámbrica.
Consulte el manual del enrutador y el módem inalámbricos para instalar y activar la
seguridad inalámbrica. Anote la siguiente configuración: método de seguridad, nivel
de cifrado (en bits), método de envío (ASCII, hexadecimal, etc.), clave de seguridad e
índice de clave. Aplique la misma configuración en el resto de equipos inalámbricos

4.0 Establecer una conexión a una red
inalámbrica
Windows 2000 no tiene funciones inalámbricas. Por este motivo, el adaptador USB
inalámbrico se suministra con un software de configuración especial, adecuado para
la versión de Windows. Pase al párrafo 4.1.
Windows XP tiene funciones inalámbricas. Se recomienda instalar Windows XP
Service Pack 3 para conseguir una estabilidad óptima. Puede descargar el software
necesario de forma gratuita desde el sitio web ‘www.windowsupdate.com’. Esta
actualización de software mejora la seguridad de Windows XP.
4.1 Establecer una conexión utilizando Windows 2000
Haga clic en el icono con las barras rojas y verdes. Se trata de la utilidad USB
inalámbrica de Realtek.
Haga clic en ‘Redes disponibles’.
Aparecerá una lista con las redes inalámbricas disponibles.
Seleccione la red inalámbrica y haga clic en el botón ‘Agregar a perfil’.
Si la red es segura, seleccione el tipo de seguridad correspondiente en ‘Autenticación
de red’. Si utiliza WPA de WPA2, asegúrese de seleccionar la opción correcta en
‘Cifrado de datos’.
Rellene la clave de seguridad en ‘Clave de red’. Confirme la clave de seguridad en
‘Confirmar clave de red’.
Haga clic en ‘Aceptar’.
Si ha rellenado la configuración y la clave de la red correctamente, aparecerán los
siguientes datos en la pantalla: intensidad de señal y calidad del enlace. Asimismo, se
rellenarán una dirección IP, una máscara de subred y una puerta de enlace, que se
corresponderán con los datos de la red.
4.2 Establecer una conexión utilizando Windows XP
Windows XP tiene compatibilidad inalámbrica integrada. Gracias a esta función,
puede conectarse de forma inalámbrica de dos maneras diferentes utilizando
Windows XP: mediante la ‘configuración inalámbrica de Windows’ y mediante la
utilidad inalámbrica de Realtek. Explicaremos ambos métodos en los pasos
siguientes.
4.2.1 Establecer conexión mediante la configuración inalámbrica rápida de
Windows XP
La utilidad se iniciará. Active la opción ‘Configuración rápida de Windows’ y elija
‘Cerrar’.

Haga clic con el botón secundario en el icono de red inalámbrica (situado en la
esquina inferior derecha, junto al reloj).
Haga clic en ‘Ver redes inalámbricas disponibles’.
Windows mostrará una lista de redes disponibles.
Haga clic en la red que prefiera.
Haga clic en ‘Conectar’.
Si la red inalámbrica preferida no es segura y usa el Service Pack 1, tendrá que
activar la opción ‘Permitir que me conecte a la red inalámbrica seleccionada aunque
no sea segura’.
Si la red inalámbrica preferida está protegida, Windows le pedirá que introduzca la
clave de red correspondiente. Introduzca la clave de red y elija ‘Conectar’.
Si ha rellenado la clave de red correctamente, Windows establecerá una conexión
inalámbrica.

4.2.2 Establecer conexión con Windows XP mediante la utilidad inalámbrica de
Realtek
Haga clic en ‘Redes disponibles’.
Aparecerá una lista con las redes inalámbricas disponibles.

2.0 Procedimento de instalação
Este é o capítulo relativo à instalação do adaptador USB. Siga os passos indicados
abaixo para instalar o adaptador USB.

Ligue o computador.
Coloque o CD-ROM de instalação fornecido na unidade de CD-ROM ou DVD
do seu computador.
O assistente de instalação iniciará automaticamente.
Se o processo de instalação não iniciar automaticamente, poderá executar o
ficheiro "Setup.exe" a partir do CD-ROM.
Selecione "Português".
Clique em "Seguinte".
Selecione "Instalar EM4576-4579" e clique em "Seguinte".
Se estiver a utilizar o Windows Vista ou o Windows 7, poderá ser-lhe solicitada
autorização. Conceda autorização para iniciar a instalação dos controladores.
Siga as instruções apresentadas no ecrã.
Os controladores serão instalados. Isto pode demorar vários minutos.
Reinicie o computador quando lhe for solicitado.
Após o reinício do computador, poderá ligar o adaptador EM4579 a uma porta
USB disponível no seu computador.
O Windows detetará o novo hardware e instalará automaticamente os
controladores.
3.0 Proteger a sua rede sem fios
Para evitar que a sua rede sem fios seja acedida por utilizadores indesejados,
recomendamos vivamente que a proteja. Esta funcionalidade de segurança (chave de
acesso) precisa de ser introduzida no seu modem sem fios ou router sem fios. O
modem ou o router irá subsequentemente enviar um sinal encriptado, que não poderá
ser acedido por terceiros.
Existem vários métodos para proteger a sua rede em vários níveis. Certifique-se de
que todos os equipamentos sem fios são capazes de adotar o método escolhido. A
forma mais recente e mais eficaz para proteger a sua rede sem fios é através do
método WPA (WiFi Protected Access). Em seguida são apresentadas algumas
sugestões úteis para proteger a sua rede sem fios.
Consulte o manual do seu router sem fios e/ou modem para instalar e ativar a
segurança sem fios. Anote as definições, tais como: o método de segurança, nível de
encriptação (em Bits), método de submissão (ASCII, Hex etc.), a chave de segurança
e o índice de chaves.
Configure todos os equipamentos sem fios da sua rede com as mesmas definições.

4.0 Ligar a uma rede sem fios
O Windows 2000 não está equipado com suporte para rede sem fios. É por esse
motivo que o adaptador USB sem fios é fornecido com um software de configuração
especial, adequado para a sua versão do Windows. Continue para o parágrafo 4.1.
O Windows XP está equipado com suporte para rede sem fios. Para uma estabilidade
ideal da ligação sem fios, recomendamos que instale o Windows XP Service Pack 3.
Pode transferir este software gratuitamente a partir da seguinte localização:
"www.windowsupdate.com". Esta atualização de software aumenta as possibilidades
de segurança do Windows XP.

O Windows XP possui suporte para rede sem fios. Devido a esta função, existem
duas formas de ligar a uma rede sem fios no Windows XP: Através da "Configuração
sem fios do Windows" e do utilitário sem fios da Realtek. Explicaremos ambas as
formas nos passos seguintes.
4.2.1 Ligar com a configuração zero sem fios do Windows XP

Se a rede sem fios estiver protegida, o Windows irá pedir-lhe para introduzir a
chave de rede. Introduza a sua chave de rede e escolha "Ligar".
Se a chave de rede estiver correta, o Windows irá estabelecer a ligação sem
fios.

2.0 Procedura di installazione
Questo capitolo è dedicato all’installazione della scheda di rete wireless USB. Seguire
le istruzioni in basso per installare l’adattatore USB in modo corretto.
2.1 Installazione del software (Microsoft Windows)

Accendere il computer.
Inserire il CD-ROM d’installazione fornito in dotazione nell'unità CD-ROM o DVD
del computer.
La procedura dell'installazione guidata si avvierà automaticamente.
Se la procedura d’installazione non si avvia automaticamente, eseguire il file
“Setup.exe” dal CD-ROM.
Selezionare “Italiano”.
Fare clic su “Avanti”.
Selezionare “Installa EM4576-4578” e fare clic su “Avanti”.
Se si usa Windows Vista o Windows 7, potrebbe essere richiesto di confermare
l’operazione. Confermare l’operazione per avviare l’installazione del driver.
Seguire le istruzioni su schermo.
I driver saranno installati. Questa procedura può impiegare diversi minuti.
Riavviare il computer, se richiesto.
Dopo che il computer si è riavviato, si può collegare la scheda di rete wireless
USB EM4579ad una porta USB libera del computer.
Windows rileverà il nuovo hardware ed installerà automaticamente i driver
necessari.
3.0 Rendere sicura la propria rete wireless
Per evitare ospiti indesiderati nella propria rete wireless, consigliamo fortemente
renderla sicura. La funzione di sicurezza (chiave di accesso) deve essere inserita nel
proprio modem o router wireless. Il modem o router invieranno in seguito un segnale
criptato che non potrà essere acceduto da ospiti terzi.
Ci sono diversi metodi per proteggere la rete su diversi livelli. Accertarsi che gli
apparecchi che compongono la rete wireless siano in grado di adottare il metodo
prescelto. Il metodo più recente ed efficace per proteggere la rete wireless è WPA
(WiFi Protected Access). In seguito sono illustrati alcuni suggerimenti utili per
proteggere la rete wireless.
Fare riferimento al manuale del proprio router e/o modem wireless per installare e
attivare la sicurezza wireless. Annotare le impostazioni come: metodo di sicurezza,
livello di criptazione (in bit), metodo di invio (ASCII, Hex, ecc.), la chiave di sicurezza e
l'indice della chiave. Configurare tutti gli altri apparecchi wireless della rete con le
stesse impostazioni.

4.0 Connessione a una rete wireless
Windows 2000 non è dotato di supporto wireless. Per questo motivo la scheda di rete
wireless USB è fornita con uno speciale software di configurazione, adatto per le varie
versioni di Windows. Continuare al paragrafo 4.1.
Windows XP è dotato di supporto wireless. Si raccomanda di installare Windows XP
Service Pack 3 per ottenere la stabilità wireless ottimale. Il software può essere
scaricato gratuitamente dal sito: “www.windowsupdate.com”. Questo aggiornamento
software migliora le capacità di protezione di Windows XP.

Fare clic sull’icona con le barre rosse o verdi. Questa è l’utilità Realtek Wireless
USB.
Fare clic su “Reti disponibili”.
Sarà visualizzato un elenco delle reti wireless disponibili.
Selezionare la rete wireless e fare clic sul tasto “Aggiungi a profilo”.
Se la rete è protetta, selezionare il corrispondente tipo di protezione su
“Autenticazione rete”. Se si usa la protezione WPA o WPA2, assicurarsi di
selezionare la voce corretta per “Codifica dei dati”.
Inserire la chiave di protezione nel campo “Chiave di rete”. Confermare la chiave
di protezione nel campo “Conferma chiave di rete”.
Fare clic su “OK”.
Se le impostazioni e la chiave di rete sono state inserite in modo corretto, sullo
schermo si vedranno i seguenti dati: Potenza del segnale e qualità del
collegamento. Inoltre, saranno completati i campi indirizzo IP, Subnet Mask e
Gateway, i cui dati corrispondono a quelli della rete.
4.2 Collegamento su Windows XP
Windows XP è dotato di supporto wireless integrato. Grazie a questa funzione, ci sono
due modi per eseguire il collegamento wireless su Windows XP: Usando la
“configurazione wireless di Windows” ed usando l’utilità wireless Realtek. Di seguito
spiegheremo entrambi i modi.
4.2.1 Collegamento usando Wireless Zero Configuration di Windows XP
1. Fare clic sull’icona con le barre rosse o verdi. Questa è l’utilità Realtek Wireless
USB.
2. L’utilità si avvia. Selezionare “Windows Zero Configuration” e scegliere “Chiudi”.
3. Fare clic col tasto destro del mouse sull’icona di rete (nell’angolo in basso a
destra, vicino all’orologio).
4. Fare clic su “Visualizza reti senza fili disponibili”.
5. Windows mostrerà un elenco di reti disponibili.
6. Fare clic sulla rete preferita.
7. Fare clic su “Connetti”.

Se la rete preferita non è protetta e si sta usando il Service Pack 1, è necessario
selezionare la voce “Consenti la connessione alla rete senza fili selezionata,
anche se non protetta”.
9. Se la rete wireless preferita è protetta, Windows chiederà di inserire la chiave di
rete. Inserire la chiave di rete e scegliere “Connetti”.
10. Se la chiave di rete inserita è corretta, Windows stabilirà la connessione wireless.
11. Congratulazioni! Adesso la scheda di rete wireless è istallata in modo
appropriato.
4.2.2 Collegamento su Windows XP usando l’utilità Realtek Wireless
1. Fare clic sull’icona con le barre rosse o verdi. Questa è l’utilità Realtek Wireless
USB.
2. Fare clic su “Reti disponibili”.
3. Sarà visualizzato un elenco delle reti wireless disponibili.
4. Selezionare la rete wireless e fare clic sul tasto “Aggiungi a profilo”.
5. Se la rete è protetta, selezionare il corrispondente tipo di protezione su

2.0 Installation
In diesem Kapitel geht es um die Installation Ihres neuen USB-Adapters. Mit den
nachstehenden Schritten können Sie Ihren USB-Adapter schnell und sicher
installieren.
2.1 Softwareinstallation (Microsoft Windows)

Schalten Sie Ihren Computer ein.
Legen Sie die mitgelieferte Installations-CD in das CD- oder DVD-Laufwerk Ihres
Computers ein.
Der Installationsassistent startet automatisch.
Falls die Installation nicht automatisch starten sollte, führen Sie bitte die Datei
„Setup.exe“ auf der CD manuell aus.
Wählen Sie „Deutsch“.
Klicken Sie auf „Weiter“.
Wählen Sie „EM4576-4578 installieren“, klicken Sie anschließend auf „Weiter“.
Sofern Sie Windows Vista oder Windows 7 verwenden, werden Sie nach Ihrer
Zustimmung gefragt. Stimmen Sie der Treiberinstallation zu.
Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.
Die Treiber werden nun installiert. Dies kann ein paar Minuten dauern.
Starten Sie Ihren Computer neu, wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden.
Nach dem Neustart des Computers können Sie den EM4579 an einen freien
USB-Port Ihres Computers anschließen.
Windows erkennt die neue Hardware automatisch und installiert die nötigen
Treiber selbstständig.
3.0 Drahtlosnetzwerk (WLAN) absichern
Damit sich keine ungebetenen Besucher in Ihrem Netzwerk tummeln können, sollten
Sie Ihr WLAN-Netzwerk unbedingt absichern. Dazu müssen Sie ein Kennwort in Ihr
WLAN-Modem oder den WLAN-Router eingeben. Modem oder Router senden in
bestimmten Abständen ein verschlüsseltes Signal aus, das nicht von unerwünschten
Gästen ausgewertet werden kann.
Sie können Ihr WLAN-Netzwerk auf verschiedene Weisen absichern. Dabei müssen
Sie jedoch darauf achten, dass sämtliche Netzwerkgeräte dieselben
Sicherungsverfahren unterstützen. Die aktuellste und gleichzeitig effektivste Lösung
zur Absicherung Ihres Drahtlosnetzwerks nennt sich WPA (WiFi Protected Access).
Nachstehend finden Sie einige nützliche Tipps zur Absicherung Ihres Netzwerkes.
Lesen Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung Ihres WLAN-Routers oder -Modems nach,
informieren Sie sich darüber, wie die Sicherungseinstellungen funktionieren. Notieren
Sie sich die Einstellungen; beispielsweise: Sicherungsmethode
(Verschlüsselungsverfahren), Verschlüsselungsstufe (in Bits), Eingabeverfahren

(ASCII, Hexadezimal), Netzwerkschlüssel (das eigentliche Kennwort) und
Schlüsselindex.
Achten Sie darauf, dass sämtliche Netzwerkgeräte im WLAN mit denselben
Einstellungen konfiguriert werden.
4.0 Mit einem WLAN-Netzwerk verbinden
In Windows 2000 fehlt eine integrierte WLAN-Unterstützung. Daher wird Ihr WLANUSB-Adapter mit einer speziellen Konfigurationssoftware für Ihre Windows-Version
geliefert. Lesen Sie bitte in Abschnitt 4.1 weiter.
Windows XP ist bereits von Haus aus mit den nötigen WLAN-Treibern ausgestattet.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, das Windows XP Service Pack 3 zur Verbesserung der WLANStabilität zu installieren. Diese Software können Sie kostenlos über folgende
Internetadresse herunterladen: www.windowsupdate.com. Diese

Wenn die Netzwerkeinstellungen und der Netzwerkschlüssel korrekt eingegeben
wurden, wird Folgendes auf dem Bildschirm angezeigt: Signalstärke und
Verbindungsqualität. Zusätzlich werden IP-Adresse, Subnetzmaske und Gateway
Ihres Netzwerks eingetragen.
4.2 Verbinden unter Windows XP
In Windows XP sind die nötigen Treiber für WLAN-Netzwerke bereits integriert. Aus
diesem Grunde können WLAN-Verbindungen unter Windows auf zwei Weisen
hergestellt werden: Mit der Windows-internen, konfigurationsfreien Verbindung („Zero
Configuration“) oder über das Realtek-WLAN-Dienstprogramm. In den folgenden
Schritten finden Sie Erläuterungen zu beiden Verfahren.

4.2.1 Verbinden per Windows XP-Konfiguration

Pack 1 arbeiten, müssen Sie durch Auswahl bestätigen, dass Sie sich mit dem
ausgewählten WLAN-Netzwerk verbinden möchten, obwohl dies nicht
abgesichert ist.
9. Sofern das Netzwerk Ihrer Wahl abgesichert ist, werden Sie zur Eingabe des
Netzwerkschlüssels aufgefordert. Geben Sie den Netzwerkschlüssel (das
Netzwerkkennwort) ein, klicken Sie anschließend auf „Verbinden“.
10. Wenn der Netzwerkschlüssel richtig eingegeben wurde, baut Windows nun eine
WLAN-Verbindung auf.
11. Glückwunsch! Ihr Drahtlosnetzwerkadapter ist nun korrekt installiert.

2.0 Telepítés
Ez a vezeték nélküli USB adapter telepítését magyarázó fejezet. Az USB-adapter
helyes telepítéséhez kövesse az alábbi lépéseket.

Kapcsolja be a számítógépet.
Helyezze a mellékelt telepítő CD-ROM-ot a számítógép CD-ROM vagy DVDmeghajtójába.
A Telepítő Varázsló automatikus elindul.
Ha a telepítő nem indul el automatikusan, akkor a CD-ROM-on lévő „Setup.exe”
fájlra történő kattintással manuálisan elindíthatja.
Válassza az „Angol” lehetőséget.
Kattintson a „Tovább” gombra.
Válassza az „EM4576-4579 telepítése” lehetőséget, majd kattintson a „Tovább”
gombra.
Ha Windows Vista vagy Windows 7 rendszert használ, a folytatáshoz engedély
megadására lehet szükség. Engedélyezze az illesztőprogram telepítésének
indítását.
Kövesse a képernyőn megjelenő utasításokat.
Megtörténik az illesztőprogramok telepítése. Ez több percet vehet igénybe.
Indítsa újra a számítógépet, ha a rendszer kéri.
Amint újraindult a számítógép, az EM4579 eszközt a számítógép egyik szabad
USB-csatlakozójához csatlakoztathatja.
A Windows érzékeli az új hardver jelenlétét, és automatikusan telepíti az
illesztőprogramokat.
3.0 A vezeték nélküli hálózat biztonságossá
tétele
Annak érdekében, hogy megelőzze vezeték nélküli hálózata váratlan vendégek általi
használatát, nyomatékosan javasoljuk a vezeték nélküli hálózat biztonságossá tételét.
Ezt a biztonsági funkciót (kulcs) be kell tölteni a vezeték nélküli modembe vagy
vezeték nélküli routerbe. A modem vagy router ezután titkosított jelet küld ki, amelyet
harmadik felek nem tudnak elérni.
Hálózata különféle szinten történő biztonságossá tételéhez számos módszer létezik.
Győződjön meg arról, hogy valamennyi vezeték nélküli eszköz képes alkalmazni a
kívánt módszert. A legkorszerűbb és egyben leghatékonyabb mód vezeték nélküli
hálózatának biztonságossá tételéhez a WPA (WiFi Protected Access). Az alábbiakban
vezeték nélküli hálózatának biztonságossá tételéhez említünk néhány hasznos tippet.
A vezeték nélküli biztonság telepítését és aktiválását illetően tekintse meg vezeték
nélküli routere és/vagy modeme kézikönyvét. Írja le a beállításokat, mint pl.: a

biztonségi módszer, titkosítás szintje (bitek száma), megadás módja (ASCII, Hex stb.),
a biztonségi kulcs és a kulcs index.
A hálózata összes vezeték nélküli eszközét egyforma beállításokkal konfigurálja.
4.0 Csatlakozás vezeték nélküli hálózathoz
A Windows 2000 nem rendelkezik vezeték nélküli támogatással. Ezért jár a vezeték
nélküli USB-adapterhez különleges konfiguráló szoftver, amely megfelel Windows
verziójának. Folytassa az 4.1 bekezdéssel.
A Windows XP rendelkezik vezeték nélküli támogatással. Javasoljuk a Windows XP
Service Pack 3 telepítését a vezeték nélküli funkció optimális stabilitásához. A
szoftvert a következő oldalról töltheti le ingyenesen: „www.windowsupdate.com”. Ez a
szoftverfrisítés javítja a Windows XP vezeték nélküli biztonságát.

Katitntson az „Elérhető hálózat” elemre.
Megjelenik az elérhető vezeték nélküli hálózatok listája.
Válassza ki a vezeték nélküli hálózatot, majd kattintson a „Profilhoz adás”
gombra.
Ha hálózata biztonságos, válassza a megfelelő biztonsági módot a „Hálózati
hitelesítés” elem alatt. Ha WPA vagy WPA2 módot használ, győződjön meg arról,
hogy a helyes „Adattitkosítás” elemet választotta.
Töltse ki a biztonsági kulcsot a „Hálózati kulcs” mezőben. Erősítse meg a
biztonsági kulcs megadását a „Hálózati kulcs megerősítése” elem alatt.
Kattintson az „OK” gombra.
Ha helyesen töltötte ki a biztonsági beállításokat és a hálózati kulcsot, akkor
megjelenik egy ablak, amely tartalmazza az aktuális hálózati beállítások
összefoglaló adatait: Jel erőssége és Jel minősége. Ezenkívül megjelenik kitöltve
a IP-cím, Alhálózati maszk és Átjáró mező, amelyeknek meg kell felelniük az Ön
hálózati beállításainak.
4.2 Csatlakozás Windows XP használatával
A Windows XP rendelkezik beépített vezeték nélküli támogatással. E funkciójának
köszönhetően kétféleképpen lehet a Windows XP-hez vezeték nélkül csatlakozni: a
„Windows vezeték nélküli konfiguráció” és a Realtek vezeték nélküli segédprogram
segítségével. A két módszer magyarázata a következő részekben található.

4.2.1 Csatlakozás a Windows XP vezeték nélküli zéró konfigurációja
használatával
1. Kattintson a vörös vagy zöld sávokat tartalmazó ikonra. Ez a Realtek vezeték
2. Elindul a segédprogram. Jelölje meg a „Windows zéró konfig.” elem
jelölőnégyzetét és válassza a „Bezárás” elemet.
3. Jobb gombbal kattintson a vezeték nélküli hálózat ikonra (a jobb alsó sarokban,
az óra mellett).
4. Kattintson az „Elérhető vezeték nélküli hálózatok megtekintése” elemre.
5. A Windows megjeleníti az elérhető hálózatokat.
6. Kattintson a kívánt hálózatra.
7. Kattintson a „Csatlakozás” elemre.
8. Ha a kívánt hálózat nem biztonságos és Service Pack 1-et használ, meg kell
jelölnie a „Csatlakozás a kiválasztott vezeték nélküli hálózathoz akkor is, ha az
nem biztonságos” jelölőnégyzetet.
9. Ha a kívánt hálózat biztonságos, a Windows a hálózati kulcs megadására fogja
kérni. Gépelje be a hálózati kulcsot, majd kattintson a „Csatlakozás” gombra.
10. Ha a hálózati kulcsot helyesen adta meg, a Windows létrehozza a vezeték nélküli
kapcsolatot.
11. Gratulálunk! Sikeresen telepítette a vezeték nélküli hálózati adaptert.
4.2.2 Csatlakozás Windows XP alatt a Realtek vezeték nélküli segédprogram
használatával
1. Kattintson a vörös vagy zöld sávokat tartalmazó ikonra. Ez a Realtek vezeték

3. Megjelenik az elérhető vezeték nélküli hálózatok listája.

Az Eminent öt éves garanciája valamennyi Eminent termékre érvényes, a vásárlás
előtt vagy alatt említett kivételekkel. Ha használt Eminent terméket vásárolt, a
garancia fennmaradó időtartama a termék első vásárlója általi vásárlás időpontjától
számítandó. Az Eminent garanciája valamennyi Eminent termékre, illetve a termékre
nem bontható módon csatlakoztatott és/vagy szerelt alkatrészekre érvényes. Az
Eminent garanciája nem érvényes a hálózati tápegységekre, akkumulátorokra,
antennákra és az egyéb termékekre, amelyek nincsenek egybeépítve a főtermékkel
vagy közvetlenül csatlakoztatva hozzá és/vagy azon termékekre, amelyekről minden
kétséget kizáróan feltételezhető, hogy a főtermék rendes elhasználódásától eltérő
