In today’s gospel, Jesus gives us his notion of “Church.” It is to be a community of reconciliation, forgiveness, faith and prayer in His presence. For a little less than 2,000 years, we have tried (with varying degrees of success) to live up to Jesus’ ideal. Although we are not responsible for the daily operation of the Church, we are responsible to make our brick in the structure of the Church as strong as possible. Using Jesus’ criteria is always a good place to begin. If we focus on how reconciling, forgiving, faithful and prayerful we are, not only will we become holier, the Church will become stronger and, continue the work Jesus asks us to do. $ 9,526.88 Less/menos $ 476.34 tithing (5%) / para diezmo Children Collection / Colecta de los Niños: $ 205.00 Last week’s Collection / Ofrenda de la semana pasada $ 11,087.70 Less/menos $ 554.39 tithing (5%) / para diezmo Children Collection / Colecta de los Niños: $ 184.00 $ 236.50 Earmarked Donation $ 196.50 Angel Fund / $ 15. This weekend will be held at NAZARETH RETREAT CENTER in Boise. NEWS We bet you didn’t know …. Stanton Healthcare’s namesake is Elizabeth Cady Stanton (11/12/1815-10/26/1902) who was an American social activist, abolitionist, and leading figure of the early women's rights movement. Her Declaration of Sentiments, presented at the Seneca Falls Convention held in 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York, is often credited with initiating the first organized women's rights and women's suffrage movements in the United States. Isn’t it ironic that so many of today’s outspoken feminists are “pro-choice?” Abortion is not only a violent act against an innocent unborn child (boy or girl), but also a violent act against the mother’s body, mind and soul. Would you like to help us help women and children of the Magic Valley? Please call Melissa at 734-7472 to see how YOU can help! Our benefit dinner and auction is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th. Call today for details and to reserve your table for you and your friends! Join us for fun, food and entertainment featuring our own Jaime Thietten! Learn what Stanton Healthcare Magic Valley is all about! Every first Friday of the month, Salt & Light Radio will bring you the inspiration and peace of a retreat at Ascension Monastery through our new radio program, First Friday at the Monastery.
