Annual Diocesan Silver and Gold Anniversary Mass
celebrating 25, 50 and 50+ Years of Marriage
The Annual Diocesan Silver and Gold Anniversary Mass celebrating 25, 50 and 50+ Years of Marriage will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., at the Cathedral Shrine of
the Virgin of Guadalupe. If you are celebrating your 25th anniversary (married in 1991), your 50th anniversary (married in
1966), or if you are celebrating more than 50 years of marriage
(married before 1966) during 2016, this Mass celebrates your
wedding anniversary. Please register if you plan to attend so
that seating can be reserved.
Bishop Farrell presides at this Mass, and he offers a special
blessing for all anniversary couples. Families are welcome to
attend and will be seated in open seating. A festive reception
will be held following the Mass at the Morton H. Myerson

Once again, we welcome this weekend Fr. Tim O’Toole, of the Cross Catholic Outreach, who comes to our parish
once a year. This outreach was founded to
create a meaningful link between parishes
in America and the priests and nuns working in the church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa,
Asia, Central and South America.
Fr. Tim is no longer new to us. He is grateful for
this opportunity to be with us to preach and campaign
in behalf of the poor and the unprivileged they serve
through this Cross Catholic Outreach.
Please be generous in your response to his appeal
and brochures are provided if you wish to help and
support this deserving Catholic Ministry.
May our Good Lord, who was born in a manger,
lived and loved the poor, bless us and keep us in His
care.
May St. Francis inspire us to become instruments
of God’s love and mercy always to those unloved, uncared and ignored people, especially the poor. Amen

Summer break is almost over and RE classes will resume
the week after Labor Day. The first Sunday class will be
Sunday, September 11th. The first Wednesday class will be
Wednesday, September 14th. All students must be registered for classes before attending. The Open House for
elementary (grades 1-6) will be held on Sunday, August 28,
2016. Students attending the 8:30-9:40 a.m. session should
come to the parish center anytime between 8:30 and 9:00
that morning. Students attending the 11:00-noon session
should come to the parish center anytime between 11:00
and 11:30 that morning. Parents and students can come and
see where their class will be held. Most of the volunteer
teachers will be available for you to meet that day, too. You
may pay your fees that day if you have not already paid.
Fees for classes are due September 30th. The first day
of Sunday class is September 11th. The first day of
Wednesday class is September 14th.
Las vacaciones de verano están a punto de terminar y
las clases de catecismo se reanudarán el fin de semana
después del Día del Trabajo. El primer día de clases es
el 11 de septiembre. El primer día de clases de los

3 PM. This class if for adults at least or to be 18 years of age who
would like to become Catholics, or needing to complete sacraments
