Parish Directory
Greetings,
PARISH OFFICE 763-421-2471
Next week we gather together as a church to celebrate the birthday of the Church in the world.
On this day, Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles and literally shook things up.
Wouldn’t it have been interesting if the Apostles
were split up conservatives vs. liberals? Nothing
would have happened. But they did have their
conflicts on how to spread and who to spread the Good News of Jesus
Christ. It was the presence of Holy Spirit that gave them the courage
to witness Jesus to those who were ready to believe. It was the presence of the Holy Spirit that gave these people counsel, fortitude, and
knowledge of how God works in their lives. It was the Holy Spirit that
gave those in the upper room the gift of piety so they could pray and
listen to the will of God. It was the Holy Spirit that gave the new formed
Church the proper respect and reverence for our God. Those same gifts
are open to all of us.
This Monday our tenth and eleventh graders will receive the Holy
Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Congratulations to all of
you! That same challenge given to all those who were present at that
first Pentecost is there for you as well. Go out and witness to how God
is working in your life. Go out and witness how God loves you and all
people. If you still struggle with that, then I would encourage you to
feast on the bread of life - the Eucharist - week after week. This will give
you the spiritual energy to live in Christ and proclaim him as well.
Next week we would like to encourage you all to be part of the environment here at Church. If you remember, please wear red. It is
always great seeing a splash of red throughout the church. Show one
another how Spirit filled we are as we gather to celebrate Pentecost and
as we celebrate going out and proclaiming Jesus Christ.
Peace, Father Jack

The Ascension of the Lord
Bernie Leach
Prayers and readings during the Mass on this day emphasize both the
return of Christ to heaven, and his abiding presence in the community.
This feast is not just about Jesus returning to heaven, it is also about the
exaltation of the human race – all of us - who hope to follow him here on
earth and into heaven too.
Blessed be you, risen Lord, who ascended into heaven
to prepare a place for us,
but who nevertheless continues to live among us.
Be present in our community in the Word that you give to us
and in the bread that you share with us.
To you glory forever and ever. Amen.

Faith Formation
Congratulations to
Our Confirmation
Candidates!
Congratulations to the young
women and men who will celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation Monday, May 9 at
the Cathedral of St. Paul. Our
parish prays for these young
men and women to be bold
followers of Jesus Christ.
Women of Wonder to Host End of the Year Social!
Join us this Tuesday, May 10, 9:30-11:00 a.m. in The Refuge. We have
had a wonderful year and would like to celebrate with those women
who have been able to make it to any of our meetings, events, or volunteer opportunities. We also want women to feel comfortable coming to
this meeting even if it is their first, as there are continued opportunities
to be involved throughout the summer.
As usual, all women of all ages and stages are welcome to join us. Childcare is available for your children and grandchildren for $3 per child/$5
per family. Invite a friend! See you this Tuesday!
We would also like to thank
everyone who prayed for
our candidates through the
prayer doves we displayed
during Lent. Some of our
prayer partners have wanted
to send a note of encouragement to the individual they
prayed for. If you would like
to do this, please drop off your
note at the parish office front
desk for Chantell and she will
forward it to the candidate.
Go and Make Disciples
of All Nations
(Mt 28:19)
Join us Sundays, May 15 and 22
at 9:40 a.m. in The Refuge for
presentations by Fr. Joe Kuharski.
Jesus sends each one of us out on
mission to spread our faith with
joy. As Catholics, why is it that
we often shy away from evangelization? Why do we miss out on
opportunities we already have to
evangelize, and how do we look
for new opportunities? In this
series, Fr. Joe will put evangelization in the modern religious context, while providing some basic
training and practical initiatives
to spread the good news of our
Catholic faith.

School
The Works Museum
Mrs. Tiffany McCaffrey
The Kindergarten students went on a field trip to the Works Museum
April 22. The children
had a great time exploring with many hands on
building materials.
A major highlight was
building a kaleidoscope
to take home. Each child's
kaleidoscope has such
unique and beautiful images inside.
We were also blessed to
have an awesome bus
driver (Deacon Peter Bednarczyk) to transport our precious cargo to and
from Edina.

Faith: As a vital part of the parish
community, we educate students in a
Catholic atmosphere enriched by the
Gospel messages of peace and justice.
The spiritual development of students is
the primary goal. The school recognizes
that a person's faith is formed by living
out that faith in community through
prayer, worship, service and study; and
grounded in our Catholic tradition.
Academics: In partnership with their
family, each student is encouraged and
directed to reach his or her potential.
Our academic program emphasizes mastery of the basics, academic excellence,
and a variety of extracurricular activities.
The school prepares students to be fully
equipped for their next level of academic
achievement.
Community: The school seeks to provide
a safe and trusting learning environment
where each student is valued and challenged to grow spiritually, academically,
emotionally, socially, and physically.

No hubiera pasado
nada.

semana- poniendo a Dios primero
