Catholic Communication Campaign Second Collection - May 17, 2015 Stewardship of Treasure FY July 2014 - June 2015 Budgeted Offertory Over/(Under) 04/30 Offertory $15,049 $19,250 ($4,200) YTD Offertory: $788,850 $82,750 ($38,899) As Christian stewards, we receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord. Next week, our parish will take up the Collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign. This collection communicates the Gospel through Catholic social media activities and enriches our faith through podcasts, television, radio, and print media. Half of all proceeds remain in our archdiocese and support local needs, so please be generous in this collection. God’s love for us is the common theme of today’s Scripture passages. His love is manifested through the gift of His Son, Jesus, Who commands us to love one another as He has loved us. Jesus proclaims that there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend. In gratitude for God’s gifts, how are we, as good stewards, returning this love to God and neighbor? PCCW Monthly Meeting Monday, May 18 - 7:00 p.m. Bring us all your plastic bottle caps! Celebrating all women. In the Administrative Hall. Refreshments will be served. Come and bring a friend. Special Collection - May 23-24 There will be a special collection for Catholic Relief Services to assist with the relief efforts in Nepal. CRS has made an initial commitment of $825,000 to relief efforts in Nepal, a figure that is expected to rise as the needs become clearer. The official death toll is over 6,000 – with thousands more injured — but few outlying villages have been reached and widespread destruction, especially in hillside settlements, is feared. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. For the month of May the Parish Council of Catholic Women will be collecting plastic bottle caps. The caps will be recycled to raise money to buy wheelchairs for disabled children. A box will be in the Administrative Hall. FYI the website is www.capsoflove.com. Attention Ministry Leaders! It is time to submit your calendars for the 2015-2016 fiscal year in order to reserve your desired rooms in our facility scheduler. Your meetings are not currently scheduled past June 30, 2015.
