Welcome to 2016! It’s going to be a great year!
No Microwaves
Please be advised we do not have microwaves for heating
students’ cold lunches. If you choose to send your student with
a cold lunch, please make sure it does not need to be heated
up. Thanks!
Parking Lot
When dropping off and picking up your child please DO NOT
use the horseshoe. The horseshoe, is the entire horseshoe
shaped drive that goes from the entrance to the exit. It is
restricted for school bus and daycare van use only. Please
park in a safe spot. Do not block neighborhood driveways.
Make a plan where to meet your child. Consider where they
will be crossing the street. Set a good example and use the
crosswalks when you cross too. This is especially important on
school party days. DO NOT park in the horseshoe.
Child Care
If you need help with before school or after school child care,
we can provide you with additional resources in the
community. Check in the office.
No Toys at School
Please help us keep your child’s focus on learning! Do not allow
your child to bring toys to school. This includes stuffed animals,
trading cards, and all electronic devices. If a cell phone is
necessary, it must be turned off and kept in backpacks during
the school day. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

More Important News
Attendance
Our daily goal for attendance is 98% or higher. So far we have
achieved our goal 11 out of 80 possible school days. Our Mondays
and Fridays seem to be a challenge. They are our lowest
attendance days. It is important your child is on time and stays at
school all day every day. When students are tardy or leave early it
not only affects our attendance percentage, but important
learning time is missed. Try to schedule appointments outside of
the school day. We begin each day at 8:25. Which means students
must be in class ready to learn AT 8:25. On Mondays, students are
dismissed at 2:15. Tuesdays through Fridays, students are dismissed
at 3:45.
NED Show Assembly
Our NED Show has been rescheduled to March 10 at 2:30. Mrs.
McCall will need Parent volunteers to help with yo-yo sales a few
mornings after the assembly. Please call 348-2310 if you can
volunteer.
Save the Dates!
State testing for 3-5 grades will be April 11-29. Please do not
schedule any appointments on these dates. It is important students
are here to take these tests. They do much better when taking
them with their classmates. We appreciate your support in getting
your child to school on time and keeping them in school the entire
day.
Early Check-Out Change
We ask that you do not check your child out of school after 3:30
Tuesdays – Fridays and after 2:00 on Mondays. The end of the day
is just as important as the rest of the day.
Science Fair
We asked before break that all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders participate
in the Science Fair. It is optional for K, 1st, and 2nd graders. Please
join us on the evening of January 26 from 6-8 to see the projects
and participate in a few other activities with your family.

Cuando deje y recoge su niño(a), por favor NO USE el carril
cercas de la escuela (herradura). Esta área es
específicamente y solamente para los camiones y
camionetas de cuidado de niños(as). Por Favor parquease
en un lugar seguro. Evite bloquear la entrada del vecino.
Haga un plan con su niño(a) sobre donde estará esperando.
Considere en donde van a estar cruzando. Sea el ejemplo y
utilice los pasos de peatones. Esto es especialmente
importante durante fiestas o eventos en la escuela. NO se
estacione en la herradura.

Cuidado de Niños(as)
Vale la Pena el Dicho
Si necesita ayuda con el cuidado de su niño(a), antes y
después de clases, podemos proveer información adicional
en recursos en la comunidad. Llegue a la oficina.

No Traigan Juguetes a la Escuela
Por favor ayuden nos en mantener sus hijos(as) ¡enfocados en
sus estudios! No permiten que sus hijos(as) traigan juguetes a
la escuela. Esto incluye animales de peluche, tarjetas de
cambiar, o aparatos eléctricos. Si un celular es necesario,
necesita ser apagado y en la mochila durante clases. No
somos responsables si se pierden o son robados.

Más Información Importante
Asistencia
Nuestra meta el tener una meta en asistencia de 98% o más alto.
Hasta la fecha lo hemos logrado 11 veces de 80 días después de
regresar a clases. Los lunes y viernes son los días más difíciles. Son
nuestros días más bajos. Es importante que su niño(a) este en la
escuela (clase) a tiempo y todo el día. Cuando estudiantes
llegan tarde o se va temprano no solo afecta el porcentaje de la
asistencia, pero pierden una parte importante de su aprendizaje.
Trate de hacer citas fuera del horario de clases. Empezamos
todos los días A LAS 8:25. Que significa que estudiantes tienen que
estar listos para aprender A LAS 8:25. Los lunes, los estudiantes
salen a las 2:15. Martes a Viernes a las 3:45.
Asamblea para la Presentación de NED
Nuestra presentación de NED fue cambiado para el 10 de marzo
a las 2:30. La Sra. McCall necesita unos voluntarios para que
ayuden con las ventas de los yo-yo, unos días después de la
asamblea durante la mañana. Por favor llame al 970-348-2310 si
puede ayudar.
¡Anote estas Fechas!
Pruebas del Estado para los grados 3°y 5° será del 11-29 de abril.
Por favor no haga citas para sus hijos(as) durante estas fechas. Es
muy importante que los estudiantes estén aquí para tomar el
examen. Hacen mucho mejor cuando es junto con los alumnos
de su clase. Agradecemos su apoyo en traer sus hijos(as) a la
escuela a tiempo y en dejarlos terminar el día en clase.
Cambios en Salir Temprano
Pedimos que no sacan a sus hijos(as) de la escuela después de las
3:30 de martes a viernes y después de las 2:00 los lunes. El fin del
día es tan importante como el resto del día.
Feria de Ciencia
Antes de la quebrada le pedimos a los grados 3°, 4°, y 5° que
participaran en la Feria de Ciencia. Es opción para los grados K,
1°, y 2°. Por favor acompáñenos el 26 de enero de 6-8, para ver
los proyectos y en participar en algunas actividades con su
familia.
