CITY YEAR
All parents are invited to attend our very first Family Hour at Concord this Friday February 26th at 8am at the
Library on the 3rd floor. Join us to learn more about what RULER is and different ways to use it with your
children at home! Snacks and coffee will be served. Look out for month Family hours throughout the rest of the
year brought to you by The Family Engagement Committee!
OUTSIDE ENTRANCE/EXIT DOORS
We need your help to keep our students and school community safe at Concord International School. During school
hours we use the new door bell and buzzer system. The front lobby doors will be open from 9:20-9:45am and the
cafeteria/gym foyer doors will be open from 9:00-9:20am and 3:30-3:50pm. If you have an appointment, need to speak
with the office or pick up/drop off your student between 9:45am – 3:30pm please ring the doorbell located by the lobby
doors. For the safety of our students we ask that between these hours if you are in the building that you do not let
anyone in the doors. Please let the office know if you see any adults or students that don’t have a visitors pass so we
can follow-up. Thank you for helping keep our school community safe!
FAMILY COOKS NIGHT!
All Concord 1st graders and their families are invited to our annual 1st GRADE FAMILY COOKS NIGHT this Thursday, Feb
25th from 5:30 – 7 pm in the cafeteria. The event is free of charge. Join us for a fun night of cooking with kids and eating
healthy, delicious food. 1st grade students should tell their classroom teachers how many people are attending per
family.
DANCE FOR GOOD 2016 CAMPAIGN ZUMBA-THON EVENT!

Thursday March 3rd from 4:30—6 pm, Concord Gymnasium & Cafeteria. This fundraiser supports West Seattle &
Fauntleroy YMCA’s Campaign 2016. Suggested donation fees is of $20.00. Donors choose between two important
causes! Supporting Youth and Family Funds helps our kids learn, grow and thrive by providing scholarship for summer
camps, teen learning centers, youth obesity programs, swim lessons and much more. No registration necessary. This

HEALTH NEWS
It is still Cold, Flu and Lice season. Please encourage your children to wash their hands before and after eating. Wipe
down tables, counter tops and doorknobs regularly. Please remind children to NOT share hats, coats, combs or brushes
with each other. If you are able and willing, please donate tissue boxes, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes. You can
bring your donations to the Concord office.

Todos los padres están invitados a asistir a nuestra primera Hora Familiar en Concord este viernes 26 de febrero a las 8am en la
biblioteca en el tercer piso. ¡Venga a aprender más acerca de que es el “RULER “y las diferentes maneras que puede utilizarlo con
sus niños en casa! Se servirán bocadillos y café. ¡Esté atento en la Hora Familiar mensual durante el resto del año, traído a ustedes
por el Comite de Participación Familiar!
PUERTAS EXTERIORES DE ENTRADA/SALIDA:
Necesitamos de su ayuda para salvaguardar la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y comunidad de la Escuela Concord Internacional.
Durante las horas de clases se estará utilizando el nuevo sistema del timbre para poder acezar a la escuela. Las puertas del vestíbulo
del frente se abrirán de 9:20-9:45am y las puertas del vestíbulo hacia la cafetería /gimnasio estarán abiertas de 9:00-9:20am y de
3:30-3:50pm. Si usted tiene una cita, necesita hablar al personal de la oficina o si necesita dejar o recoger a su estudiante de 9:45am
– 3:30pm favor de tocar el timbre que se encuentra localizado a un lado de las puertas del vestíbulo del frente. Por seguridad a
nuestros estudiantes les pedimos que no deje entrar a nadie durante este horario si es que usted se encuentra en la escuela.
Favor de informar a la oficina si usted viese a cualquier estudiante o adulto que no tenga un pase .para que nosotros podamos
darle seguimiento. ¡Gracias por mantener a nuestra comunidad escolar segura!
¡EVENTO CAMPAÑA 2016 BAILANDO POR UNA CAUSA ZUMBA-THON!
Jueves 3 de marzo de 4:30—6 pm, Gimnasio y Cafetería de Concord. Esta recaudación de fondos apoya la campaña de YMCA de la
West Seattle y Fauntleroy para el año 2016. La donación sugerida es de $20.00. ¡Las personas que donan eligen entre dos causas
importantes! Apoyando al fondo para la Juventud y la Familia, ayudando a nuestros niños a aprender, crecer y desarrollarse al
ofrecer becas para los campamentos de verano, centros de aprendizaje para adolescentes, programas para jóvenes a combatir la
obesidad, clases de natación y mucho más. No necesita inscribirse. Este evento está abierto a la comunidad, así que invite a sus

NOTICIAS SOBRE SALUD:
La temporada de Gripas, Influenza y Piojos continúa. Favor de recomendarle a sus hijo/as que se laven sus manos antes y después de
comer. Limpie sus mesas, mostradores y agarraderas de puertas frecuentemente; además que NO compartan gorras, chamarras,
peines o cepillos con los demás.

Todos los estudiantes de 1 grado y sus familias están invitados a nuestro evento anual de NOCHE COCINANDO CON

LAS FAMILIAS DE 1 GRADO, este Jueves, 25 de Febrero, de 5:30 - 7 pm en la cafetería. Este evento es gratuito.

Únase para una noche de diversión cocinado con los niños y comer saludable y delicioso. Los estudiantes de 1 grado
deberán informar a sus maestros cuántas personas asistiran por familia.
