THE ADVENT GIVING TREE
Many needed children are waiting for a toy this Christmas and
their families are unable to provide it. If you wish to donate a
toy select any ornament hanging from the Giving Tree and
return a toy next Sunday at church or drop it at the parish
office on weekdays. Toys will be distributed on December 20th
from 9-11am.

ARBOLITO DE JUGUETES NAVIDEÑOS
Muchos niños estarán esperando su juguete esta navidad y sus
padres tal vez no pueden proveérselo. Haga realidad su sueño
dando usted un juguete. Pase al arbolito de los juguetes y llévese un ornamento que le indica
que juguete conseguir. Entregue el juguete los próximos domingos previos a la navidad en la
iglesia o en la oficina parroquial entre semana. Los juguetes serán distribuidos el
20 de diciembre de 9am a 11am.

When a person is sick, in need of a prayer, or when grief strikes hard in
the friend’s family with the death of a loved one, one of the best way to
offer support and soothe the pain is to enroll that person in the
Perpetual Mass League of the Scalabrinian Missionaries. Stop by the
parish office and ask for a Mass Card. The secretary will further
explain the advantages of such love offering.

SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS
Christmas came early as faculty, parishioners and friends
of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School gathered in the
auditorium on December 8 to hold the annual Christmas
Bazaar. Each table displayed lovely items for purchase and
Home Depot generously donated a tree. The teachers sold
student crafts, for example - 1st grade decorated pine
cones, 3rd grade created cards, Kinder and 7th grade
fashioned holiday necklaces and 8th grade created photo
ornaments. Pictured: Sister Lupita, Sister Remedios,
Mrs. Rodarte, Ms. Marasco. Thank you all for your support.
ASPECTOS DESTACADOS DE LA ESCUELA
Navidad llego temprano al Santo Rosario ya que los feligreses, amigos y facultad de la escuela se
reunieron en el auditorio el día 8 de diciembre para el bazar navideño. Cada una de las mesas
presentó artículos preciosos el cual estuvieron a la venta a bajo costo.
Damos las gracias a Home Depot quien dono generosamente un arbolito navideño el cual se
sorteo ese mismo día.
Los maestros de nuestra escuela parroquial también estuvieron vendiendo artesanías estudiantiles
por ejemplo, el primer grado decoro conos de pino, el tercer grado creo tarjetas navideñas,
y kínder y séptimo grado hicieron collares festivos, el octavo grado decoro marcos de fotografía
con ornamentos navideños.
En la foto se encuentra la Hermana Lupita y Remedios junto a la señora Rodarte y la
Srita. Marasco. Muchas gracias a todos por su apoyo y participación.

Here are some simple guidelines for parents,
guardians, and grandparents to employ to
make sure that children have a safe and happy visit with Santa’s helper: When your child
is with Santa’s helper, consider encouraging
him or her to stand next to Santa or sit on the
floor between his feet rather than sitting on his lap. Let your
child know that it’s okay to tell Santa what he or she wants for
Christmas but that he or she should also tell mom and dad because they are also Santa’s helpers…Secret surprises are special
but no adult should ask a child to keep secrets from the child’s
parents. Make sure that the Santa visit is out in the open—or
make sure that parents, guardians, and grandparents are included in the interaction.

espiritualmente a que sobre lleven sus problemas
personales. En este grupo se tratan temas como
depresión, violencia domestica, ansiedad, etc. Este grupo
se reúne cada segundo jueves del mes de

The Diaconate Formation Office will be
hosting an information meeting for all men who are interested in finding out more about becoming a permanent
deacon in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Members of
the Archdiocesan Diaconate Formation Office will be
present to explain the role of the deacon in the Church, to
explain the Diaconate Formation Program, and to answer
any questions that participants might have. Men must be
between the ages of 30 and 60 years to enter the
formation program. It is important for men who are married to attend with their wives. Their pastors are also
welcome. The next information meeting will be held
on Sunday, January 12, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m., at St. John Chrysostom Parish, 546 E.

Catequesis para adultos
Este programa de catequesis es un proceso de
evangelización para jóvenes y adultos mayores de 18
años de edad que no han recibido sus sacramentos
(bautizo, primera comunión, confirmación).
Está diseñado para todos los que desean conocer la
fe católica y quieren también comprometerse más
profundamente en la comunidad a través de la
evangelización. Para inscribirse, solamente deben
presentarse el Martes, 7 y 14 de enero 2014 en el
salón #12. Las clases comenzaran el día 21 de
enero.
CENTRO DE CONSEJERIA (“Valley Family
Center”) ubicado en San Fernando, bajo la
responsabilidad de las Hermanas de la Caridad. Ofrece
